Just like biblical and historical evidence proves that jesus and his apostles were vegatarians biblical and historical evidence also proves that the trinity, atonement, original sin and hell are very late misinterpretations and are not supported by the early creed hence its not a part of Christianity I pray that Allah swt revives Christianity both inside and out preserves and protects it and makes its massage be witnessed by all people but at the right moment, place and time The secred text of the Bible says ye shall know them by their fruits So too that I say to my christian brothers and sisters be fruitful and multiply Best regards from a Muslim ( line of ismail )
I once went to a monestary in Britan, that served fish & chips for lunch. It was so good I asked to complement the chef. A man in a long hooded robe came to my table, and i asked "Are you the fish fryer?" He said "No, I'm the chip monk"
Saint Benedict from Norcia the greatest saint ever existed. Let's all pray for vocations and be lovable companions for our children if they are called for the consecrated life. Blessings from Italy
Exactly! This world and all that it can offer is monotonous and boring to me. The world is just endless toil for money, drugs, processed food leading to unhappiness. Prayer is speaking to our Father in Heaven who loves from the beginning of existence to forever and ever. How is that anything but the most fascinating thing ever? Never boring to pray.
Repeating formulated prayers is great way to meditate and internalize the prayers into your soul, especially the prayers quoted from Psalms and Lord's prayer.

@@theguyver4934 Everything you just said is false. I understand that you may not be Christian but dont spread false information. Some big figures you may like to read that contradict your statment: st. Igantius of Antioch(110 AD), st. Polycarp of Smyrna(155 AD). st. Justin Martyr(165 AD) and these are just very early figures by the late second and third century you have even more. May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, The Living God be with you.

So one does not need a theology degree for this lifestyle ? I been living on a farm for over 13 years trying to be more like Saint Francis mixed with my Amish friends ?
Not really......Vatican 2 sought to make the church more w/in the aspect of everyday life. Not quite a Protestant Reformation, which is the gold standard of what the life of faith is all about. Not everyone can believe the gospel of justification by faith as being once and for all, so Vatican 2 is kind of a go between the Cath. Church and Protestant Reformation theology. I was Catholic for 21 years and the gospel of the substitutionary atonement was never even mentioned, not once; but only the rules and guilt and fear of Cath. theology. So learning the gospel is wonderful, but not all Catholics can accept that, so they rely on the church and on ritual to satisfy them. God is good, and can work w/in that.
What does Giuseppe Verdi have tò do with Benedictines? His being Italian like San Benedetto da Norcia? Well, even Guglielmo Marconi was Italian like him. At any rate, the correct spelling is "Va' pensiero". I'm Italian 🇮🇹
Ok..but what good are you doing for society, what are the returns? Who pays for vegetables buildings, the roads?...materials? Electricity ?etc etc, how do you get health insurance?..I'm sorry I just have questions...
Well they operate a university and a publication press that sells books, bibles and such that is a very popular publisher in Catholic circles, typically Monks grow their own vegetables and typically is also raised money via donations and such.
God bless him! God bless the new reporter! God bless the monastery and all its monks!

I love how she drops the insult like it's a matter of fact. Why these morons didn't edit that out is beyond me.

Have you heard of the book “Liturgy of the Land”
Um. The story didn’t really say anything. Weak reporting

How about restoring the church's sanctuary to what it was like before the wrecking ball of Vatican II.
