A little challenge to try out: - Go into the project of a recent track you're pretty happy with - Delete the midi in there, turn it into a blank project - Limit yourself to 4 elements: Melody, Counter Melody, Harmony and Texture/Rhythm - Resist editing/deleting/tweaking for the first 10 minutes, and set a timer. - Just start creating! Just test out putting down the first ideas that come to mind, without overthinking or editing anything. It might not turn out great, but you never know!

I really like the idea to start with orchestral instruments as a contrary to starting with a piano sketch. The latter never worked fine for me. When starting with a piano sketch, it feels less creative and more mechanically-scientific, while using orchestral sections from the start immediately gives a lot of ideas and teases the imagination. Good luck with the course!
@@EvgeniyPetukhovMusic Agreed, I mean I had great results with piano sketches too - but they sound far less inspiring. These days I have pre balanced templates ready to go instead, but I still keep a minimalist mindset focusing on the essentials which I learned from writing on the piano! I also love the spontaniety and creativity as you mentioned. Cheers!
Building up from an initial harmonic bed makes a lot of sense to me, that's how I write. Do you always write this way or, for Action music for example, do you start with melody or percussion bed etc? cheers
@@peterd99999 It really depends! Sometimes harmony first, sometimes melody, sometimes sound design or rhythm/ostinato etc - and in the course I’ve demonstrated 6 different angles of starting ideas for each of those starting points as well, so lots of possibilities!
@@fercomposer mostly the violins here, except the first cello line. But the cello is answering a lot with cpunter melodies so it’s a little blurred (intentionally)

if i got a random velocity,and had written CC1, is that necessary to add CC11?
