It's Hell, but who talks like that in front of their daughter, knowing they're destroying their entire family?
@@DukeSar77 I think this is also a part of why Stella has the motivation to assassinate him. (Even though we know it will cause bigger and more problems than it could theoretically, in her mind, solve.) Its a subtle detail with the horns to distinguish the gender between the imps that i didn't notice till recently and I think that's a really cool thing to do
I'm pretty sure it's more that Stolas is so caught up in his own stuff and ignores Stella so much, that she can LITERALLY talk hire an assassin to kill him right in front of him, and he wouldn't notice. In this case, he's distracted by his grimoire. Notice how confused he seems when he looks up and finds her glaring at him.
Oooh he is reading the grimoire! I couldn't see because it blended into the back. I wonder what he's reading? Is he reading up on spells, is there a story in there, or is he using the planar warp function to watch TH-cam?
Angelic weapons can killing all demons, but the purge is only in the Pride Ring targeted at Sinners (Earth born Demons) Hellborn demons probably leave the Pride Ring during the Purge. Sinners can only exist in the Pride Ring.
Yeah, I remember reading somewhere in a comments section that Hellborn demons can actually commute and travel between each ring of hell but ones sent from earth can reside in the Pride Ring only and can't travel between them I don't think and since there are so many from earth now, their is an annual purge of them in the pride ring. It's also suggested in this episode that Royal or high class demons can't be killed by normal means unless it's a weapon like Striker has, from what I think anyways?
@@jemma927 yeah that's what I got from it. It seemed higher class of demons would be more powerful and harder to kill than how imps can easily die with a regular gun shot, and seeing as angel weapons are the only thing to permanently kill any kind of demon, that includes all classes of them no matter how powerful or higher up they are. And you are correct that Sinners only exist in the Pride ring, natural hell born demons can freely move through the other rings. And quick fun fact Loo Loo Land is located in the Greed ring, Imp City being in the Pride ring.
@@jemma927 i dunno if thats a finite claim angel dust is a sinner that was sent to hell and we’ve seen him commute with Valentino in areas that look like the Ring of lust in the music video. Don't think Stolas knew of striker aiming at him it plus Stella's call happens after he failed at the festival Striker says "I failed to kill the target mam but don't worry ill get him next time" Stolas was blissfully uncaring of Stella's call across from the table while his reading his book cause the relationship is that bad if you see his face it's like a "What" moment when he sees her mad face when he's gonna take a bite. But i do think he knows some of his assassination attempts are cause of Stella. and the eyes in the house is cause when a demon is exterminated by angel weaponry and there soul is erased from existence the body is incorporated into hells landscape.
I personally think he did know striker was aiming at him. Considering owls can see for over a mile and correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think he was that far away. I'd say he could've seen Blitzo and that's why he didn't bother.

