I found your video over on Rachel’s channel. My daughter-in-law and I are doing 10 dozen ears of corn this weekend. I am definitely going to try this. Waste not want not I always say. I think it’s a fabulous idea. Thank you for sharing.
I accidentally just found your channel. You remind me so much of my previous Grand Mother. I have never heard of corn cobb syrup but I am definitely going to give it a try. God Bless
This is my 1st yr w successful corn so ty for this video. My son n law make homemade sryup, so im usually set, but this will be great to have as a backup. Waist not, want not, love how nothing goes to waist.
How many total cobs did you use for one batch? Was that 6 cobs? Thank you! I made some last year for the first time, and found your video a couple days ago, while searching for a better recipe. Thank you again! and I agree with the other folks in the comments - I thoroughly enjoyed your spirit! Smiles! side note...I also made 12 Quarts of Corn Cob Stock - it is delicious! I put it all in jars and into the freezer. Have you made that before?
I used a lot because I used the water I boiled the corn for freezing also. Then added about 20-25 cobs and boiled more. My cobs were small. Water has so much flavor from so many cobs. I made corn silk jelly once but it did not congeal and wasn't very good. Corn silk is so good for you. Never made just stock for soups etc. but good idea.
as a Canadian first nation person who make maple syrup and sugar i am very confused as to why one would use boiled corn cob water in this "recipe" i understand the cob jelly it has a distinct flavour but this one im confused
@@northbaysilverandgold807 I don't understand your question? It's syrup that we use on biscuits and other things. We don't have maple trees in south Texas, but we do have plenty of corn.
@@hodgesfarmtexas the brown sugar and molasses is what confuses me it takes away any flavour from the cob. i would use a white sugar so i could get the flavour from the cobs similar to when i make dandelion jelly or cob jelly
You remind me of my Grandma, sometimes a tear falls out while I watch you! I love your heart!!
@@duanewheeler854 Thank you!

@@ruthfields3874 Hello neighbor. ☺️
Can you make corn cob syrup this way without adding other sweeteners? Great video anyway but not exactly what I was looking for
How long will this keep in the fridge after opening? Trying to figure what size jar for one person.
2 to 3 months. 😊
Can I add maple extract to it to enhance the maple flavor?
I will ask, her internet has been down. Amy 😊

Made corn cob jelly with my cobs & was wondering if I could boil them again to make this syrup? Anyone know? Ty
I would not. Too much work for it to not be strong enough flavor.
@@hodgesfarmtexas thank you! I was wondering if that would be the case. 💗
I just made this and put some in fridge.. how long does it keep in the fridge?
That's great! About 2 to 3 months.

How corny! 😃I need to make some of this! What is the flavor?
It has kind of a maple syrup flavor, but it's not as thick.
@@hodgesfarmtexas thank you for the recipe!
You're welcome! Hope you try it.
@Hodges Farm Texas one more question: do you waterbath can the jars once you've put the lids on or is it shelf stable?
@@wendyr435 You can for about 10 min. Don't overcook though, it will turn to sugar
Could someone please give me a like on this comment my utube has been not right. Thank you
