For thirsty reasons, Hak but in terms of character development I really do love Yona, her growth from spoiled princess to where she is now was so well done and believable!

Hey Cadence! Happy 2 years! I wanted to say that I love watching your videos and manga content. I don't have any manga friends, so watching your videos allow me to have that connection. They are great to watch and even listen to whilst I do other things. I cannot wait for more videos to come :) Also, thank you so much for the giveaway! For YOTD, my favorite charaters are Yona, Shin-Ah and An Riri. Honestly, I think any relationship between Yona and another character is great. I love how she named Shin-Ah and gave him a place to feel comfortable. And his backstory made me cry (actually all the dragons did lol) I love how her relationship with An Riri after the trafficking incident continued to strengthened into a friendship/ally. Especially after she saw how Yona was strong and courageous. I defintely like seeing badass female characters and especially ones with a character development like Yona's.

i just recently read love mix-up this month and it was a fun series! a particular part in the final vol kinda made me crazy but ended up making me laugh in the end XD but ohh i didn't realize it has a live action! i'll have to check it out 👀

Hi!! I'm hoping for the Yona of the Dawn give away 🥰 YOTD was one of the first shojo mangas I've read and I always rewatch and reread the manga (yes all 200+ chapters 😭). My favorite character is between Hak (he just brings a lot of comfort and his love for Yona creates these undescribable lonely achings in my heart) and Joo-Doh because there was a line in the manga that shows his unnoticed fatherly affection for Yona and Hak!
haha that's some real dedication to reread the series so often, but i love that! 🤭 i've been meaning to rewatch the anime and still waiting for the day when season 2 will be announced...bc i hope they will continue it! 😭 ahh yes hak's absolute dedication to yona is unrivaled! and aww this is the first i'm seeing someone say joo-doh 🥰

Hi Candence⭐, for YOTD it is pretty hard to choose a favorite character, i love yona, hak and even su-won :P but if i had to choose it would be Shin-Ah and his little squirrel friend Ao. I love the scene where yona gave him a name. i love that scene because growing up i always liked the moon so that episode/chapter felt really special :D
it was a bit cruel to make everyone choose a favorite YOTD character bc it's so hard, i know 😅 but shin-ah and ao are such a sweet pair. and i love that scene as well. shin-ah isn't alone anymore! 😭💕

Hihi Candence, for Genshin it is pretty hard to choose a favorite character, since everyone is very unique. But if I had to choose it would be Itto. I pulled for him on his first ever banner and I always get excited whenever he's in a quest of an event. He's so fun and hilarious! ❤❤

Probably part of the few, but I really enjoyed Yoon's character. He's very down to earth and I appreciate how it balances some of the other character's chaos lol Theme: Yona of the Dawn~
I had the same issue with Takane and Hana, i just didn't like how she looked like a child and it took so long to get to her 17th birthday. I feel like if the manga started with her being 18 or even 17 would've felt less weird than her being 16. ALSO, I don't know about you but I didn't really like the turn around for Takane when he just started declaring to everyone that he was in love with Hana. I loved him and I get how the situation led to him feeling like he should profess his love for her but it still felt awkward since he was respectful before in stating that he wouldn't pursue her until she was older and then completely disregarding that later on. I just didn't know how to feel about it by the end. Also, was I the only one who thought the part where he went on vacation with her family and they kept shoving the fact that she looked like she could be his sister in law in your face. It felt like the wrong way to address their age gap.
all your points are totally valid! when i think back on how i felt about the series, i always said that liked the comedy more than the romance aspect of it bc like you, i struggled with a few things on that front. i'm certainly not one to avoid age gap romances, but visually, T&H made it hard to get behind their relationship like i normally would with age gap romances 🥲 iirc, the vol 18 bonus was nice to see bc Hana looks and is older. there's def a lot of times in manga where a simple age up would make things less weird for a lot of people. i had that exact feeling very recently bc i checked out Spring Storm and Monster and decided it wasn't for me. regarding your point about Takane disregarding his initial statement of waiting, i kinda just ironically laugh when that happens 😅 i often see when a character is like "i'll hold back" and then they don't lol. and i didn't care for the "we're related" part when they went on a vacation either. i breeze past those. so i do have complicated feelings towards T&H but it's really the comedy that has encouraged me to keep my vols