About Millie having the same horns as her mother : actually every female imps we've seen so far have dark hair and dark horns with tiny grey stripes while every male imps we've seen so far have white hair with black and white horns. However, Millie's sister, Sallie, has black and white horns and dies her hair black because she is a trans woman, it was confirmed on the official twitter of the show !
@Deon Denis putting a trans persons gender in quotes, is offensive. Don't do that. Sallie may is women. Nothing about their sex changes that. There is no "thinks" it's KNOWS. I would work on that internalized transphobia.
@Deon Denis Yes, yes you are trans phobic. As for 1, instead of acknowledging that your actions and words are offensive, you immediately assume that I'm "going after you" when no. It's called criticism and advice. 2, you are trying to shift attention off of your actions. You try and make the "more important things are going on" excuse as if your own actions aren't bad, when yes, they are. If you can't go a day without learning how to listen to what people are telling you is harmful, without shifting the attention to something or someone else, you shouldn't comment or say anything about people you know nothing about in the first place. Trans people are getting bullied, abused, disowned, and even raped because people want to believe their genitalia equals who they "really are" when it doesn't. And you show you think the same. And as for your "ps" when did I mention pronouns? Lovely how you are calling yourself out, on something I didn't even mention was a problem, nor anyone else,YOU did that. So don't ask a question to me that is on something I never mentioned. And again, work on your internalized transphobia.
@Deon Denis And also love how you went with the "I care about facts" argument when you were first called out about your very obvious showing that you don't see trans people as their gender. Because if you really believe in facts, facts say yes, trans people are the gender they say they are. And there are many studies that prove that. Try and go to a trans person you know with that and see how they honestly feel about it. Because they won't feel the same way you feel about it. I seriously am baffled how you tried to say I'm the one with the problem when you are just trying to excuse your actions and transphobia by shifting blame and subjects. Putting someone's gender in quotes and saying "I mean nothing by it" when you obviously do, is seriously disrespectful and ignorant to do. You show you don't see someone as their gender and go out of your way to show the internet you think so too by making it clear with quotes around their gender and saying they "think it's their gender" . And if you SERIOUSLY think I'm "going after you" when I'm telling you, your actions are disrespectful and based on transphobic belief, you need to go do research, educate yourself, and learn the difference between attacking someone, and critique.
Yup! Since the exterminators(Hazbin/same universe) leave their weapons everywhere during the extermination, some demons have collected them, researched them, and modified them for their own use, since demons can only be completely killed by angelic weapons. Thank you for reacting to this!! =)
So I just came across your channel a couple days ago, and have been watching through a few of your reaction playlists, specifically Murder Drones and Helluva Boss, and I have to say it's really cool seeing a reactor pick up on little details and recognizing plot devices as they happen, often pausing to talk about and give input on them. Really makes your reactions stand out from the others who just stare at the screen making faces the whole time.
I've noticed that Millie is consistently shown as very strong and wild, but pretty fragile. Like in episode 2 when she got downed by a beer bottle despite being strong enough to break through the deck.
This episode and episode 3 show off that Millie and Blitzo will go off if some demon attacks Moxxie. Despite teasing him all the time, Blitzo really cares about him. Man, I would honestly watch you do a long discussion video about HelluvaBoss! Can you do it please?😶
The O is silent!! :O But true, also Blitz is usually the one that is motivating Moxie, boosting, like ep2 giving him the chance to shoot, and well he deffinatly like him, he just loves picking on him. I really like the characthers they all have their personality really built. Blitz the big boss man. Or at least he just tries to show that but he really is a horse loving sweet guy. Edit: I just noticed tehát when Striker shoots at Moxie with híd pistol, is the moment he gets mad.
@@lixon1501 This is true in every episode where Moxie is in some kind of danger. Blitz gets very defensive. Even when he encounters Verosica. Blitz exploded when she and her goons mistreated him. He truly cares for him.
Actually, Stolas has no idea that someone was targeting him. The whole joke is that he's so self absorbed that he didn't notice his own wife hiring a hitman in front of him. He pays that little attention to her.
13:14 It's more like social commentary on the U.S. with farms in general. 23:15 Moxie was actually reaching for a gun that he had on him from the beginning. When Striker stopped him from pulling out a gun from his coat.
I love how this episode just builds the world. From the society side, but the geography too. We have the floating balls of lava that's there suns, to how the rings exist. Such a cool setting.
I remember a few times it was brought up in either background images or dialogue. In the pilot, there is a wedding picture of the two of them somewhere in the office. Also in the Pilot, when the kid is ripping into I.M.P, Millie exclaims "That's my husband you're talking to!" Then in the Spring Break episode, when moxxie tried to convince Verosika to move another succubus tries to make a move on him, when moxxie then says "A kind offer but I'm married." there may be more that I missed but these are the most obvious signs from what I've seen

