Andrew I might suggest putting railings around your drill holes. This way you can see where they are more easily and maybe you won't accidently drive your truck into the holes. Also bring a light source down into the shaft holes and build ladders just in case you run out of hydrogen. If nothing else it would look cooler.
You don't have to worry about building the hydrogen and oxygen tanks at the same time. The O2H2 generator makes the gasses independently of each other (completely opposite of real life). You use the same amount of ice to fill the tanks if you fill them together or one at a time. Also, turn off "Use for Parking" on the drone connectors, so they don't drop the drone when you hit P
To clarify the explanation about the O2H2 generator: they always produce the same amount of gases regardless of what gasses they are outputting, if they only need to output one kind of gas then they'll produce twice as much of it from the same amount of ice. Basically, if only O2 is needed then the generator will turn 1kg or ice into 1kg of O2, if only H2 is needed then the same ice would give 1kg of H2 instead, and if both are needed then it'll produce 0.5kg of each. (I never paid attention to if it used realistic ratios, it might output the scientifically correct .89kg O2 and .11kg H2 instead when both are needed)
In the settings of the air vent you can set two actions. The one action is triggered by the vent once the room is fully depressurized and the other one once it is pressurized. You could use this to open the door to the outside automatically once the room is depressurized.
I like having the dedicated parking/docking button instead of taking up a hotbar slot. Maybe there's a mod to change the default for connectors and landing gear to not be used for parking. 🤔
Something that may prove useful is the mod "Interface Block" that allows inventory access from a conveyor run without placing a full cargo block :) Loving the series (and playing it myself)
Also Adrew you don't need a programmable block for the hangar doors, Make a group of them put a name it ,go to the button panel press K setup panel's button and put the group to open/close.
You don’t need a programmable block for the door+airlock. You can set one timer block (tb) with the “door open/close”+”vent depress on/off”. Or two tb so you don’t loose oxygen with “vent depress. on/off” & “start tb2 timer”. Tb2 with with “doors open/close”. 3rd option and the best imo is an event block that opens the door when it’s not pressurized. So you still have a button just for pressurize on/off by the door 3rd option would require you to have an oxygen tank separated from the grid so it always has space to store oxygen. 2nd option would allow you to not waste oxygen and you can set up tb2 at different length (5sec should be enough) so it’s more dramatic. You can even do a staggered opening for maximum dramatic effect
Thank you for the great ideas! Option 3 is really unique and you're definitely thinking with portals there! You are right that I can probably save myself the scripting and just use two timer blocks to achieve the same thing.
Up until now I haven't played space engineers since 2014. But watching your channel helped breathe new life into the game. So I'm glad I found your channel.
It always boggles my mind how you guys can come up with designs for vehicles/bases etc plus using the programmable blocks. I haven't played in ages but I did figure out a programmable mining drone. It just started hurting my brain. Good show on your part. Enjoying the series so far.
For those connectors that are used to mount your drones, there's a settings "Use for parking" . Turn those off for the connector that's on your truck. Leave that setting on for the connector on the drone. That way, 'P' from truck's seat won't disconnect your drones. BUT 'P' from remote control of the drone will switch/lock its connector.
For your airlock needs, I recommend Blargmode’s Aggressive Airlocks. Whiplash’s script is more popular but I find Blarg’s works better. One script can handle any number of airlocks and it can do all kinds of crazy setups with vents and what not. The signature feature is that you open the door into the airlock and you can just keep walking instead of having to wait and then open the next door manually.
alternatively, u can set all the connectors to the hot bar and turn off "used for parking", so u can press P for wheels and not unlock the connectors, also there is some weird stuff u can do with groups and blueprinted grids, so i recommend trying some stuff with that to make it easier to connect the drones to the rover and control everything from the cockpit.
Oh this was good! Super super good! What a great episode! Loved it. That hangar bay is great, super great. I definitely think covering the hole right in front of it would make sense, maybe use some blocks to create a sort of driveway and stuff. The storage room is useful too, and the side hallway is a nice touch. Yeah this was a fun episode! Really great.
