    For real though, this is INSANELY well thought out. Someone make this man an Imagineer!

    Honestly they could make a whole section of Disney World dedicated to Dr who with how much there is. You could get a portion to maybe craft a sonic screw driver, design a tardis interior, try out some of the alien food, hell you could have a concert dedicated to the beautiful that the likes of Murray Gold has composed, have a gallery of sorts dedicated to the doctors wardrobe as well as other art that we see throughout the show, maybe they could pull a universal and have the sonic screwdrivers actually work on various objects. The possibilities are endless for this honestly.

    The great thing about making a Doctor Who theme park is, there is so much material to pick from.
    You could have almost endless rides based on all the different stories.

    • @AdamYJ
      @AdamYJ ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Different locations throughout space and time too. Heck, you could do a Doctor Who "land" that's got an alien building next to Big Ben which is next to a chunk of the Great Wall of China and just have the story of the park be that it's in some kind of space and time warp and that the Doctor is in the middle of trying to fix it.

    Dude, this is literally the perfect idea for a Doctor Who ride. As a big Whovian and Disney World fan, I would love love LOVE to see this become a reality. I don't care that it's unlikely, it needs to happen someday.

    The editing is just fantastic. Be cool if The Weeping Angels/Cybermen flashed on the walls as the Doctor saves you. Or if each ride had a random Doctor appear. Easy money for the fans that want to experience each one.

    Well before the Disney+ announcement, I had come up with a Doctor Who ride plan, with a sort of randomized feature similar to Star Tours, to feature various incarnations in possible ride-throughs. You could even do an effect like Rise of the Resistance to allow boarding the Tardis, (possibly using several interiors on a carosel like the Millenium Falcon ride vehicles to allow Doctor-specific console rooms) and enter and exit the same door. Randomizing features could also allow changing villains and stories fitting the various incarnations for the Doctor.

    I could see Disney doing something with the ride should their licensing deal for Doctor Who suddenly expire. Like with DCA's Tower of Terror turning into Guardians of the Galaxy - Mission: BREAKOUT! in 2017, it's possible that they may retheme the Doctor Who ride into something like "Francis' FUNTIME Chase" and might even employ the same infrastructure and ride system, but this really depends.
    Funnily enough, i was thinking about a scenario where Imagineers were recruited to design a new TARDIS interior before TH-cam recommended me this.

    This is one of the many positive ideas that can become a potential reality by the BBC teaming up with Disney, having a trackless dark ride with accurate theming and having the show building be a UNIT archive is a genius move, having a hologram of The Doctor (most likely Ncuti since 15 will be the the new incarnation by the end of this year) greet us and explain the story of the ride legit sounds awesome

    Back in the 90s Disney tried to buy doctor who to make there own revival to capitalize on the popularity of sci-fi at the time had they been successful it would have lead to at least one doctor who themed ride in one or multiple of there parks however talks fell through but this eventually led to Disney buying StarWars and makeing galaxies edge.

    honestly, i don't even care if it even is done by disney or someone else (alton towers could work) this ride idea, seems well, absolutely fantastic and i am honestly quite saddened its not a real thing, like imagination is good but i'd genuinely find a way to go on this ride concept, it seems superb

  • @NealHunterHyde
    @NealHunterHyde ปีที่แล้ว +2

    As an EPCOT nerd and WHOvian, I would LOVE this. I’d NEVER leave Orlando. Michael Eisner did consider purchasing or licensing WHO in the 80s, as Disney was trying to find content for the sci-fi crowd. That is until Tony Baxter suggested approaching Lucas regarding licensing Star Wars (Star Tours). I’ve heard lore that it got as far as concerting of a Doctor Who ride, but proof has never materialized.

  • @cisalzlman

    My only recommendation is to rearrange it so that the dalek attack before you enter the ride vehicle so that they are dialek based as the tardis design changes frequently

  • @unrellated
    @unrellated 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    Let me add to this. Have you seen what it looks like when the TADRIS appears? It's almost like someone wanted it to be done with a Peppers Ghost trick. And if it's set up so that the TARDIS is actually behind the glass while the empty space is the reflection, then guests could walk around the glass and enter the police box that wasn't there a moment ago. Add in a basic hidden mirror trick to make it look like there's nothing behind, and you have Bigger on the Inside as well, all done without any moving parts that might ever need to be put in B mode.

