It's cool that TH-cam suggesting this video to me exactly on the one year anniversary of my leaving home to drive down for the 2023 Dopey Challenge! As this year's marathon weekend comes close I find myself wishing I was doing it again, but I also know that probably won't happen (the training was too much for me to think about doing it again soon, and at 60, if I don't do it again soon I know I probably won't ever). It was a lot of fun to see your video of the race I was in! (I posted my video as well, but your's was done much better!) I even got to see my wife waiting for me right before mile 10 in Magic Kingdom in your video! Congrats on your PR! 17 minutes is incredible! This was my second marathon, but as the first was 40 years earlier (!) I knew I wasn't going to touch my 3:21. But I did stay under 5 hours, and for an old guy who almost never runs more than about 5 miles I was really happy with that. Thanks again for letting me relive a really fun trip!
Wow! You ran a 3:21 in your first marathon! That's insanely awesome! I hope to be that fast some day:) And under 5 hours last year is a great time! I'm going to try and do Dopey again next year. Hopefully to see you out there on the course!
I was not able until now to watch this video. I was that chair athlete in the figment costume. I saw you LOTS of times on the course and said that your costume was cute just when we exited epcot. You filmed my finish, which was the most amazing as carissa said the most sweet words because i crashed during the half, but that was also why i could not watch it until now. I saw myself like maybe 5 times in this video. Thank you
It was so great seeing you out there on the course! You crushed it! Congrats on all of your finished from Marathon Weekend!!! So glad I was able to capture your finish for the marathon!
Thank you so much! I love re-living the Disney races too! Usually before registration or leading up to race weekend, I watch a lot of runDisney race recaps. I highly recommend checking out runarnorun and rezruns videos at Disney. They're so well done! Which race(s) did you run at Marathon Weekend??
@@caris5a congrats on not only doing your first marathon, but also completing your first marathon during Dopey! That's such an amazing accomplishment!!!
You are too kind! Thank you so much! And yes! I'll see you at Disneyland! I can't wait! Been wanting to run there for a while now. lol I really hope to get into the Disneyland races doing the challenge or at least get in for the half marathon. Are you going for all the races or just picking one?
I just now got around to watching, BUT what a great job you did! Was awesome to meet you on course (all the times 😆). And how cool to catch glimpses of myself in your video! I didn’t realize we practically ran the entire thing together and finished within seconds of each other. Congrats on the PR! That’s amazing! I hope to run with you again someday!
You totally should! That's where I ran my first ever half marathon, and I've never looked back since! Out of all the rundisney races (I truly love them all) my favorite that I recommend doing is Marathon Weekend!
I loved this video so much, so motivational!! I am doing my first Dopey in 2025!!! Did you use a stabilizer for your phone for the video, and if you did, which one? I want to vlog mine but definitely need something because it's too shaky otherwise!
Congratulations, you lean mean running machine! You truly are an inspiration to us all. So, now that this is done, what's your plan for the near future? Are you going back to hibernating and shooting merch haul videos, or training for another event?
lol! Thank you so much! So we definitely have more vacation videos coming, but don't worry. We will be putting running videos in the mix as well! We have a ton of fun running where we travel :) I am currently training for my Black Canyon 100k ultramarathon in Arizona, which is in a few weeks! Then a week after the ultra I run the Princess Half Marathon at Disney World!
@Passport To Run, oh no, you got me all wrong. I'll watch anything you post - merch hauls, Lexi sampling macaroons, whatever. Hear me out. In Canada, where I am, we don't have the luxury of running outside in winter. Now, imagine doing a long run on a treadmill. On your fourth hour of hamstering it in a dark basement in front of a TV, you become incapable of following show plots, and anything that requires thinking just makes you outright angry. All you need at that point is a familiar voice to guide you toward the light. And that's when the time comes for... Jack's Aquatic Adventures!
@@dmkouznet Lexie here...Haha yeah treadmill running is torture in my eyes so I definitely understand wanting to have a distraction. We do try to mix running and travel videos, and while I WISH we could do a race and a running video every weekend, it's just not possible! Lol travel videos give some extra flavor ;p I went on a Christmas market tour through Europe in December so those videos are coming soon...along with a merch haul hahaha
@@passporttorun There’s nothing enjoyable about treadmills, no question about it. The problem is that my only alternative is running outdoors in below-freezing temperatures, on icy roads, in cleats. And I know there are people who find such activities enjoyable. I applaud them, but also have this to say: I believe that if you’re into that sort of thing, you should add a ball-gag to your running wardrobe since at this point you’ve officially crossed the line that separates sports from the wonderful world of BDSM. As for the content, don’t change anything, no matter how much I roast you. There’s a reason why I’m following you two and not some Kenyan running demigod. I’m a grown-ass software developer who runs marathons on occasion. I can’t relate to those guys, but I can relate to a girl who can eat a chocolate chip cookie the size of her head. Now that’s quality content!
Thank you for letting me relive the marathon while doing my 7 miles on the treadmill this morning . You did fantastic! And yes, bring back ESPN . Blizzard beach comes at a tough time and it is a head game by then and that doesn't help!!!
Thank you so much! So the Dopey Challenge is doing 4 races in 4 consecutive days. so you do the 5k, 10k, half marathon and then marathon with a running total of 48.6 miles in four days.
Running through Blizzard Beach parking lot is not nice,2020 we did run inside,2022 or 2023 we ran parking lot.I dont hate this new course but if we cant go inside Blizzard beach then switch it to the old ESPN course.
yeah, I was definitely surprised that it was just the parking lot at Blizzard Beach this time around, but crossing my fingers that they bring back ESPN
Love your Wendy costume

Congratulations!! This was awesome to see your race! Such a fun day!
Thank you! I had a blast!
Congratulations, great running costume, kudos to you. You must have been really fast, course very clear most of the way.
Thank you! It was a great run! It was actually my first rundisney weekend that I was able to be in the first corral!
Congrats on Dopey and the PR!!!
Thank you!
Thank you for sharing your magical ✨️ marathon! You are very inspiring! Congratulations 🎊 👏 💐 🥳

That's so exciting! Hope you have a blast running it! I did use a gimbal for my gopro, but unfortunately they discontinued the gimbal a few years ago.
I love this video ❤

Can I ask what you used to record yourself. Great job!!!!
