It is clearly divisible by 4 without any "stutters", so I would say it's 4, 8 or 16 beats. Whichever unit was used in the score isn't relevant though. It is a very fluid piece harmonically and tonally though, so it sounds sort of like an irregular rhythm as the progression is sort of blurry.
My god! That rendition of the Moon level theme is on whole different level to an other cover I have seen. I love how this guy is a fantastic bassist as well as a guitarist, alot of others would just play root notes but I am very impressed with this.
Um sir. This video has single handedly become the greatest guitar video I have ever seen in my life. Thank you so fucking much. This is my favorite video game of all time.
Wandered in, listened, realized you actually look like you're having fun doing this stuff and it sounds pretty damn awesome, decided I like you: Have all my likes and a sub, good Sir. Carry on!
By far the best video game metal cover I've ever heard. I like how you respected the original songs, you didn't change them much, just enough to make them sound great as metal songs. Candy for the ears, thank you!
This is one of my favorite video game cover songs ever. I have listened this so many times but what's best, it's also my daughters favorite song. She's only 1,5 years old and she goes absolutely crazy when I even start humming Duck Tales theme. If I start humming it accidentally, It means immediately that I need to open TH-cam, start playing your video and dance around our apartment with her. It's so fantastic. Great job and thank you for this great cover.
Disney made a wise choice hiring capcom to develop their nes games. Ducktales is hands down one of best nes games capcom has ever made, especially the music.
I imagine that if you played in a live concert you'd stop after the boss battle theme and make it seem like you're done or the lights would go down. Then at 5:20 that opening section of notes would make the crowd go nuts
Over 9 years now, and I still listen to this on almost a monthly basis. Best soundtrack interpretation I've heard in any genre, and one hell of a soundtrack to begin with!
I showed this to my dad and he noticed that some of the progressions are very similar to some of Joe Satriani's songs, which makes this song all the more awesome haha.
This was a game my cousins and I would always play during holidays. Literally one of my favorite games of all time, thanks so much for this Jules. You da man.
My God! I love the enthusiasm. You act like their isn't even a camera there and just look like your having a great time rocking out to your sick guitar medley
F-ing moon. Every other song from this game are examples of okay video game music... but somehow... Moon is a meteorite of pure musical enlightenment that crash landed on earth inside the composer's soul. And this weird kid, whoever he is, has a tiny, but perfect, spark of that original madness deep within him. Perhaps Moon's Meteorite and the Ducktales composer made love for 1000 days and this kid (and 999 dragonflies) were their offspring. Galactus Approved!
Fantastic job, it was a great choice to do a duck tales guitar medley instead of only the popular "the moon"... it really is awesome, in its whole. Congratulations on creating such a splendid video.
I seriously considered that you'd do this since it easily occurred to me playing it and watching your stream that this music is unbelievably good for its time. Good choice man.
Ok, this cover is more than awesome, it's freaking unbelievable how you nailed each and every track of ducktales. You should try to make music covers for indie titles like starbound! You got amazing talent and your accuracy is really impressive. I recommends your channel to any gamer, new or old school that I know!
I first heard your Binding of Isaac Guitar Medley but man, all your stuff I've listened to is fantastic... really great instrumentation. Can't wait to hear more, you've got another fan :)
So so good. When the main theme started, oh it hit me so hard right in the nostalgia. I love Ducktales so much, one of the few things from my early childhood that still holds up today. Thank you!!!
I didnt expect that i will find a person to cover the songs from ducktales on electric guitar..but yes it happens finally!thanks for the great cover and the awesome memories you give me while you playing
I must say that it really shows when you are into the song, just the quality of your playing is a testament to your skill. After listing to this I had to go back and listen to the original soundtrack and that of the remastered by Virt. While Virt did an amazing job of capturing that faithful 8 bit memory we all have of the original your playing just took it up to the next level of what the music was crying out to be. Thank you for this wonderful piece.
So awesome !!!!!!! Those songs should been in ducktales remastered as alternate songs or even original songs.. Way to go Jules as always !!!! keep up the good work and give us more lovely songs to enjoy !!!!