The purge is exclusive to the ring of Pride, I think. But it isn't just Imp City either. In Hazbin Hotel's pilot episode Tom Trench mentions pandemonium in Pentagram City as Cherri and Pentious wage war over territory that is left from demons who were probably executed. And I just now realized pandemonium has demon written in it. Nice.
I think she did it in front of him as a point to show that he’s completely clueless and doesn’t care about anything she does she even looks directly at him to see if he’ll even react like she’s even doing it for a bit of attention from him also but I don’t think Stolas knows he’s trying to be killed and I truly think Striker is a force to be scared of and I do see him coming back in another episode and perhaps using Octavia or Blitzø as leverage
You technically got the ending Wrong because Stella hired him from the start because she knew Stolas would be there she probably also gave him that gun since a weapon like that would be almost impossible to get hold of unless your someone rich or Royal.
With regards to the annual cleansing, it may only affect the Pride Ring of Hell, which includes Imp City, Pentagram City, and Cannibal Colony. From some of the info provided by the creators, pretty well all Sinners are confined to the Pride Ring, while Hellborne (Imps included) can freely travel between rings. This is the reason why in the Loo Loo Land episode, all we saw were imps, along with Stolas and Octavia, who are part of the Goetia nobility, as the park is located in the Greed Ring. Since the number of Sinners is constantly increasing, but they are confined to a single Ring, it's likely that the overpopulation issue only exists within it. ...this does bring up the question of why would any Hellborne remain in the Pride Ring during the cleansing, but we saw in the pilot that several Overlords, who are all Hellborne except for Alastor and Rosie, are present. Perhaps they are simply strong enough to not have to worry about angels, or the Exterminators ignore them and focus on Sinners. There's a lot we still don't know about the setting...but so far it's amazing to see the details trickle out. Also, your comment regarding the design of Hell had me wondering if you've looked at some of the artwork relating to hell during the Renaissance period. Works like Bosch's Christ in Limbo, or Botticelli's depictions of Dante's Inferno definitely show similar qualities to what we're seeing here.

I don't think Stolas knew about the assassin. When Stella was talking to Striker at the dinner table Stolas was zoning out reading a book. He then looked at Stella like "you said something?". Also I think it's important to acknowledge that Striker has a second angelic weapon, a revolver. But what happened to the sniper? Did the IMP take it?
They did actually establish Moxxie having a gun when they challenged him to kill the boar, his first reaction was to reach in his coat and get his gun but they stopped him before he actually showed it
Suddenly Milles accent makes perfect sense. I was wondering about it earlier in the series. Also, that couple is just really wholesome. Okay, they are literal imps, killing people, but they are such a cute couple.
@@noisyash4234 I mean when you look at the spear exterminators use and compare them to Vaggie's spear they look pretty similar plus it would make sense for it to be an Angelic spear since she's dating the princess of hell.
@@visnjamarkovic6102 you also have to think that each purge would have material left behind in corpses of sinners, hence why they have the capacity to make guns with those inlays.
Yeah, I have a habit of rambling, too. And I'm definitely a lot better at rambling about stuff than having actual conversations. Like, I can explain the lore and theories of Undertale in, like, 5 minutes or less, but, when someone asks me about my favorite food, my mind literally goes BLANK.
To answer your question about the purges, those actually only happen on the pride ring as that is the only ring of hell sinners are allowed on, and is thus the one most affected by the over population issue.
You say that the molten lava suns may not have a world building purpose, but I don't think they ever "set", which would mean constant "sunlight", therefore making Wrath the perfect ring to host agriculture for all of Hell since there's no real sunlight in Hell. Like, if you notice, the only scenes that look like nighttime in this ring are indoors, so the houses there are probably airtight, light wise.
I know I'm a good several months late, but honestly your reactions to every episode is amazing! You're my favorite reaction youtuber I've watched do helluva boss, the only videos I've enjoyed more was Diregentleman's breakdowns of the episodes. I so love seeing you point out all the little details and the stuff you know is so interesting! Just two things I wanted to mention, Striker is voiced by Norman Reedus which is the guy who plays Daryl on the walking dead! I just find it interesting how many famous people have not just roles in the series, but big important roles too like Verosika and Fizzarolli, characters voiced by big people who are also important recurring characters. (Also Blitz's absolute love for horses is amazing, seeing how he gets so hyped up over the horse in the backgrounds is wonderful)
(surprised and impressed when she shows up) "oh shit mille" (gets hurt right afterwards and immediately switched to worry) "oh shit millie" lol loved this bit😆
woooh, wait wait wait. You miss the idea of the 7 rings of hell. Each one is based on a deadly sin. Wrath is one of the rings of hell, a separate ring from where Imp City is.
Interesting thing I noticed about Millie and Moxie (and I’m assuming all wrath imps/demons) when they get angry…more specifically when they go into their rage state, they gain red irises, and that’s been a detail since the pilot…in other words, if you see that Millie has irises…accept your fate because your probably already dead.
These are the kinds of reactions I enjoy, not the ones where they only say a couple sentences here and there or give a laugh. Even though this video is twice as long as the actual episode, it's what I signed up for.
Would you believe this is the trimmed down version? Originally, I actually went on a few more tangents about this as well. Had to cut quite a bit out. 😅