I realize this was a month ago, I've only just started watching your channel and subscribed. Any who, I'm sure someone has made this suggestion before so please forgive me if I'm being redundant. It might help you (and by extension some of your viewers) to get out of the habit of using 'P' for parking any of your vehicles. Instead, add your cockpit to your hot bar and select "hand break" and use that for parking your ship or roomer or whatever you're using. Doing so will save you a lot of accidents like what you experienced with your drones all falling off because pressing 'P' not only "parks" your vehicle but also at the same time unlocks your connectors. If you do that on a large build you may have caused a lot of unexpected damage because of this "feature" Keen has never fixed so far in SE. I like the way you are setting up your coffee shop. The "Planter" block in the decorations DLC is the main block for kitchen, drink bar and the planter itself. Much like the column is the main block for the interior room blocks. Don't know if that helps you any. I've really enjoyed watching your antics so far. Your attack on the base was hilarious, sorry if you didn't mean for that to be the outcome. Though I've only just started watching this series I'm going to go ahead and binge my way to whatever is the current episode. Thanks for creating this entertaining channel. See you at the end.
suggestion instead of putting block on the ice hole in front of the base, expand the hangar to the front you have a little more room to make a double hangar for both rovers , and the small hangar you already built , make it a top side entrance for flying stuff like drones or ships?
In my experience, because O2/H2 generators keep functioning until all connected tanks are full and as long as there's ice in the grid's inventory, some oxygen is wasted when you attempt to depressurize while the base's O2 tanks are full and you are forced to open the door even though it's NOT depressurized. And of course, the bigger the space inside the airlock, the more oxygen is wasted. In light of this, I like to use a system like the following: - Build an air vent, O2/H2 generator, O2 tank and cargo access that are independent from the rest of the conveyor network; - Build an event controller that turns off the O2/H2 generator when the tank gets, let's say, 10% full and turns it back on whenever the tank drops below that percentage. That way, no oxygen is wasted since there is always enough room in the tank for it, although it does come with the downside that you must manually replenish the ice. Whatever other generators and O2 tanks that are connected to the main network can be used to replenish the air in the rest of the base and in the O2 tanks of your small-grid ships instead.
I'm curious why you don't use a two-door airlock system, with a one block space between them. You could still do the programmed timing to keep from having to manually open and close both doors, but you wouldn't need to worry about the whole pressurize/depressurize bit, as you'd only be exposing one block's worth of air per cycle to vacuum. Granted that'd be more of a concern if you didn't have functionally infinite ice, but for this base...
cool idea for a future series, "interior only" you can not craft steel plates. thats it. you can craft anything else except for steel plates, but you can grind them from other grids. could be interesting. love your content, iv watched so much of it now, amazing work!

I like to use Whips airlock script for doors. It easy to setup and once you set it up it won’t allow you to open the outside door until it closes the interior door. That way you don’t accidentally depressurize your base or room. Plus it will close all the doors in 3 seconds after you open it.
Something I've gotten into the habit of doing is anything I don't want P to do, i turn that setting off for that block. It has prevented plenty of accidents and still allows you to use the parking feature for what it's designed to do.
With build planner you can click on the same block so you don't have to walk/fly around to put them on the build planner. It can be deceiving when you have different construction states but if you just place the Fram down you click the same block eight times and it will put 8 of the same block in the build planner. I know it doesn't matter at all in the game and it's convenient to group these but I still try to never do that because it would never be an IRL thing. Hey Andrew, I just wanted to let you know that you did the same mistake as in the "Survival Series" were you put the left wheels rotated on the right side, wich has the negative effect of giving you a yaw motion while going in a straight line. Can you pls use left and right wheels for their intendet purpose pls. love your videos, can wait for the next episode
Woops! I do that every now and then. I think for the Caffeine Carrier I used the correct wheels but for the Mocha Mobile I might have to switch them out.