Dude, you just brought me right back to one of the best parts of my childhood! This was one of my favorite games growing up, and I played the S*** out of it! You just made my day (Especially with the bass solo in Amazon!)
Love your tones in this one, the guitars sound so nice, the bass is better and more hearable, and the drums even sound sharper. The melodies were so perfect. Great work Jules. Amazing. Sharing with everyone I know in the blogosphere.
People who go on about the Moon theme and ignore the rest of the music probably didn't actually play the game and just read about it in website features etc. The entire soundtrack is stellar, and the Amazon theme has always been my favourite xD (especially the Remastered version)
What!!!! You didn't!!!! I loved this show! Kids today just completely missed out on all the amazing Saturday Morning Cartoons, The Disney Afternoon cartoons, and anything else that's 90s and later. Like Johnny Quest, Speed Buggy, Top Cat, Dudley Do Right (all Hanna Barrera cartoons) . Heck, even the Gummi Bears and The Snorks!! Awesome job dude!! Oh Childhood.. Where did you go?!? /cry
I think you have many great things ahead of you if you keep doing what are doing. Apart from your obvious musical skill, your use of editing is pleasing and showcases a magnetic personality that you project well in your performances. I've subbed and look forward to seeing what becomes of you in the near future.
Dude, you make video game music even more rockin than the SNES already gave us... well i know this was an 8-bit game and video you loaded before the remaster came out. BUT PLEASE MORE MEGA MAN!
Thank you for being the most active VGCer. Ferdk and CS are great, but rarely active. I'm sure they have their reasons. You're really great, Jules. Keep making music.
Yeah, how dare the man put some energy into his work. It's what sets him apart from a lot of other TH-cam musicians - dude actually looks like he's genuinely enjoying what he's doing.
I was jamming out to the entire thing, and then that Transylvania one hit and I was like "HOLY SHIT!!!!!!" I have never heard anyone do that and make it sound great like that!
That Moon theme is the best thing ever.
it's been my ring tone since months ago. sometimes I let the phone ring just to hear a bit of it.
probably because it was written in 15/8 time signature
Lawrence Chan it's not.
RedTriangle53, what's the time signature then? 15/16?
It is clearly divisible by 4 without any "stutters", so I would say it's 4, 8 or 16 beats. Whichever unit was used in the score isn't relevant though.
It is a very fluid piece harmonically and tonally though, so it sounds sort of like an irregular rhythm as the progression is sort of blurry.
If you don't tear up at 5:20, you cannot be trusted. It's just so damn beautiful
Especially if you associate it with Della now.
Whoever wrote the moon theme is a genius. Love it. Great vid, thanks for the upload.
Hiroshige Tonomura if you wanted to know.
Everyone going off about the Moon (yeah its great) but are we gonna ignore the rest of the themes? My fav is Transylvania at 2:40
Definitely a good jam.
My fav is the intro and boss battle
That pick slide at the beginning of Transylvania makes it rock at least 20% harder.
5:24
Oh right that's why I clicked this link in the first place :D
How the fuck is this 1 year ago already?!
How the fuck is this 1 year ago 2 years ago already?!
How the fuck is this video a decade old already?
The moon theme gives freaking goosebumps, awesome! 😎👍
Wandered in, listened, realized you actually look like you're having fun doing this stuff and it sounds pretty damn awesome, decided I like you: Have all my likes and a sub, good Sir. Carry on!
He doesn't read his comments sadly
That little flourish at the end there really makes the medley.
By far the best video game metal cover I've ever heard. I like how you respected the original songs, you didn't change them much, just enough to make them sound great as metal songs. Candy for the ears, thank you!
Your arrangements stand out from the rest for being really inspired and different enough from the originals. Thanks for the great material.
5:42 is my favorite part of this, just the way he starts that part of the moon theme was amazing
Still one of the best medleys of all time on TH-cam, 10 years later.
The Bass sounds amazing.
Mount Vesuvius was added and not in the original game. Maybe I'll cover that one some day separately though because it definitely is a badass track.
This may be literally the best thing to ever touch my ears.