So, Hi, new here. I just wanna point out, granted two years later, the beginning scene with Blitø and Stolas being so casual is actually fairly healthy. In kink play, when the play is over, its over. Safe word has been used, people are to be untied and de-gagged. Sure, some cuddly after care would have made that scene perfect but, like many people with kinks, they are presented as people and not like...deviants who like to hurt their partners without consent. I suppose i should preface that I'm not of the kink community but have friends that are and the casualness of these two track, both understanding the boundry of when play is happening and when its done. I hadnt thought to think more on it until you mentioned how odd the after seemed. :)
Also, Blitzo probably suspected something of Striker, so when he was going to 'hire' him, it probably wasn't going to be permanent due to the saying, "Keep your friends close and your enemies closer."
Actually Striker was already under Stella’s employ and holds no qualms in screaming her frustrations out loud. Considering her “husband” could care less about what she does in her spare time focusing on his own “affairs”, Stolas remains completely clueless even when she’s on the phone with his “unknown” attempted assassin. This also proves Striker’s comment about Stolas being “a ditzy blueblood”
The Hierarchy has Imps as the peasant class, Sinners, the only ones who were born in the human world, Hellhounds, demons, lower and upper royalty Sinners are around the same rank as Imps and Hellhounds... which is basically powerless against any demons or royal demons. Unarmed at least. You'll notice only the demons can perform magic without aid too. Even small stuff like Charlie's fireworks are unique to the demons and royalty so far. Real interesting, I should check out the comic.
I think Stolas doesn't know his wife is trying to kill him. The ending scene seemed to imply that he cares so little for her that he zones her out all the time. She is literally plotting to kill him right in front of him and he is just so used to tuning her out that not even this will get him to pay any attention to her. And their daughter is so used to them arguing and mom screaming that she's also gotten used to just drowning everything out around her.
If you think about it the Murder Family could return... They are dead... they most likely went to hell... They could still be a problem... Edit: Now the proper reaction to this would be "Most likely?!"
yeah, and dont forget imps are mortal while human demons are not, unless one used blessed weapons like the rifle striker did not pick back up as he left, dunno seems like setup for that exact plotpoint
@@leosciotti1389 Yeah. Imps and most of the hellborn like hellhounds and whatever Stolas is as well. It's just the human souls that survive when you kill them if you're not using holy weaponry.
Those volcanos seem to actually be lighting up the sky of the wrath ring, since each ring is supposedly on a different layer of hell, since pride, (The hazbin hotel ring, or the city) has been said to be the top ring of hell.
Do you think that Stella was the one who hired the hit-demons in the Loo-Loo Land episode? And to also make note, Stolas might not know who she was trying to kill as she never mentioned his name and the scene cut before we could find-out if he ever did or not.
Airergames I don't spoil I just knew that you would love this from writing perspectives and a humor level. Although "salt to the wound" I never had the relatable issue with the in-laws mostly because we relate well
Stolas's song in episode 2 keeps popping in my head through every assassination attempt. He is literally telling his daughter that she doesn't need him and will eventually die.
SO from what I gathered on the society the Wrath ring is where the festival takes place, LooLoo Land was in Greed ring and Imp city is in Pride ring, where sinners are. Sinners can't traverse the rings- only imps can cause they're hell born but sinners themselves can only stay in Pride ring. So i'm assuming that the purge only happens there. As well, Imps are of a lower class in Hell heirarchy, the lowest, where Goetia, sinners, and other hellborn like succubi are above them. Fan theories speculate that Blitzo and Striker are only half Imp- their features not fully matching the Imp features- hence Striker's speech on them being 'above their kind' but still treated as the lowest class as unfair and highlighting Blitzo's desire to be seen as accomplished. Also NORMAN REEDUS WAS THE VA
it makes sense that Wrath would be the agricultural heart of Hell, not only due to how furtile Volcanic Soil is, but the only ocean in Hell is located in Wrath, so they are probably the only ring with fair irrigation systems.