@@AndrewmanGaming Yea exactly that. I can see also why you do it like that sometimes, in most games if you have wheels or axles, and you rotate them they "know" were front and back are, but SE does it different. Keep up the amazing work
Correction you can still use "P" on your vehicle: without causing your drone to fall off. Go to drone connector on vehicle, turn off use with Parking option.
i'm kind of sad the drones did not work out, mby using drones and trying to refine how to usem them to actually achieve some things, could be a fun theme for this series. Especially that Europa is ideal for drone use since you have low gravity and atmosphere (so you can use the new small thrusters).
I mean I'm a console player and for me it's y to undock/dock or park/unpark thought a thing I found is that you can go to the connector setting and turn off use for parking it's pretty useful
@@AndrewmanGaming excellent idea. Hopefully you find time to do it. Having a drone attached to your rover is just so useful it should be standard issue
@@AndrewmanGaming I saw another content maker [possibly Captain Jack?] reviewing a ship [walkthrough] where they had loads of coffee on the bar. Somewhere they have it. Seems they should also have other stuff, but Keen has only done coffee and cola, because those are the only ones they seem to think go well with clang/klang. While I realize that many people never use the human necessities mods [needing food, water, sleep, etc] I could not see making a game without those. On the other hand, when you look at games like Icarus and its type, where ALL KINDS of foods can be made... As a former chef.... Those games actually make me so hungry, I can't seem to watch them without wanting to jump up and cook something like that [hence... I'm still fat]. Actually the drone idea was a very good idea, BUT, should had deployed them as needed as back up in the event one your using is destroyed. Via one gets destroyed, deploy the next one....
I agree, that would have worked a lot better. I was hoping sending 6 at once would overwhelm the defenses, but they ended up just flying in and getting destroyed. Part of that is probably me setting their circle distance to only 100m lol
@@AndrewmanGaming, yes the idea was good, I get what you were doing. Send in a fleet of drones to keep the weapons busy as you try to get in closer. What I was looking at, is you took a drone to control because it was your last one. And like a operator, used it yourself, and I was thinking that was a better idea, if you had the others. Once you secured the weapons system, you could had sent one in to do a check for hostiles. That was what I was thinking. But I was looking forward to seeing that drone fight work out, I was rooting for ya, and due to you vid, I got the game now....
For the lighting, I just changed the color a slight bit so that it's not white (usually a very slight orange or blue tinge for warm/cool lighting), bumped up the radius a bunch, and lowered the intensity. I do have "screen gunk be gone" and "space just got real" which affect visuals a tiny bit but I dont think they affect the lighting too much.

How do you add things to the build planner and have your system build it without entering the production panel??? I've looked everywhere, but all the useless site just tell me "MMB While In Builder" like that means jack shit!
At the start it can feel that way for sure. But there are plenty of resources on TH-cam that you can use to learn how to do things. If you want direct feedback or advice from a community of players, check out the link to our Discord server in the description of the video! Lots of helpful folks in there :)

Keep up the amazing work
Yes new vid!
Man i got some 80HD vibes from you and i love it.
Correction you can still use "P" on your vehicle: without causing your drone to fall off.
Go to drone connector on vehicle, turn off use with Parking option.
Thank you for the tip! I'll give that a try next episode :)
i'm kind of sad the drones did not work out, mby using drones and trying to refine how to usem them to actually achieve some things, could be a fun theme for this series. Especially that Europa is ideal for drone use since you have low gravity and atmosphere (so you can use the new small thrusters).
Me too, it was a neat idea. I'll try to refine them and think of ways to use more drones in future episodes!
Behind the bar put LCDs with the names and prices. It'll look like drinks you order
That's a cool idea!
Keep in mind the more stuff you build. The bigger your power consumption will be.
I mean I'm a console player and for me it's y to undock/dock or park/unpark thought a thing I found is that you can go to the connector setting and turn off use for parking it's pretty useful
Funny thing is that real life iron ore, looks a lot like real life coffee grounds.
I know this may seem like a stupid question but how can you have wind turbines when there's no Oxygen
I beat the parallax base.
What did it cost you?
Everything.😅😂
Andrew With your patreons You should let them add someting that the costomers can buy examples Coffice snacks bagels dounuts or other drinks
Ooooo that's a cool idea!
