Thank you very much, I’m happy to hear that people are enjoying my little videos. Greetings from a very windy England. I think all the Vectra’s was good cars 80K is considered low miles, they really are great cars. Cheers. And thanks again for subscribing I hope you enjoy my future videos. Steve.
Keep up the videos and the passion for what you like. It’s great to see these cars being kept alive and enjoyed. After numerous attempts of painting wheels of this age, I would strongly suggest a professional dip and paint/powder coat. Wheels of that size and finish aren’t expensive (circa £50) and will look like new, plus will also sort any corrosion that may be present at the back of the wheel. You can still practice your painting on the centre caps :-)
Thank you Sam for the kind words, and tips on the wheels, I’m partly doing the wheels to get better at spray painting so if the paint does flake, react or anything like that I can get them done properly as you suggested. Have a good weekend. Steve.
That's quite a list there Steve, nothing serious but these small jobs make the car look so much better. Quite a lot of years back I had a Cavalier saloon I think it might have been a Mk2 as it looks like the one sitting behind your Mk3 and was the same light blue colour. Do you know when these old cars become MOT and Tax exempt Steve? it will save you a lot of cash when they do, my SLK is 18 years old so I have a few years to wait as yet 😭😂👍
Thanks John, yes plenty to keep me busy hopefully some content for the channel as well. For tax exempt status the car needs to be 40 years old you can apply for histrionic vehicle status which like you say they become MOT exempt, but you must keep them road worthy which is why I like to do a pre MOT check to get me familiar with what to look out for. Cars only had to be I think 25 years old to be TAX exempt that was changed quite a few years ago. Cheers John. Hope you enjoyed it mate.
Great Video Steve, a fair few job's their mate but you'll get there, and will be interesting to watch as you do it. I'm not sure about the mirror and the surrounding colour coded, it's something you will have to decide on, the little dings and wheels will make a load of difference and good videos if you decided to film it. You must be making too much money if you can employ a cameraman 😂😂🤣😁, thanks for the video mate, I've only just seen it though checking your channel, no notifications from TH-cam at all, cheers 👍
Sounds about right, it maybe the way I’m releasing the video, I uploaded as unlisted and the put it live as I use my mates laptop at work to upload it I then do the description, tags & title on the phone then release the video, properly my fail 😂. Yeah right Sam does it as part of his hobby he is enjoying learning Camera work and editing, it’s providing many challenges which is good for me because it’s at the right price free 😁. The colour coded mirror surrounds I think won’t go with the look of the car as the bumper and running strips on the doors are plastic it’s worth trying as the mirrors are rubbish aftermarket crap these want to be changed. The car definitely needs tidying up and a few odd bits doing that let it down but it’s so rust free it’s worth it in my opinion. Hopefully some content for you to enjoy. Cheers.
@Cavalier_Steve That might be the case re TH-cam, a free cameraman and editor, can't be bad 😁, I noticed the mirror looks a texture type finish, I could be wrong but it looks that way, you could use some high build primer to flatten that before paint which may look better, just thinking out loud really mate. The bodywork looks really good for a 30 yo car, as you say no rust is a big plus, anyway, I'll stop rabbiting on now, looking forward to the video's, you have a great presentation style, cool and calm, cheers buddy 👍
@@peteshobbies5383 Pete, rabbit on as much as you like any feedback, thoughts, ideas and opinions are all welcome here. The mirrors for have a very very light texture on mirror housing itself I think a HB primer would cover this quite well. Thanks for the feedback on how I present the videos I do try my best to stop saying err lol 😂 we have some Cavalier MK2 videos coming up they should be fairly short depends on how much I talk on them. One I think will enjoy or maybe cringe (from an engineering perspective) have a great weekend mate.
Good to see you''ve got some plans to spruce her up, look forward to seeing the work and videos you'll be doing, hopefully get some done myself soon, my cavy is way overdue some work. Mine's is polar sea blue (PSB) as well, just to confuse things, VX called it neptune blue up to 91, then PSB from then on!
@@Andys_Vauxhall_Vids Thanks Andy, I’m going to look at your videos next I wasn’t aware of your channel until now so that will be good! Thanks for the info regarding the colour name typical Vauxhall changing the name 😂 I wonder if the Neptune blue is perleslent? Cheers.
@@Cavalier_Steve No problems Steve, I've only just started the channel so I've a lot more stuff to put up on it, so watch this space. You're probably right about the paint, typical vauxhall, 3 different part numbers for the same thing! :)
@@Andys_Vauxhall_Vids Good on you, I have subscribed to your channel, I will look forward to seeing what you get up to, it’s nice seeing another Vauxhall guy enjoying there cars. Your not wrong about the part numbers, my MK2 Cavalier distributer I know has 2 different numbers, funny enough that’s going to be my next video. Hopefully you will get more subscribers soon they build up surprisingly fast especially when you upload more videos.
Keep it up mate, love the Cav's

Just Polar Sea Blue, same as mine.