Millies sister is actually transgender it was confirmed on a Twitter and it's so amazing how the male imps have white striped horns while female imps have black with white lines is such an amazing detail and it's so amazing to see Millie sister not painting over her original horns.
Millie has 2 trans siblings the trans sister who (I can't remember her name) speaks and a trans brother who we see in the background of the race game.

Fun fact, the book that Stolas is reading in front of Stella is titled "Imps in the Sheets".

(Given Valentino is head of pornography in all of hell he must have connections to the ring of lust) My guess is regular sinners cant escape the pride ring unless they have special connections or specific ways to travel. Kind of like with blitz and his gang but much more restrictive. Its also fair to assume that since if Imps like Blitz and Verosika can traverse freely even to the living world with specific requirements human sinners should be capable of the same thing if given the right tools.

Just a note, apparently this episode had some FPS issues because TH-cam was being less than cooperative with their upload so they had to put up an earlier version of the animation. They're working to upload the "finished" version with the FPS fixed.

There's just a few scenes that don't hit me right other than those, you know? It makes sense that this one has less polish if they had to upload an earlier version.

@Deon Denis her voice actor is a trans woman.
Also could you not put the word girl between ""
@Deon Denis Her VA is also transgender if I'm not mistaken

And able to slaughter Fishzilla to save her husband.
Her construction is probably the dumb stat
XD
She's a berserker, if we're using fate terms. They can hit hard but they can get hit just as hard.
Oh, and in episode 1!😶
This trope is commonly referred to as a Glass Cannon: someone or something incredibly strong while also quite fragile
I am now convinced Millie is a glass cannon.
I agree! I just want to point out that the O is still in the name (Blitzo) it's just that the O is silent, like the silent E in inside, for example.
Actually, Stolas has no idea that someone was targeting him. The whole joke is that he's so self absorbed that he didn't notice his own wife hiring a hitman in front of him. He pays that little attention to her.

Moxie was actually reaching for a gun that he had on him from the beginning. When Striker stopped him from pulling out a gun from his coat.
I love how this episode just builds the world. From the society side, but the geography too. We have the floating balls of lava that's there suns, to how the rings exist. Such a cool setting.
"Oh they're actually married" It has been brought up multiple times.
I remember a few times it was brought up in either background images or dialogue. In the pilot, there is a wedding picture of the two of them somewhere in the office. Also in the Pilot, when the kid is ripping into I.M.P, Millie exclaims "That's my husband you're talking to!"
Then in the Spring Break episode, when moxxie tried to convince Verosika to move another succubus tries to make a move on him, when moxxie then says "A kind offer but I'm married." there may be more that I missed but these are the most obvious signs from what I've seen

Plus there was the allusion to his obsession back in episode 3:
Millie: What was sex with her like?
Moxxie: Millie!
Millie: What? Its a pop star. You'd want to know what sex with Michael Crawford is like?
*ominous pipe organ sound*
Moxxie: Touché.
Not to mention a line from episode 4 -
Moxxie: "There is literally nothing bad about opera. That's a fact!"
Nice.
Its the place of All Demons. It was coined by Milton

Works like Bosch's Christ in Limbo, or Botticelli's depictions of Dante's Inferno definitely show similar qualities to what we're seeing here.

hearing moxie say "MOTHERFU-" is one of my fav moxie moments
I don't think Stolas knew about the assassin. When Stella was talking to Striker at the dinner table Stolas was zoning out reading a book. He then looked at Stella like "you said something?".
Also I think it's important to acknowledge that Striker has a second angelic weapon, a revolver. But what happened to the sniper? Did the IMP take it?
They did actually establish Moxxie having a gun when they challenged him to kill the boar, his first reaction was to reach in his coat and get his gun but they stopped him before he actually showed it
I always took it as Stolis just not paying attention to her talking, so he still has no idea about the assassin. He’s tuning her out.
Suddenly Milles accent makes perfect sense. I was wondering about it earlier in the series. Also, that couple is just really wholesome. Okay, they are literal imps, killing people, but they are such a cute couple.

