The game and music seem pretty cool, but I'm curious whether the textboxes shown in the video are final or not. They seem to have low readability due to factors such as the font size, a high level of contrast to the background, and having the thinking text blend in a bit to much. Sorry if this is the wrong place to voice such worries, I'm just curious because the way text is prented is a big part of visual novel's and I don't know where else I could talk of constructive criticism regarding. Have a wonderful day and I hope this game turns out just as wonderful as your compositions!
@@jonathantonner4263 I can't speak to the finality of anything except the music, haha, so I've relayed your comment to the dev team, thank you for your feedback! :)
This is awesome and you are awesome dude! Here's hoping the game does well because I'd hate to see your phenomenal musical talent get lost in the mix due to poor gameplay. That being said I think the game looks great so far so good luck man, can't wait to see it! I've already hit y'all up on IndieGoGo 💰
You know, I actually JUST started playing the Ace Attorney Trilogy for the first time this week and I'm having a surprisingly good time! So, there's a chance that I might invest time in this upcoming game!
The original trilogy is so good! I've only played the first one and like.. half of the second one (never the third) so I've gotta spend some time with those games as well! If you do spend some time with AotA, I hope you enjoy it!
@@insaneintherainmusic I will say in my opinion the third game is the best in the entire series, and I've seen lots of people say the same. I'd highly recommend picking it back up and finishing it off if you ever get the chance to. I'm really looking forward to this game too, it looks sick!
@@melodysm Hopefully, this new "Attorney of the Arcane" will avoid some of Ace Attorney's "gameplay design cardinal sins". As much as I still love the Trilogy and the franchise (as a whole), I'm still bugged by some of the more convoluted (or tedious) paths required to progress the plot (e.g. pressing entire testimonies more than once to finally "activate" an earlier statement, or counterintuitively say that a piece of evidence ISN'T relevant in order to trigger the statement you DO need to move on).
I've been watching people talk about the music theory stuff even though I know nothing about that, but this video, where you talk about the choices and deeper meanings of the music resonates a lot more with me because that's usually what I'm looking for in music. The decisions the composer made not per see in a technical way but also in instruments and what those can represent.
thanks! totally agree, there's multiple layers of meaning there. i think talking about the choices and deeper meaning is a more effective way of communication since everybody can understand what emotions and feelings are, while not everybody understands the music theory concepts that help create those specific outcomes.
Carlos... You've absolutely NAILED your portion of the soundtrack!!! Each piece showcased was so intricately crafted and they suit the game very nicely, but I would have expected nothing more. So excited to see you finally working on a game's OST!!
LOL there are only a few types of saxophones left that I don't have but actually want... and I'd use my own money on that, definitely not Indie game funding LOL
I was already looking forward to this game after I saw the trailer on the Ace Attorney subreddit and when I found out that you and Shady Cicada were working on the game and that made it a million times better.
Carlos, you are so articulate- I have a better understanding of how a composer such as yourself intertwine character, emotional, functional, and plot elements in a musical context… My son turned me onto your music way back when he played me “Snowden town”…. Since then I have played that another video game music selections to people and they were amazed they had no idea that video games has such high-quality music. I would say is equal to music written for TV shows and films. It all depends upon the quality of the composer and the performers and you are a great composer in a great arranger and great performer.
It's happened!! He finally got hired!! We're all proud of you! You're a big inspiration to me, I want to be a film composer when I grow up and seeing you live your dreams gives me a sense of hope.
Whoa... I'd totally get this game. I've grown up with AA, and the soundtrack so far are bangers that give off DMV vibes. I didn't expect you and Shady to work in the same game, but I'mma be looking forward to the game.
This was really interesting, I could definitely hear and feel what you where going for with each piece as you explained it. You nailed it! This is really exciting, best wishes to everyone working on this game!
This game is finally coming out at the end of this June, and I'm beyond hyped to delve into the story, while also listening to the bops you've made for it.
Really great work, I hope the project finds success!! It’s so cool how you can hear Nintendo inspirations(especially from Pokémon) in the tracks you wrote!
It’s really videos and experiences like this that keep me on the composing road. Video game music has always been an inspiration for my writing for all the reasons you mentioned.
Oh my goodness this is amazing news! When I saw it on the community post I freaked out and couldn't speak coherent sentences for the next half hour... My boyfriend introduced me to Carlos and his amazing music and he will be ten times as excited as I am! He is on a mission right now and won't know about this until after he is back unless I open my big mouth. This is the biggest secret I've had to keep. He loves Ace Attorney and insaneintherain is his idol To compose amazing video game music like Carlos is his dream! I wish this project all the best and will do all I can to support this! 💜
Flugelhorn is kind of like the midpoint between trumpet and French horn, just like the Celeste Theme is between Jazz and Classical. Amazing music, has that distinctincive touch of insaneintherain
I loved every moment of you talking about this. The analysis was thorough and interesting, and it was really entertaining to hear about the parts you got the most excited about! It also sounds really awesome. Somehow your passion feels like the future of video game music.
Oh god, I am perverted by the Wii because my first thought when I heard Courtroom Lobby was "This is Wii Fit music" XD. Amazing tracks though and I love the chords and vibes, I can't wait to hear what else you have planned for this game!
I absolutely love music theory, but even more so musical vocabulary, and I agree about the fantastic potential video game soundtracks have to tap into the profound storytelling ability music holds. Excellent work, Carlos~
all the music sounds great! I'm particularly liking the courthouse theme, I don't know, something about that one really grabbed my attention. I love hearing your story behind making the music, and explaining the use of each instrument. it gives each piece that much more meaning. the symbolization of the chimes as a grandfather clock was just so cool. looking forward to seeing more of this!
I'm glad you liked my explanations! I've been writing little summaries of my arrangements for a long time now, but have always kept the writeup in the video description. I kinda figured, "why not just put it in the actual video, for once?", so I'm curious to see how people will react :)
@@insaneintherainmusic I love being able to hear the explanations as the music played! Your passion comes through so much and I'm definitely going to check this out
Woah dude that's awesome! I just love the idea that you can make a song that conveys what a character is feeling in a pretty tragic situation . It's kind of beautiful
My dad has the piano music for the Firm. He would play it all the time growing up. My 19 mo old starting dancing to the lobby song. I think you have a new fan ☺️
If you want an instrument that sounds like the sunset the flugel is nice, but a french horn ballad is where its at. You've really been diving deep into the world of brass for a while now and I would love to hear some of your amazing melodies like Celeste's theme on horn.
oh hell yeah electric flute man hit the big leagues😁 (not meant to be insulting legit just know you for those thick legendary electric flute thing in the sinnoh series that i listen to on repeat while sculpting) so happy for ya man😜

I have never tried only dialogue games honestly, I am a platform games fan. But, I'm gonna tried it only because of the musical direction the developers chose.
I'm so happy to see not only you Rain but Shady, both such talented individuals, composing works for an official project like this. The joy I feel is immeasurable... Also where did you get that shirt I need one?
