My property is almost 100 years old, no damp, not drilling holes in the brickwork for damp coursing it does not need it

Hi Sam , I’ve just bought a house which the bank survey put down a “ damp “ retention of £5k as the house was left alone for 2 years and nobody living inside it , I’ve been using a electric dehumidifier and heaters on , the “damp” which is actually condensation 95% has dried up , what would you recommend my next steps to be , dry zone membrane?

@@dampsam looks like lime mortar to me they look like imperial size bricks. Probably be repointed in sand and cement no need for this damp injection system

Doesn’t depend on anything. Rising damp is a myth and you know it.

What do you do instead? Ive been told i have rising damp in my porch, its a mess and smells horrible. Damp company say they need to do this, as well as take the plaster off.

@@Linda-rn7pg Damp companies want to sell you expensive works. Do your own research about 'rising damp' and then you should be able to work out the real cause of the problem and solve it. Start with gutters and soil levels.

Amateur! Professional should seal bottom off wall to ground level with hydroisolation ! 1 injection , paint , stick polimer isolation , cubic wrap, and on end should be 20 cm gravel around the wall to help get out moisture from walls.