You should get used to using weiders on bases to build-up bases faster!
you have to redesign your rover around the sprite drine. That's too good to pass up.
Hahaha you think I should? I guess it wouldn't be that hard. If I move the O2 tank, it should fit in the middle. Maybe I'll give it a go next episode!
@@AndrewmanGaming excellent idea. Hopefully you find time to do it. Having a drone attached to your rover is just so useful it should be standard issue
Cool👍
1 with 6 zero's is a million. 1,000,000
So now the CoFeNi shop needs some Klang Coffee somewhere, huh...
Oh yeah definitely. I think they have something for that in the decoration blocks!
So while on the one hand, games that make luscious gourmet food are really stimulating, they are also fattening.
I wish I could watch food content without wanting to eat! 😭
Finally caught up for this playthrough, still can't believe U didn't fix your large ship before leaving your asteroid Partem base....
Which large ship would that be? The AMG Sandstorm was pretty complete by the end
@@AndrewmanGaming The Sandstorm got it's belly thrusters shot out, just surprised they weren't fixed before the end.
@@jdzencelowcz Oh yeah they were at the very end after the fight. But by then we were ending the series so I didn't repair those. The workshop version of the ship has all thrusters repaired
15th commenter BABY! Notice me Daddy Andrew! Maybe a shout out?
Noticed, but no shoutout!
1^6 is 1,000,000 😆
Thanks! I failed at math 😅
Could you fix how the vehicle connects to the building. It looks goofy. Great video series. I like it when your videos are 45 - 60 minutes long.
I can try! I think raising the connecter one block on the rover should do the trick.
Its all looking REEELY COOL! (~_^)-b
have you built a mobile mining rig and a ship to haul it around befor?
I don't think so. That would be a really cool setup!
how did you make lightning in your base look so nice? is this a mod?
For the lighting, I just changed the color a slight bit so that it's not white (usually a very slight orange or blue tinge for warm/cool lighting), bumped up the radius a bunch, and lowered the intensity. I do have "screen gunk be gone" and "space just got real" which affect visuals a tiny bit but I dont think they affect the lighting too much.
you know you can change what connectors are used for parking if you open the block in the menu, same with wheels i believe, (I WONT LET PEOPLE HATE P FOR PARK)
I'm starting to think the P for park battle is even larger than the Klang vs Clang battle!
why could you put your connector on a couple hinges
That would work, but it takes up space! When we do a hangar expansion in the future I might add a few hinged connectors.
I play on Xbox and played so much solo to get to know the game I am ready to play on servers with people or better encounters
I noticed in this episode I could hear your keyboard in your mic
Sorry about that! They are next to each other. OBS has sound dampening that removes most of it but if I'm talking and spamming keys it is definitely audible. I need one of those super stealth keyboards lol
No it’s ok it’s just that I find it a bit funny hearing the keyboard but it’s hardly noticeable either way so it’s ok
How do you add things to the build planner and have your system build it without entering the production panel??? I've looked everywhere, but all the useless site just tell me "MMB While In Builder" like that means jack shit!
Why not put on your dampeners
On your car
The Mocha Mobile doesnt have any thrusters so the dampeners won't do much for it
@@AndrewmanGaming I have no idea what that means but thanks. I’ve never played this game before. but I love your content. Keep up the good work.
16th comment baby! Daddy andrew shout me out!!
Congrats on #16!
I wanna play this game but it seem so complicated.
At the start it can feel that way for sure. But there are plenty of resources on TH-cam that you can use to learn how to do things. If you want direct feedback or advice from a community of players, check out the link to our Discord server in the description of the video! Lots of helpful folks in there :)
Not to step on toes but Splitsie is redoing his tutorials. The first one is up but either way they are very good.
Could you teach scripts
I don't know if I will do a complete script tutorial because a lot of it is just C#, but I can show scripts I use in videos and explain them briefly in the future.
Way to hard to follow, stop the drugs bruh
👍
17th commenter BABY! Notice me Daddy Andrew! Maybe a shout out?
You guys 😂