I love watching your content so much, it’s so calming and inspires me to broaden my collection or rearrange my manga!! I also started getting more into artbooks because of your videos, even tho they’re so expensive😭 It’s hard for me to decide on a favorite YOTD character, because it’s a series I hold very dear and I appreciate many of the characters, but I guess Yona has to take the spot. She’s such an amazing, strong protagonist with personality, I wish we had more like her in the shoujoverse. I’m also weak for characters like Hak, he’s just so perfect in personality and design. Honorable mention to Zeno aswell, I adore him

Hi, I’m a Japanese girl and am curious if you ever read Detective Conan/ Case Closed. Because you seem to like mystery and Shojo, I really think you’ll like the series. Yes the series is very lengthy but I think that it is so worth it. I heard that it is not popular in the West and I don’t know why…The episodic mysteries are very interesting and the main plot and love stories are soooo good, so many good episodes. With great characters. It’s huge in Japan and Asia so I really don’t know why people in the West don’t read it🤔 If you want to test the waters before you buy a lot, I recommend volume 1,2,7,10,18, 19,24,25,26,28,29. Yes it seems random but these have really good stories with some rom-com moments to introduce you to some of the characters, my favorite being Haibara Ai. If you read these volumes and don't like it I'll give up, but please please please you need to try it🥹 Also so jealous of your Jaeha merch😂 Gotta get some for myself, my favorite dragon as well.

@@cadence_laalso many episodes depict a lot of harmless but recent stuff happening in day to day life. They discussed recycling one episode like it was new and kids watching TV with lights off and other stuff. Pretty fun and a lot of humor but I binged watched so many and the episodic snark rubbed off on me for a while 😂. MC is so snarky in his head
lol that's alright if you don't. people should read and enjoy whatever they like regardless of what i say 😊 i did say that i enjoyed the anime and i love the music. i can't really go into detail for every series in my entire collection without it being a 5 hour movie XD
Hi Cadence! 😊 Congrats on 2 years on YT, have been watching your vids ever since I got into manga, and I always enjoy seeing the new videos whenever they are released! --YOTD-- I have been reading YOTD for a while, and it is one of my all-time favorite series, and I currently exclusively own the English manga vokumes. My favorite character would probably have to be Yona, Ao, or Tao. I especially love Yona's story, and seeing her evolve throughout the series. Designwise though, my favorites are probably Mei-Nyan and Abi! All the Yona things such as the acrylics and artcards would be a dream to have in my Yona collection! 💕 Congrats again on having done content for two years! Congratulations 2 years on YT!!🎉 You have a very large collection😯, until 2 months ago I started collecting physical manga in my native language and recently I ordered my first manga in Japanese to study my reading of kanji while enjoying a good story I love your collection and how you organized it by genre and your Violet altar seems fantastic to me, I would like to do something similar with my favorite series one day🥰. As for me, I will choose Yona of the Dawn since it is my favorite manga and anime series and my favorite character I would say is in a constant fight between Hak and Shin-Ah💙

Amazing collection as always! So happy to hear you finished Takane and Hana, I agree the humor is the strong point, and is the reason I'm loving the mangaka's new series, Tamon-kun's B-side. We also have the same favorite BL manhwa with Unintentional Love Story. I love seeing the Arknights figure as well, I was surprised to see Amiya in the background lol. I don't know much about Genshin or Yona of the Dawn (tho I started both) so I won't enter the giveaway, but I hope the winner enjoys the haul. i saw that tamon-kun got licensed for an english print 🤭 and yess a fellow ULS enjoyer! i really love that series and reread it often. i have one other arknights figure and wow the character designs for that game are amazing so it's hard to resist their figures lol. and ohh i do have Go With the Clouds on my radar!

yona of the dawn looks really interesting. I am getting back into the hobby after being out for a couple of years and im thinking about what to get. I will say, all other countries have way better looking manga than we do in the U.S in my opinion.
ohh welcome back to the manga community! i had a super long break at one point of not ready any so it's always exciting coming back and there's tons of series to check out. yona of the dawn is a 10/10 for me. i don't hand out that kind of rating easily. i think it has something that everyone can enjoy--action, adventure, drama, mystery, romance, comedy. it's more so focused on the action-adventure + drama aspect of the plot and has really nice character growth. hopefully you enjoy it if you decide to check it out! i can see how the appearance of US manga can be lacking XD for the most part, i think the covers and spines themselves are generally pretty good adaptations of how the original japanese vols look. what does bug me a lot though are that they have varying heights and the consistency and quality of the prints are so hit or miss 😭 misaligned spines and vols heights that look like rollercoasters on a shelf sigh...

