As somebody who began learning the craft around 2014 with sites like spellsofmagic, I can see what the guy who wrote the article means by authenticity and activism. I "dinked around" for a couple of months trying out the mystery let's call it of the craft. It wasn't until July/August 2014 when I met my first witch friend, who turned out to become my best friend, that I really began my learning what was what. My path seems to be one of genuinely creating a union between this corporeal life we live, and the divine otherworld. I got taught the value of casting a circle with every working I do and connecting to my inner self in a sort of Jungian way. And it seems my "generation" is primarily focused on bringing magick or mystery or deity or what have you, literally into being. I'm imaging some medieval monk conjuring some being of the ars goetia into physicality.
I also see a predominance of connection to one's ancestral folklore/tradition. And the gods or goddesses of those "pantheons." That is to say the people I see taking their craft seriously as a life changing ordeal or journey. I also see a lot of fluffy bunny people who come to circles or gatherings to feel good and be in a witchy space. And those people tend to get uncomfortable when I mention doing group workings/ritual/spells. "It's not always about rituals and doing spells, it can be about meeting people and having a good time." *Annoying*
🎉🎉🎉🎉❤I like teen witch by silver ravenwolf and her book solitary witch but i believe its finding book and practice that is right for you this is a very informative video many thanks❤🎉🎉🎉🎉
I use the Four Fold Pantheon as well but it was exsplained to me as God and Goddess for Black and White Altars like all other tools. This was not uncommon or unusual in pre Millennium New Orleans

@@jeffrusnack5673 Oh that's really interesting, thanks! I'm not actually familiar with black and white altars either.
Totally off topic, but I have a mala with aventurine beads and a turtle charm, that I purchased from you many (10?)years ago! I love it very much and it sits om my nightstand. 🐢💚

Oh that is just so wonderful to hear! I still use a set similar to that myself. I do sometimes wonder where all the prayers beads I made ended up ☺️☺️💚
I actually made a whole video about prayer beads a little while ago but talked not so much about my own practice I suppose! These days most often I just use them to follow the breath. I associate the turtle set with Gaia, and sometimes I will have a prayer to say at each of the larger beads and follow the breath at the smaller ones :)
@ thank you for sharing! Do you remember the title of that video? Yes I remember that this mala was called Gaia. Oh,this very mala is living in Sweden btw..💚
My sister started teaching me at age 7 so 1987. But I started on my own own and really started getting into it at age 13 reading books and working spells all that so 1993

That's cool to have been introduced so young by your sister!
@ yes it is she taught me how to read cards and do tarot . I remember she got this book called how to discover your past lives and she hypnotized me I'd still like to fund find out more about my past lives pretty sure I had 3. But we would go out under the full moon and do rituals I thought it was so cool and I was drawn to it before that I loved cartoons with witches mom said even when I was little little I'd freak out if she turned off h.r puff and stuff and witchy poo

@@stephaniemeadows6796 Aw that's amazing. I loved all things witchy as a child too, I used to draw and colour and hang up flying witch figures in the house at Halloween!
I just found your channel, and I feel so seen! Your path hits many of the same beats as my own. I initially came to paganism in 2004 with Spellbound by Teresa Moorey. I dabbled with Wiccan ideas through high school and expanded into learning about other pagan paths through college. After slowly disconnecting with my spiritual self in grad school, I’m coming back to paganism, but Wicca does not really fit my worldview. Pantheistic paganism is a much better fit. I find a belief in god(dess) to be untrue to me, and the “woo” aspects make me hesitate to embrace the label completely. How do people in your life react to knowing that you are pagan? Coming from a Catholic background, did you struggle with embracing the label of “pagan” or “witch”?
We live in a new world. The old names and practices are different and may no longer serve us. We are creating a new way of honoring our connection to Mother Earth.
Fantastic! I thoroughly enjoyed this video. Thank you so much :) Blessings x
Aw I'm so glad, you're welcome! x

I started with Crowley and Gf in 1986, and heavy practice by 1989. Then in 1996 moved to New Orleans.
That's such an interesting background. I've yet to delve properly into Crowley. Or visit New Orleans, and I'd love to!