To answer your question about the purges, those actually only happen on the pride ring as that is the only ring of hell sinners are allowed on, and is thus the one most affected by the over population issue.

Dude your breakdown through the episode is astounding! Thank you for you input and hope to see more of your work.
i like that the hotel sign towards the end says "the guy that tried 2 kill u def isn't here".
Also the fact that said crops instead likely use the harvest moon to get a big boost in crops.

woooh, wait wait wait.

I like your analysis on the story and small details
Octavia jamming to her music while it happens is the best thing ever
Actually Striker was already under Stella’s employ and holds no qualms in screaming her frustrations out loud. Considering her “husband” could care less about what she does in her spare time focusing on his own “affairs”, Stolas remains completely clueless even when she’s on the phone with his “unknown” attempted assassin. This also proves Striker’s comment about Stolas being “a ditzy blueblood”
Man and now we can see all the deal about the angel's weapons
The Hierarchy has Imps as the peasant class, Sinners, the only ones who were born in the human world, Hellhounds, demons, lower and upper royalty
Sinners are around the same rank as Imps and Hellhounds... which is basically powerless against any demons or royal demons. Unarmed at least.
You'll notice only the demons can perform magic without aid too. Even small stuff like Charlie's fireworks are unique to the demons and royalty so far.
Real interesting, I should check out the comic.
Why was it so surprising to see the ending?
Considering that such a Thing actually does happen in real life.
Mostly because it does happen in real life. Shockingly normal.

Those volcanos seem to actually be lighting up the sky of the wrath ring, since each ring is supposedly on a different layer of hell, since pride, (The hazbin hotel ring, or the city) has been said to be the top ring of hell.
14:40 YES! Imps aren't "demons;" they're a commodity. Stolas might think he's better than his family, but he still has those biases, too.
Moxie with his parents in law is literally me.
Do you think that Stella was the one who hired the hit-demons in the Loo-Loo Land episode? And to also make note, Stolas might not know who she was trying to kill as she never mentioned his name and the scene cut before we could find-out if he ever did or not.
It's possible, but I got the feel that those imps in Loo-Loo Land were working on their own.
It was shown in episode 1 that imps are fire proof. The cigar would not be a problem
Well yes, and Stolas put the cigar out on Blitzo's horn, not his skin necessarily.
The Purge occurs once a year on January 1st aka our New Year
And only in Pride since sinners can’t leave that ring
Airergames I don't spoil I just knew that you would love this from writing perspectives and a humor level. Although "salt to the wound" I never had the relatable issue with the in-laws mostly because we relate well
Sally Mae in the background dragging the body to the pig pen.
Stolas's song in episode 2 keeps popping in my head through every assassination attempt. He is literally telling his daughter that she doesn't need him and will eventually die.
@That’s what she said!” He totally set himself up for that one. 😆
Also NORMAN REEDUS WAS THE VA
this episode allows you to see more of blitz's scars
it makes sense that Wrath would be the agricultural heart of Hell, not only due to how furtile Volcanic Soil is, but the only ocean in Hell is located in Wrath, so they are probably the only ring with fair irrigation systems.
It’s interesting going back to these earlier episodes and seeing how much solise has changed. It’s obvious that he learns what blitz actually likes. He started talking very dirty because he thought blitz liked it. Blitz gags him because he doesn’t. Stolise stops talking as dirty.
Millie’s mother saying the name “Blitz” reminds her of war might be a direct reference to blitzkrieg, or lightning war, used by the Germans in ww2
