    I like that a lot! Great way to change the look without starting all over.

    i love this! the original gradient was a cool color combo, but the black marble over top makes it way more awesome and tones down the "loudness" of the neon, which makes it more inviting to me. i might have a reason to go out and get a neon yellow polish now!

    My hubby calls it recycling manicures, his favorite. The gradients was amazing in itself, but the watermarble made it Oh-La-La. I've been dying to get my hands on the clear water. Thanks for sharing!

    After a lot of testing, I have found that NYC - Matte Me Crazy works really well for negative space water marbles. I have never tried Clear Water so I cant compare them but Matte Me Crazy spreads really well and doesn't dry quickly.

      Kathryn I'll have to try that - I think I actually have it already. I also heard OPI Nail Envy works well, which has that same kind of cloudy look to it ... but I bought a bottle of that and then promptly lost it, so never tested it LOL

    I love that. Can you tell me if you can water marble over gel? Once I file off the glossy top coat before I soak off the gel, it's very matte. I'm wondering if I could water marble over it. I've seen a lot of people use regular polish during this step to create designs, just never have seen a water marble gel tutorial... if you know of one, please send me the link..xoxo Lily

    • @MSLP
      @MSLP  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Lily Seymour I've never used gel, but i've heard of people doing reglar manicures over gel so I'd think a marble would work also

    Very cute. Reminds me a lot of ProfessionalDQ. I don't know what's happened to her lately, but I miss her videos.
    The first water marble I ever did, I took tips from both you and her, and I used China Glaze's Rainbow with blue and red on top of white. It did great for the water marbling and added that subtle iridescent sheen to it. Maybe it would work on top of something like this?

    • @MSLP
      @MSLP  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Cynthia Giacalone rainbow is great to marble with - I think that's what I used for both my previous marbles over gradients and it does have a beautiful sheen

    Absolutely cool! The Fairy Dust sets off the colors and the black perfectly. Silly question: will the Seche Vite topcoat work for water marble?

    • @MSLP
      @MSLP  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      kc8ueu I haven't tried it recently, but I think it dried to fast (which makes sense since that's why I love it). Oddly enough matte polishes seem to work well, I'll be using matte magic in the vid I'm uploadin tomorrow

    quick question... I have water marbled my nails for over 4 yrs now, but the one issue I have is finding a clear coat that I can use with black (or any color) so the colored base comes thru the clear as in your video. Any clear I try dries very quickly or becomes sticky/stringy,(great for cleaning floating film off top), but unworkable. Any tips or brands? Thanks in advance!

    • @MSLP
      @MSLP  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've used about half a dozen clears to marble - they do often get dry and/or stringy, if that happens I just try to work with it. There are some clears that are designed specifically for water marbling, like Clearwater, but I unfortunately don't have any of those yet.

  • @diya5270
    @diya5270 9 ปีที่แล้ว

    this video is also wonderful like all the other videos and I have also subscribed your channel but I have an question that is, whenever you do water marble, when you pull out your fingers out of the water and when everything is over, do you apply any top coat at the End?

    • @MSLP
      @MSLP  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Diya Dutta yes, I always use top coat - well, except for a few intentionally matte marbles I have done

    Hi Colette I love all your water marble and manicures but I can not do it for the life of me I have room temperature water I’ve tried different polishes not only that my regular manicures don’t stay on they peel of the next day what should or can I do different or should I just give up please help

    • @MSLP
      @MSLP  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      i also recommend the water be filtered - and everyone's "room temp" may be different, mine is usually in the mid-70's. If your manis aren't wearing very long I'd suggest maybe switching base coats and also make sure your nails are super clean before you start

  • @jinksjeanine

    How do you get your polish to last long enough to be able to work these evolutions?

    • @MSLP
      @MSLP  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      naimadubois Well, they used to not last as long - each version maybe a day. But lately I often wear my manicure a full week, whether I keep it the same or add to it, and I rarely have a problem with chips, I think a good base coat & a good top coat are key
