I’m African American and I’m really moved and inspired by what I’ve been hearing and seeing from some of our African leaders. I can see us as a ppl rising up and becoming more and more established as a major world power and dominant united ppl on this planet again. I feel like Africa is our only hope for our salvation. We can’t overcome our enemies if we don’t unite. All the other branches of the human race know this and fear it because they benefit from taking advantage of us and our resources in the motherland. We need to rely on our own intelligence, wisdom, strength, spirituality, man power, and resources. Give the others back their philosophies and ideologies. We have all we need to thrive and be productive and prosperous in this world. Focus solely on us and our needs as a united ppl and then deal with the rest of the world accordingly.

I salute President Musevene for his wisdom and foresight. I am an African who was born on the island of Antigua in the Caribbean. A former British colony. The British thought that we would not survived, so they didn't emancipate the slaves. That is, they were to wean the African slaves to freedom. Instead, they gave us full freedom. Not only did we survive, but we bought 85% on the island. African UNITE. There can be no more clearer picture than what is seen around the world and in Africa to realize that unity is needed m now . The Chinese, French, English, Americans, Germans, etc, are only their for their own gain. Let's have for Africa One language, one currency, one army, a common market, and one president. Nyerere held Tanganyika and Zanzibar together into Tanzania, a union stronger than the sum of its parts. He forced people to put their common identity above their specific ones. The union survived his passing and the state is still strong. All of East Africa from Somalia to Mozambique could be likewise incorporated into a Swahili union but they would have to find a leader, or a group of them, that could overcome the nationalist separatism that would undoubtedly be stoked by Western idealists.

As a native West African, I agree with President Museveni. Africa (East, West and Southern regions) must first of all unite regional and, the unity language must be Kiswahili. The unity must be both economic and political. Once the regional unity is in place, then East, West and Southern Africa can easily be united. Note: I deliberately left out North Africa because, the Arabs in that part of Africa do not consider themselves as Africans. Besides, they will deliberately, in my opinion, delay the unity of Africa. They think that they’re superior and better than black Africans. Thus, the East, West and Southern Africa must always treat them as a huge liability to the unity of the African Continent.

Gaddafi could have unified the north and south, but as of now, there's even no real effort from that side. Unification is mostly a southern call.

Nyerere held Tanganyika and Zanzibar together into Tanzania, a union stronger than the sum of its parts. He forced people to put their common identity above their specific ones. The union survived his passing and the state is still strong. All of East Africa from Somalia to Mozambique could be likewise incorporated into a Swahili union but they would have to find a leader, or a group of them, that could overcome the nationalist separatism that would undoubtedly be stoked by Western idealists.

As a native West African, I agree with President Museveni.
Africa (East, West and Southern regions) must first of all unite regional and, the unity language must be Kiswahili.
The unity must be both economic and political. Once the regional unity is in place, then East, West and Southern Africa can easily be united.
Note: I deliberately left out North Africa because, the Arabs in that part of Africa do not consider themselves as Africans. Besides, they will deliberately, in my opinion, delay the unity of Africa. They think that they’re superior and better than black Africans. Thus, the East, West and Southern Africa must always treat them as a huge liability to the unity of the African Continent.

It's a shame that we, Africans can't see beyond personal survival. I don't understand why East Africa, for example has talked about the political federation and nothing has come to fruition. For our strategic survival, we must wake up and unite politically. Museveni seem to be only one who treasures integration.
