Hoping to get fable omnibus next time I’m at my local b&n, I’m getting a couple of volumes of sacrificial princess and the king of beasts volumes for pickup, highly recommend that series, along with the first volumes of colorless, Urusei yatsura, Horimiya (which I’m also getting more volumes of) and of course I recommend the romcom Maison ikkoku, it can get repetitive but still be enjoyable, all of these I highly recommend! 👍😊
Fable starts pretty slice of life, but it moves into have longer story lines. I binged the whole thing on the k manga app. The goofiness and charm hooked me, then the story kept me around.
Great pickups as usual! I didn't think I was going to enjoy The Fable that much either but I loved it. One of my favorite first volumes in awhile. Devil Ecstasy is definitely lesser Oshimi but still well worth a read for fans to see how his art and themes have improved over time and it's entertaining although ridiculous. I blindly bought some Delicious in Dungeon volumes this month also. It hadn't been on my radar to pick up but the positive feedback drew me in so I grabbed the only 3 volumes they had in stock at Barnes & Noble. I see a lot of the other volumes are due to be reprinted next month.
I’m cautiously optimistic about The Fable, hopefully the hype doesn’t steer me wrong this time. I hope you enjoy Delicious in Dungeon, it totally took me by surprise and I’ve had a blast with it so far!
Lol good luck with Devil Ecstasy! That one is definitely weird, I put it next to Urotsukidōji. You picked up some great titles. Excited someone from the YT gang picking Her Frankenstein. Need the support of entire community to get some of these older shojo horrors licensed. CLAMP X is very good in my opinion, I'd say it's a subjective 8.5/10 and objective 7.5/10 for me. It plateaus near the end and the story is in indefinite hiatus unfortunately. For me CLAMP X is an example of shojo that challenges perception of shojo titles in the west. AND YEY another person who enjoys King of Limbo! - Stronkberry
I’ve really enjoyed the shojo horror manga I’ve read so far. It’s crazy how many there are that we’ll likely never see in English because of how long ago they were published. So I’m happy whenever I see indie publishers giving these titles a chance. I’ve been wanting to try some CLAMP works since they’re so influential and X seems like the one I’m most likely to enjoy. I’m looking forward to it!
Your Forma!!!!! ❤ Hope you enioy it :) Such a great haul and looking forward to your thoughts on The Fable as I haven't bought it yet but I am on the fence about it. Also those Delicious in Dungeon noodle stoppers are so cute 🥲
Your new tagline “I bought it for the robots!” 🤖
That’s always been my philosophy, I’ve just exposed myself now lol
