Hey Payton, thanks so much for these past few lap guides/setups for the weekly LFM MX5 races! I see your name pop up in the entry list for the races and it always good motivation for me to get up (or down?) there with practice. You've definitely helped cut down the guess work. Thanks again!
Happy that I'm able to motivate you! Hopefully I will see you in a lobby ⚡
Thanks for the video! You are doing a lot for the AC/LFM community with your free guides and setups.
Here is a little tip for the corkscrew: Once you see down, aim for the gap between the third and fourth tree.
At least for lesser skilled people (like me) this is quite helpeful. ^^
Appreciate the comment and the tip for everyone!
Just in time, thanks again, made me gain 3 sec last week ... subscribed.
Thanks very much mate!
Always super helpful and an amazing time to aim for, thank your very much!
Glad it was helpful!
Thx again for the Setup :)
Clutch man! Thx 👏🙌
Thank you for the guide, usefull this week
i like the fact you are using heel & toe
I'm a touge driver at heart 😅
I love the additional commentary on the video thank you
I did a tiny bit of research and i believe that your time may be the fastest on this track
@cristiansimep5921 I couldn’t find one either 🤷♂️
Another masterclass. See you in track.
See you there 🏁
this car is fun to drive!
that's insane mate!
Thank you 😁 Warming up your tires and having good track temps makes a big difference though 👍
@@Paypay22 there must be something... ihave 35.9 as pb but drop other 7 thent looks impossible to me in normal condition
Unlucky on that split a second ago, those red kerbs are definitely killers 😓
@@Paypay22 went wide on the sand and lost the rear😢
Very helpful. Watching your video I realized that there are a few corners that I can pass with the throttle completely down.
By the way, can you make a TRACK GUIDE for the clio? I noticed no one has made a video of it.
Yep I was thinking about it, I definitely wouldn’t be the fastest though 😅
Great guide, I went down from 1:42ish to 1:38 so far but I'm having trouble keeping my tires warm. What ambient and track temperatures do you use?
This lap was done on pretty temperatures, as cold as RSR would allow. I think 10 ambient 14 track maybe. Cold air gives more speed on the straight and the colder track temp can be negated with warming up the tires before the lap. This is a quali lap, because i scrubbed the tires to heat them up first. On LFM race pace without hearing the tires I was hitting high 35 low 36, there isn’t really a lot you can do to keep them warm in the race
Hi Payton, coll video, thanks for guide.
There is no suspension setup on video and when I tryed to download setup its just open Content manager and thats it/ nothing happend. What am I doing wrong.
If you’ve used the link in the description the next time you open the game with the car you should have my setup in the generic tab 👍I'm sorry I didn't notice I forgot to include the suspension info!
Thank you very much!! I thought the h pattern was slower and more dificult
It actually has quite an advantage over paddle shifters!
Great video. I just got started with LFM and while i like the MX5 Cup car i can't enjoy Laguna Seca jet. A lot of blind corners, the red curbs will kill you if you get to close and somehow with a pedal shifter the car is unstable as hell.
I can get a 1:40 with the stock car and it's all about getting 4-5kph more through all the flatout corners. Can't wait to get to any of the european tracks where you don't die instantly you slightly miss a point and can actually take different lines.
Are you struggling with instability on downshifts? If you aren’t already, try to do heel and toe to keep it stable 👍
@@Paypay22 Yeah I still need to learn heel&toe on the MX5. Struggle with the balance of a good heel and not over braking the car. But I really like the car on Brno, Barcelona, or Imola, where you brake primarily for rotation not so much for losing speed.
@@MrHaggyy While it’s called heel and toe, everyone i know who does it uses the top left of their foot for braking and top right for blipping the throttle, so you don’t literally have to try use your heel, so try playing around with that 👍
Why is the RF pressure 1 psi lower than the other tires? Does it have to do with the track direction?
There are more right hand corners so there is a lot of heat going into the right front, and more heat means higher tire pressures. To stay at the optimal pressure, it has to be lower on the setup compared to the other tires
Thanks man, I did my time at 1:41.36 with my own setup.. but this setup and guide going to improve everything.
(Edit) Did you have team that I can join with?
At a 41 you should definitely be able to gain a lot of time! Unfortunately on LFM I’m on a team with friends, but I’m considering making one for all of you guys instead 👍
I cannot get in temperature the tyres, some advise to heat them?
Tengo el mismo problema las ruedas se enfrían según salgo de boxes😢
Hi Payton. Do you make a video with the cdonfiguration of assetto corsa?
Sorry, I’m not sure exactly what you mean by that. If you want my CSP settings, you can have them here: acstuff.ru/s/JWFXKB
Do auto blip and auto clutch make a big difference if you use them?
They take some of the mental load off when you’re going all out
I'd love to know how much time H pattern vs paddles is worth. Any chance of doing a comparison with paddles to see what those of us plebs without a H shifter should be aiming for?
It’s definitely a significant amount, but that is a good idea!
There's an article on race department where one of the Kunos developers says It's not like you're going to gain seconds with Hshifter and clutch. It's more like 2-3 tenths maybe and thats for a highly trained and skilled driver that knows how to use clutch and blip and h shifter. An average driver that uses paddles will probably be faster with them because it will have a more precise and easier job behind the wheel.
If you’re a faster driver with paddles you can definitely beat some H shifter drivers. But at the top end, paddles can’t beat H shifter. On mugello I was losing nearly a full second on paddles, so the difference is definitely there!
Do you play on the public acs mx5 Laguna seca race server on assetto corsa
This was on singleplayer, the main purpose of this video was to provide a guide for people on Low Fuel Motorsport
Wait, you dont lift when shifting? I see the clutch going in but you keep the foot on the accelerator?
You don’t have to lift, it’s called flat foot shifting 👍
@@Paypay22 puuuiiiiisssshhhh fireworks in my head! I never knew this, what's the benefit/drawback of doing so?
@jufejufinho You’ll lose less speed when shifting, I have my clutch set to max out at 15% depression to shift faster as well!
The drawback is that if it was in real life you’ll probably cause some damage to the car lol
@@Paypay22 loooooool you just earned a sub
Thanks mate 😁
God of racing. I am 1:45 laptime and this looks foreign to me
Do you check "use extended physics" box in content manager?
Nope 👍
@@Paypay22 I feel like a lot of people don't know about it. I unchecked that box and instantly found 1-2 sec per lap in F3 at Zandvoort. That's an insane amount of lap time
Doesn’t it only work in singleplayer?
@@Paypay22 I'm not 100% sure actually, haven't used online mode in AC before LFM. That option can be used globally or for a specific car in CM. Test it out
I googled a little bit and seems like the server host would have to go out of their way to enable it to work online, and I don’t think it is enabled on LFM
Could you maybe link the mx-5 mod that would be very nice❤ thanks for the effort you're putting into these kinds of vids
Unfortunately it isn't a mod and requires the Japanese Pack DLC 👍
@@Paypay22 ah ok than I should have this somewhere. Thanks for the info
Does the suspension tab on the setup menu remain a secret?
I only realised about an hour ago i forgot to include it 😓 Try getting the setup from the link in the description instead, sorry
The missing data: ARB 2 front, 3 rear; wheel rate 51 front 77 rear; height 0 front, 2 rear.
Guys it won’t allow this suspension set up…arb rear range 0-1, and Payton has 3. According to post above me…..its as loose as a goose,
@@walterswdf2how can u get rear arb 3..? My car in LFM allows 1 maximum
Must have been a mistake, believe it should be 1 👍 Can save the setup in the description if unsure