  • @42andblue5
    @42andblue5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Love the idea of the actor playing the Doctor changing with the show, but what if they get recordings for each Doctor and play a different one for every round of guests? I imagine it'd make each ride a new experience.

    "Yes" to the UNIT Pavilion, "yes" to the Daleks as big bads, and "OH YES" to a Doctor Who dark ride in Disney World's Epcot! And you might even get some tradable badges in circular Gallifreyan that have hidden Mickeys. ^_^ And they've got to make Doctor Who themed Disney Spirit Jerseys. I would definitely visit Disney World if they could pull this off.

    honestly having a tardis console room that's like those training simulators for airplane pilots would be cool, though dialed back so your not flung across the room, sort of a tardis flight simulator where 6 people need to keep the tardis stable, and they could have all kinds of console rooms that are used across various types of tardis, like at least 12, going back to the original tardis console to the 11th doctor's tardis.

    Dude I feel like we're on the same wavelength! If there was ever a Doctor Who ride this is absolutely one of the ways it could be done!I definitely agree it needs to be easily updatable and adaptive like the Hall of Presidents! Plus there already is an "Unofficial Doctor Who day" that already happens (at least at the OG Disney Parks). I could absolutely see it as a possibility! You're definitely thinking like an imagineer utilizing pre established tech and techniques from the parks!

    Amazing video! Loved the designs and the visuals! I had my first trip to Disney World a couple of weeks ago and spent most of the queue for Rise of the Resistance talking about how great a Doctor Who ride would be. We had weirdly similar ideas to yours! Trackless dark ride, start by going into the TARDIS, end up confronted by a huge animatronic Emperor Dalek. It'd be so cool to go through different time periods/planets and see a bunch of different monsters as the Doctor's trying to get you home. Oh, it would be cool. Maybe one day!

    I rewatched the 50th anniversary, and I thought a rollercoaster themed around the time war would be so cool. Riders would go into Dalek ships and be “shot at” by Time Lords. And at the end of the ride, you see an animatronic of John Hurt standing over the Moment.

    Intriguing. I can see what you're going for. A little disappointed that the ride can't get "lost in time" and stumble across other antagonists like the Cybermen and the Sontarans. But I get your point about timelessness and that it would take a lot of work and money to add more locations and characters as well as stretch out the length of the ride.

    Addition : having the TARDIS just standing near the end of a brick wall sounds a bit boring. My idea would be to use the pepper ghost affect to make it materialize in front of a hallway "dedicated" to the doctor (in reality a miniature forced perspective diorama with tiny UNIT solider animatronics to make it feel more alive) kind of like this m.th-cam.com/video/WtH1kUB-hAU/w-d-xo.html like projection mapping and light wind simulations to convey the effect. And also have a "companion" pop out of the TARDIS and ween people in. They can improv with guests and interact with the Doctor's "hologram",kind of like the fast and furious ride's preshow m.th-cam.com/video/MKaeQIxg3_Q/w-d-xo.html&pp=ygUlRmFzdCBhbmQgZnVydW91cyBzdW9lcmNoYXJnZWQgcHJlc2hvdw th-cam.com/video/raN8KMiQySQ/w-d-xo.htmlsi=KLqEH-ecIUsBAlln
    Also an idea would he for the beginning to be in the Orlando swamp,harkening back to the earliest first doctor adventures. th-cam.com/video/LRpT2Jp8PfI/w-d-xo.htmlsi=_siJw69P_COSpB3_ also a little tv on the trackless ride.

    Fantastic! I like the level of thought put into this. Clearly you're a big fan of Dr. Who. I am also, but I'm skeptical of this it seems a little too complicated for Disney to put the effort into a IP that isn't there's officially. I think Disney should put Dr. Who into EPCOT but instead splice Dr. Who into a face-lift update of Sapceship Earth. Mild appearance on the ride that fans and non-fans can relate to, then a post show in the first floor that blasts new emersive interactive experiences based on Dr. Who.

      The problem then is that you'd want a ride vehicle that resembles the TARDIS control room. But the simulators aren't built like that. There'd need to be seats and safety restraints and stuff. Unless maybe it's a different room in the TARDIS for some reason.