Hi. I'm not sure if someone else may have told you this already, but the later half of the My Happy Marriage anime is largely anime only or vastly different from the novels. I've read the first 6 novels, so I can tell you that after the first few episodes a lot was changed and added that not only didn't happen in the novels, but actually contradicts multiple future plotlines. I would highly recommend reading the novels. I've already given up on the anime. The novels are incredible and the anime does it such a disservice.
ohhh thanks for the insight! no one has mentioned anything about the novels and how it is vastly different from the anime and i'm assuming it is very different from the manga then? it makes me curious about how the manga is doing since i haven't kept up with it since i've put it on the backburner 🥲 very good to know that the novels are the way to go with the series! such a shame that the series was adapted poorly!

For thirsty reasons, Hak but in terms of character development I really do love Yona, her growth from spoiled princess to where she is now was so well done and believable!

For YOTD, my favorite charaters are Yona, Shin-Ah and An Riri. Honestly, I think any relationship between Yona and another character is great. I love how she named Shin-Ah and gave him a place to feel comfortable. And his backstory made me cry (actually all the dragons did lol)
I love how her relationship with An Riri after the trafficking incident continued to strengthened into a friendship/ally. Especially after she saw how Yona was strong and courageous. I defintely like seeing badass female characters and especially ones with a character development like Yona's.

ahh you're so right with all the relationships that yona develops in her journey with Hak. the dragon backstories are full of heartache in their own ways but i do appreciate how yona really made shin-ah welcome so that he wouldn't feel alone anymore 🥺and i'm glad to see some riri appreciation! she reminds me of yona and their sense of justice and effort to rely on their personal strengths are very similar 💕

Hi!! I'm hoping for the Yona of the Dawn give away 🥰 YOTD was one of the first shojo mangas I've read and I always rewatch and reread the manga (yes all 200+ chapters 😭).
My favorite character is between Hak (he just brings a lot of comfort and his love for Yona creates these undescribable lonely achings in my heart) and Joo-Doh because there was a line in the manga that shows his unnoticed fatherly affection for Yona and Hak!

Hi Candence⭐, for YOTD it is pretty hard to choose a favorite character, i love yona, hak and even su-won :P but if i had to choose it would be Shin-Ah and his little squirrel friend Ao. I love the scene where yona gave him a name. i love that scene because growing up i always liked the moon so that episode/chapter felt really special :D

I had the same issue with Takane and Hana, i just didn't like how she looked like a child and it took so long to get to her 17th birthday. I feel like if the manga started with her being 18 or even 17 would've felt less weird than her being 16. ALSO, I don't know about you but I didn't really like the turn around for Takane when he just started declaring to everyone that he was in love with Hana. I loved him and I get how the situation led to him feeling like he should profess his love for her but it still felt awkward since he was respectful before in stating that he wouldn't pursue her until she was older and then completely disregarding that later on. I just didn't know how to feel about it by the end. Also, was I the only one who thought the part where he went on vacation with her family and they kept shoving the fact that she looked like she could be his sister in law in your face. all your points are totally valid! when i think back on how i felt about the series, i always said that liked the comedy more than the romance aspect of it bc like you, i struggled with a few things on that front. i'm certainly not one to avoid age gap romances, but visually, T&H made it hard to get behind their relationship like i normally would with age gap romances 🥲 iirc, the vol 18 bonus was nice to see bc Hana looks and is older. there's def a lot of times in manga where a simple age up would make things less weird for a lot of people. i had that exact feeling very recently bc i checked out Spring Storm and Monster and decided it wasn't for me. regarding your point about Takane disregarding his initial statement of waiting, i kinda just ironically laugh when that happens 😅 i often see when a character is like "i'll hold back" and then they don't lol. and i didn't care for the "we're related" part when they went on a vacation either. i breeze past those. so i do have complicated feelings towards T&H but it's really the comedy that has encouraged me to keep my vols

It’s hard for me to decide on a favorite YOTD character, because it’s a series I hold very dear and I appreciate many of the characters, but I guess Yona has to take the spot. She’s such an amazing, strong protagonist with personality, I wish we had more like her in the shoujoverse. I’m also weak for characters like Hak, he’s just so perfect in personality and design. Honorable mention to Zeno aswell, I adore him
i'm glad my videos can offer some recommendations! there are all kinds of stories out there to discover and i often get surprised when i get a rec which turns out to be a top top favorite after i read them 🥰 ahh yahh art books can be pricey 🥲but you do get a lot of illustrations in them so they're worth it!
and i agree. i do wish we had more strong female main characters. yona's growth is really amazing esp when we look back to how she was before things went downhill 🥺 and zeno deserves the biggest hug 😭😭