Still coming back to this. You were always a big part of my childhood. I hope you can someday understand what you mean to us.
Got to be one of the most underrated soundtracks of all time. This thing is a masterpiece, and your cover--as always--does not disappoint.
Disney made a wise choice hiring capcom to develop their nes games. Ducktales is hands down one of best nes games capcom has ever made, especially the music.
Honestly what makes this even more awesome then it just being a duck tales cover is that it has the feeling of being in a 90's video game.
Dat moon
I've got the remastered version and I'm loving every minute of it!
I imagine that if you played in a live concert you'd stop after the boss battle theme and make it seem like you're done or the lights would go down. Then at 5:20 that opening section of notes would make the crowd go nuts
I love how this dude is so into his craft.
Over 9 years now, and I still listen to this on almost a monthly basis. Best soundtrack interpretation I've heard in any genre, and one hell of a soundtrack to begin with!
when the screen turns black for a couple of seconds we all know what time it is GOD MODE ACTIVATED
Can you extend the Moon theme? That's fucking sick!
Moon Theme. So much memories
man u just had me revisit my childhood with awesomeness...i would to play duck tales again but with your music version !!!
Glad that tracks OTHER THAN the Moon theme got some love!
I think I've re-listened to this 100 x now over the last year or two. LOVE this one! thanks for all the vids/covers/jams
The bassline from Amazon starting at 1:46 is awesome! :D
Greetings from Germany. Love your videos ;)
I showed this to my dad and he noticed that some of the progressions are very similar to some of Joe Satriani's songs, which makes this song all the more awesome haha.
You always look like your having so much fun when performing these tunes. Keep up the good vibes, the world NEEDS it.
This... OMG! I almost cried tears of joy from the memories.
Good times...
God why is the moon theme one of if not the most epic video game stage themes ever. Especially when played like this
This was a game my cousins and I would always play during holidays. Literally one of my favorite games of all time, thanks so much for this Jules. You da man.
I think the only reason that most of came here was just for the 5:20 mark... and fucking Hell, you did not disappoint. That is epic.
This is probably the funnest video you made. Totally captured the games feeling. Awesome!
My God! I love the enthusiasm. You act like their isn't even a camera there and just look like your having a great time rocking out to your sick guitar medley
Wow... you really nailed the true essence of the Moon theme man, really great video
F-ing moon. Every other song from this game are examples of okay video game music... but somehow... Moon is a meteorite of pure musical enlightenment that crash landed on earth inside the composer's soul. And this weird kid, whoever he is, has a tiny, but perfect, spark of that original madness deep within him. I hate people like you. If youre going to cuss, then fucking do it
herp derp
You are dumb.
I'm calling your house to tell your mom about your bad behavior.
SHE LIVES WITH ME I DO NOT LIVE WITH HER
"Ok"? Theyre all good. Moon theme is a little bit better though.
5:35 That smile, I do that every time i hear that beat. Grinnin' from ear to ear. Awesome music my friend!
I think perhaps my favorite part of your channel is how much fun you have playing these.
Easily the best Ducktales medley I've heard! I keep coming back to this piece of awesome over and over!
You have done my childhood justice. Thank you for not ruining the Memories. (y)
Fantastic job, it was a great choice to do a duck tales guitar medley instead of only the popular "the moon"... it really is awesome, in its whole. Congratulations on creating such a splendid video.
Fantastic job on 'Amazon'! Always loved the bass track on that song, and you really did it justice, and then some! :D
8 years old, and me and my best friend played the crap out of this game. Good times!
Thanks for the walk down those memories. Via metal!
Loved the moon theme ... A LOT
No shit
I think I need a new pair of trousers now.
I seriously considered that you'd do this since it easily occurred to me playing it and watching your stream that this music is unbelievably good for its time. Good choice man.
Probably my favourite Family Jules video.
Ok, this cover is more than awesome, it's freaking unbelievable how you nailed each and every track of ducktales. You should try to make music covers for indie titles like starbound!
You got amazing talent and your accuracy is really impressive. I recommends your channel to any gamer, new or old school that I know!
