    I heard that bromine is gentler on your skin than chlorine and that chlorine burns your eyes because of the heat and that bromine is best for hot tubs. Your video didn't explain these issues. Your thoughts? Thanks

      There is a school of thought, and I do not disagree that bromine does work better in the environment that a hot tub provides. It does work well and I do not think it is a lousy option. I feel it is more work and you have to stay on top of your water balance much more with a bromine system over chlorine. I am not a fan of the smell either. Bromine is a great sanitizer, and I am not suggesting you have to go chlorine I am just stating the reasons I prefer chlorine over bromine. Thank you so much for watching. I appreciate your support. 😀

      @@TheHotTubLady I heard that it is more work. I will be getting my hot tub soon and I keep flopping back and forth between bromine and chlorine. I had a swimming pool and I am familiar with chlorine but I don’t know if inhaling chlorine in hot water is a good idea. I want to go more with what is safer even though I know that both are a bit toxic anyway. Decisions decisions. Thanks!

      @@bloomonlinewithruth I would maybe check out Frog @ease system. It is a chlorine but it is super low like .5 ppm

      @@KBradAdamsa salt water tub
      or pool is still essentially a chlorine tub or pool. Just that you’re making the chlorine at home through a chlorine cell/generator that separates the sodium from the chlorine in the salt (sodium chloride) rather than just buying the chlorine on its own from a store.

    I've always used Bromine. However, I just ordered a new tub and was curious about switching to chlorine. When I go to hotels and such, they seem to use chlorine. I feel like it smells better and is cleaner… idk ideas?

      I totally love chlorine over bromine!!! It smells better and is easier to balance

    So does the weekly SHOCK or oxidizer you listed for a Bromine hot tub, have chlorine in it? I have heard I can or should shock about once a week with chlorine, if using a Bromine floater. Chemicals in a hot tub seems to be so hard and complicated even though everyone says they are not.
    The last thing I want to do it get my wife or kids sick or myself so it is stressful. I want to thank the HOT TUB LADY for doing these videos.....

      If you are using a bromine floater. You should not use use a chlorine shock. You should use miner per sulfate. Spagaurd spa shock not enhanced would be the best for a bromine situation

      @@TheHotTubLady Can you tell me why exactly I should not shock with Chlorine while using a bromine floater in my hot tub? I have been using Bromine Floater for a year now and chlorine shock every week and it works great! Are you saying this is not right? My water is always clear and never smells like anything at all?

      No reason you can’t. Spa Guard enhanced Shock states right on the bottle that it can be used with either a Bromine or Chlorine sanitizer.

    Thank you for this! I've been told that there is no granular chlorine without CYA and in a hot tub it adds up SO FAST so do you know a product that has little (or no) CYA?

    • @TheHotTubLady
      @TheHotTubLady  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Granualr chlorine is going to have CYA its a fact of life. You could use bromine tablets if you wanted to get away from it but I prefer chlorine and I do not think the CYA is a concerning factor. Total dissolved solids will add up before the CYA. Use the chlorine. :-)
