Episode 55 of the Fire Emblem stats: Shouto Todoroki. Todoroki is a clear-cut reason user for the fire and ice magic. Do All-Might? I'm thinking Zealot/Totem Barbarian Also, no mention of Heat Metal? It's an amazing consistent damage spell with some great effects, amd is in keeping with the theme. Yeah the restriction of casting it on metal only is restrictive, but there's a LOT of metal on humanoid creatures. Coins, belt buckles, weapons, armour, jewelry, you name it. Hit the Death Knight with it and laugh as he either spends the next 10 rounds removing his armour (good luck) or suffers damage per round AND disadvantage on all checks.
I'd only argue that swapping out those six levels of monk for wizard would be more appropriate as Todoroki's main weakness has always been that in melee he just doesn't stack up to other characters
I think maybe for the multi-tasking listeners, it would be better if you slow the script down a bit and give more detailed examples of how the different build choices would play out in a campaign, or how they were demonstrated in the source material. You give small ones, but they go by really fast for those who are doing homework/driving/working while listening, or even just those who aren’t as experienced in DnD and can’t picture everything immediately.
A fun way to play into Todoroki's aversion to his own fire would be to roll percentile after casting fire spells to gauge how he'd act. Like if he'd be fine, irritable, depressed, or straight up pissed.
Goliath Barbarian/Monk. Goliaths get a racial ability that lets them roll a d12 and reduce the amount of damage they just took by that number. Barbarians get Unarmored Defense and Rage, allowing you to take half damage from physical attacks and deal more damage with strength attacks. For stats go point buy, 12 Strength(Becomes 14 from Goliath), 13 Dexterity, 15 Constitution(Becomes 16 from Goliath), 10 Intelligence, 13 Wisdom, 10 Charisma. Your Rage feature represents your quirk for the most part, which grants you a +2 bonus to your damage, meaning your strength can be a tad lower than normal for now. Plus, these stats let you do the multiclass you're planning, which means it's a tad necessary. Monks use their fists to fight and can also Deflect missiles which is a similar ability to the Goliath racial, allowing them to roll 1d10+Dex+Monk level to reduce the damage of a projectile by that amount. If the damage becomes 0 after being reduced, you can throw the projectile 30 feet at an enemy. I'd stick around 3 levels of Barbarian for the subclass, and then 17 levels of monk. You get the cool benefits of 17th level monk (1d10 punch die, your subclass capstone) and still get a Barbarian subclass to really round out that part of your build. For Barbarian subclass, go Totem. You're going to want Bear totem, because it means you take half damage from all damage types except psychic (which really works flavorfully) when enraged. For Monk subclass, you want Open-Palm. It gives you some pretty cool abilities, like Stunning Strike and a Self Heal to really sell Kirishima's fortitude.
Now I wanna see your opinions on character builds for Midoriya and Bakugo as well. I've actually already made a character losely based off of Katsuki. Summer Eldarin for that extra fiery-ness, evocation (fire) focused sorcerer. A bit of thunder spells too but that's because they say boom.
I wonder how you would build Deku.... Maybe a Champion Fighter / Open Hand Monk? I dunno, he’s like Superman. Kinda hard to pin down in the DnD system.
Probably a Barbarian who makes heavy usage of Reckless Attack and Tavern Brawler for that unarmed combat and good grappling. If you want Monk levels, go for Long Death. It's hardly Deku's attitude, but the abilities are similar to his high-risk high-reward fighting.
Hmm, what other MHA characters would translate well? Mei Hatsume is definitely an Artificer. Tokoyami's probably a Kenku with that raven's head of his, but I'm not sure what class would best represent his Dark Shadow. Way of the Astral Self monk, maybe, or Warlock with a reflavored Eldritch Blast. Kirishima's Hardening quirk seems like it could be represented very nicely by the way Barbarian Rage is handled in 5e--possibly mixed with Fighter levels? elemental adept does not reroll 1's and 2's for the chosen element type. Instead you treat 1's as 2's for damage.
I would have taken 1 level in Warlock fror Armor of Agathyst and Hellish rebuke to make everyone think twice before hitting you!
I made my d&d character a Todoroki, but I was a LV 3 sorcerer, and only had fire type cantrips ...
Can you do Eijiro Kirishima next?

I would make give him a level in druid. So he can get 2 cantips. Shape water & shape fire (forgot the name lol).that way he can use it more in an rp setting
Druid isn't necessary. He can get both in wizard or with a magic initiate feat. Both are wizard spells.