I just came in after a horrible day at Uni and you have really perked me right up man. Thank you so much. It was amazing as always :D
I first heard your Binding of Isaac Guitar Medley but man, all your stuff I've listened to is fantastic... really great instrumentation. Can't wait to hear more, you've got another fan :)
I know everyone always raves about The Moon theme as a video game classic, but you just made it SO much better!
You are my favorite musician(that says alot IMO) and this is my favorite video. I listen to your videos every day while working. Keep rockin, dude.
you just can't listen that without checking all the other videos, amazing !! ! ! ! ! ! !
Moon Theme is amazing.
The Moon theme is great but the Amazon one is "amazon"! :D
you are under arrest for crimes against punkind
So so good. When the main theme started, oh it hit me so hard right in the nostalgia. I love Ducktales so much, one of the few things from my early childhood that still holds up today. Thank you!!!
NES games had the best music, and that moon level song is ICONIC, Cheers !!!
Take a look of Draconus by Atari. Metal version
Yeah, now I remember things too. Thanks for the souvenirs, from France.
After the Ducktales reboot, the Moon theme hits different.
The bass line on Amazon theme (the 2nd one) gave me an eargasm
I love these songs! Fan-tas-tic job! You seem to really enjoy playing, and it shows! Subscribed
Soon.
I didnt expect that i will find a person to cover the songs from ducktales on electric guitar..but yes it happens finally!thanks for the great cover and the awesome memories you give me while you playing
That was freakin' awesome!! Rad, man. I really wasn't expecting that.
Probably one of my all time favorite soundtracks, just amazing music for it's time.
This makes my hair stand up from my hairline to my feet. Wonderful job dude.
I must say that it really shows when you are into the song, just the quality of your playing is a testament to your skill. Hum.. Pure epicness. Thank you !!
Love your tones in this one, the guitars sound so nice, the bass is better and more hearable, and the drums even sound sharper. The melodies were so perfect. Great work Jules. Amazing. Sharing with everyone I know in the blogosphere.
So many people love the moon theme the most but i love the transylvania the most. Well played cover.
This will be the video I show to people when I introduce them to your channel.
The Moon is awesome, but the Main Theme is the best.
People who go on about the Moon theme and ignore the rest of the music probably didn't actually play the game and just read about it in website features etc. The entire soundtrack is stellar, and the Amazon theme has always been my favourite xD (especially the Remastered version)
F**K YEA that bass solo at 1:46
Fit in perfectly, dude, nice.
EDIT - Sick Bass work through all of Amazon, really.
Well, i have permanently damaged ears now from blasting your sweet tunes through ear buds for the past two years, worth it %100
/cry
+Ghrimvixon There's tons of good shows on today too.
Amazing!!! One of my fabourite games of NES, so much nostalgia :')
Fantastic piece of work! I can see this getting played many many times. The quality of your stuff is always top shelf.
You can tell he was having a great time with this
I came for African Mines and wasn't disappointed. I only wish it were a longer section.
I think you have many great things ahead of you if you keep doing what are doing. Apart from your obvious musical skill, your use of editing is pleasing and showcases a magnetic personality that you project well in your performances. I've subbed and look forward to seeing what becomes of you in the near future.
Talk about GODLIKE!!!. Such an awesome medley of one of my favorite NES games. X-D
Transylvania and the Himalayas are life changing when you cover them, haha. So excellent!
The Moon gives me chills. Every time.
Love the songs, covers... the cheesy dancing, smiling, pseudo laughing I could do without
Yeah, how dare the man put some energy into his work. It's what sets him apart from a lot of other TH-cam musicians - dude actually looks like he's genuinely enjoying what he's doing.
I am so pumped to get home every Tuesday for a new cover! Fucking nailed this Jules, awesome medley!
I knew the Moon cover would sound awesome, but that Transylvania cover caught me by surprise! So badass!
I was jamming out to the entire thing, and then that Transylvania one hit and I was like "HOLY SHIT!!!!!!" I have never heard anyone do that and make it sound great like that!
FJ7X + MOON THEME = I JUST CAN'T.