Hi, I’m a Japanese girl and am curious if you ever read Detective Conan/ Case Closed. Because you seem to like mystery and Shojo, I really think you’ll like the series. Yes the series is very lengthy but I think that it is so worth it. I heard that it is not popular in the West and I don’t know why…The episodic mysteries are very interesting and the main plot and love stories are soooo good, so many good episodes. With great characters. It’s huge in Japan and Asia so I really don’t know why people in the West don’t read it🤔
If you want to test the waters before you buy a lot, I recommend volume 1,2,7,10,18, 19,24,25,26,28,29. Yes it seems random but these have really good stories with some rom-com moments to introduce you to some of the characters, my favorite being Haibara Ai. If you read these volumes and don't like it I'll give up, but please please please you need to try it🥹

They discussed recycling one episode like it was new and kids watching TV with lights off and other stuff. Pretty fun and a lot of humor but I binged watched so many and the episodic snark rubbed off on me for a while 😂. MC is so snarky in his head

I have been reading YOTD for a while, and it is one of my all-time favorite series, and I currently exclusively own the English manga vokumes. My favorite character would probably have to be Yona, Ao, or Tao. I especially love Yona's story, and seeing her evolve throughout the series. Designwise though, my favorites are probably Mei-Nyan and Abi! All the Yona things such as the acrylics and artcards would be a dream to have in my Yona collection! 💕

this is a very random drop but i would recommend the BL manhwa "you get me going" if you are ever looking for smth similar to haikaveh bc the main couple are VERY reminiscent of them imo aha and it's one of my favs :) it doesn't have physicals but it does have an official english translation on lezhin!

i would love to have the yotd set your giving away, i havent read the manga yet, but is planning on getting it soon. the anime however is just amazing, but i really want to know what happens next. my favorite character has to be Hak, the reason why is that i just love the ml in most of the manga and manhwa i have read. i just get drawn to them, which is kind of funny, though his character is just to funny when he's with ki-ja😅😊

I’d be happy if I could get the blessing of the welkin moon, but if I don’t get it I will still be happy for the one who got it! My favourite character is Neuvillette, I sadly didn’t get him on his release and on his second banner I lost my 50/50 to Jean. I was quite sad but I will continue saving for him! I’m still quite young and my parents don’t allow me to spend money on such games as genshin, so it would be my first time having something like that. Even though I know my chances are low I will still wait in hope to be chosen! ❤

yona of the dawn looks really interesting. I am getting back into the hobby after being out for a couple of years and im thinking about what to get.
I will say, all other countries have way better looking manga than we do in the U.S in my opinion.
ohh welcome back to the manga community! i had a super long break at one point of not ready any so it's always exciting coming back and there's tons of series to check out.
yona of the dawn is a 10/10 for me. i don't hand out that kind of rating easily. i think it has something that everyone can enjoy--action, adventure, drama, mystery, romance, comedy. it's more so focused on the action-adventure + drama aspect of the plot and has really nice character growth. hopefully you enjoy it if you decide to check it out!
i can see how the appearance of US manga can be lacking XD for the most part, i think the covers and spines themselves are generally pretty good adaptations of how the original japanese vols look. what does bug me a lot though are that they have varying heights and the consistency and quality of the prints are so hit or miss 😭 misaligned spines and vols heights that look like rollercoasters on a shelf sigh...

Hi. I'm not sure if someone else may have told you this already, but the later half of the My Happy Marriage anime is largely anime only or vastly different from the novels. I've read the first 6 novels, so I can tell you that after the first few episodes a lot was changed and added that not only didn't happen in the novels, but actually contradicts multiple future plotlines. I would highly recommend reading the novels. I've already given up on the anime. The novels are incredible and the anime does it such a disservice.
ohhh thanks for the insight! no one has mentioned anything about the novels and how it is vastly different from the anime and i'm assuming it is very different from the manga then? it makes me curious about how the manga is doing since i haven't kept up with it since i've put it on the backburner 🥲 very good to know that the novels are the way to go with the series! such a shame that the series was adapted poorly!
