@@HPSupport Thank you again. The only other problem is that this Spectre 13 shuts down the moment I plug in the charger. Step 5 solved the problem for my HP Envy x360. My first Envy needed to be replaced because issues like this kept happening. I have had bad experiences with this computer.

Hello Sir i'm looking for the problem to fix from weeks but i can't find any solution even your methods are not working. -first of all i tried to search touch screen and pen in the windows start but it doesn't show any of these keywords. -then i tried to reinstall the touch screen drivers but when i opened the Human interface devices there is no touch screen driver only two drivers are installed there with wireless button and one more so this step is also a failure because i cannot update or uninstall driver because there is no driver. -Then i tried to run the UEFI Diagnosis and there i found the hp touch screen test and the touch was working fine and passed the test. I remember when i bought laptop i play touch games on it i don't when all the touch options was removed from my windows 10 because uses touch screen of my laptop after a long time and this happens my windows 10 now has nothing about touch screen even my laptop have a touch screen build-in😭 Kindly Help me Please.
Very nice but you didn't discuss two important last possible issues. 1. Earthing leaks in the body of the laptops can cause the touch screens to go haywires and cause ghost touches and other random problems which are fixed as soon as you unplug the cord. so motherboard grounding and other issues need to be addressed. 2. sometimes, there is a hardware problem with the touch screen. a bad cable or something similar. so if all of the tricks failed, then you need to get it fixed via repairs or unfortunately replacements.
@@omgxtay972 🙀hopefully, you had a cheaper fix. like, just a cable problem. normally, the screen or sensor itself is not damaged to get it replaced. 99% it is just a cable fault.
I think i might have damaged my screen's cables 😢The display broke, but the touch worked fine. I ordered a new display, replaced it myself and now that i assembled everything back in, turns out only a corner of my screen works, and some othe parts of it work but I have to press harder. ¿Any suggestions? @@dircegomez1521 any repair guy around? Sometimes we are overlooking things. A fresh overhaul can find a way. Granted that something didn't go bad. If the touch works in some parts and in some parts it needs pressure only means that the capacitive layer is not right or damaged. It should work perfectly or if cable is lose or driver is not loaded correctly then not at all. Half working screen only means the touch is faulty.

How do I get any help? Tried to contact support - no reply. My HP elite x2 1012 g1 touchscreen display doesn't work at all after the latest major windows update. I've already tried everything - drivers, hard reset, new bios - nothing helped. The problem is - it doesn't work even on boot stage, but there is no error, the touchscreen module is detectable and said to be working. BUT IT DOES NOT) Touchscreen worked just once for a few minutes, when I was simply browsing for the issue solution. I rebooted my device and touch never worked again after. ANY HELP, PLEASE??

Hope this helps to fix the issue if you pass the info to your software troubleshooting department. After my Windows updated itself to ver.20H2 and my touchscreen stopped working I noticed a new item in the Device Manager -> Other Devices -> MAP MNS-instance. It was shown as if giving driver error. I tried updating drivers, but it didn't change anything. Today I suddenly realized - right after I DISABLED this item MAP MNS-instance my touchscreen WORKED till I restarted my PC! Now even reenabling and disabling of this MAP MNS-instance doesn't make any effect. But when I switched off Bluetooth it started working again!! And again just till I restart the PC )) It would have been funny if it wasn't so sad for me No idea whom to report this to, but I extremely angry at Microsoft breaking my pc during the presentation right in front of my client! Please, I do really rely on your assistance.

My laptop is not touchscreen but still has tablet mode option...why is that so??? And once I saw that in pen and touch screen setting it came as Touch support with two touch points but after some days when I checked it again it was written as no touch support available for this device!!

Please help me, I'm on a 3 year old HP ENVY - 15t-as100 CTO and my touchscreen is not here. It's not in device Manager or anything no driver updates nothing. Hi @HP Support My Touch Screen for x360 G2 stopped working after Windows Update. Tourch Screen Driver is missing in Device manager, Wacom Device in HID shows "This device cannot start. After much troubleshooting, unfortunately, the issue appears to be a total random screen hardware failure (random in that it suffered no physical harm such as drops, spills etc.) Being just outside the manufacturer's warranty, HP refuses to support without costly repairs. For this reason, I would advise anyone considering HP touchscreen products, to look elsewhere.

@@HPSupport Thank you again. The only other problem is that this Spectre 13 shuts down the moment I plug in the charger. I think I've seen shutdown.exe run, and it seems to occur when the battery is getting low. If you've got a solution for that too, then I'd be ultimately grateful! Cheers, Jonathan

Hello Sir i'm looking for the problem to fix from weeks but i can't find any solution even your methods are not working.
-first of all i tried to search touch screen and pen in the windows start but it doesn't show any of these keywords.
-then i tried to reinstall the touch screen drivers but when i opened the Human interface devices there is no touch screen driver only two drivers are installed there with wireless button and one more so this step is also a failure because i cannot update or uninstall driver because there is no driver.
-Then i tried to run the UEFI Diagnosis and there i found the hp touch screen test and the touch was working fine and passed the test.
I remember when i bought laptop i play touch games on it i don't when all the touch options was removed from my windows 10 because uses touch screen of my laptop after a long time and this happens my windows 10 now has nothing about touch screen even my laptop have a touch screen build-in😭

Very nice but you didn't discuss two important last possible issues.
1. Earthing leaks in the body of the laptops can cause the touch screens to go haywires and cause ghost touches and other random problems which are fixed as soon as you unplug the cord. so motherboard grounding and other issues need to be addressed.
2. sometimes, there is a hardware problem with the touch screen. a bad cable or something similar.
so if all of the tricks failed, then you need to get it fixed via repairs or unfortunately replacements.
That's what I think happened to mine 😭
@@omgxtay972 🙀hopefully, you had a cheaper fix. like, just a cable problem. normally, the screen or sensor itself is not damaged to get it replaced. 99% it is just a cable fault.
I think i might have damaged my screen's cables 😢The display broke, but the touch worked fine. I ordered a new display, replaced it myself and now that i assembled everything back in, turns out only a corner of my screen works, and some othe parts of it work but I have to press harder. ¿Any suggestions? TIA

Sometimes we are overlooking things. A fresh overhaul can find a way.
Granted that something didn't go bad.
If the touch works in some parts and in some parts it needs pressure only means that the capacitive layer is not right or damaged.
It should work perfectly or if cable is lose or driver is not loaded correctly then not at all.
Half working screen only means the touch is faulty.

How do I get any help? Tried to contact support - no reply. My HP elite x2 1012 g1 touchscreen display doesn't work at all after the latest major windows update. I've already tried everything - drivers, hard reset, new bios - nothing helped. The problem is - it doesn't work even on boot stage, but there is no error, the touchscreen module is detectable and said to be working. BUT IT DOES NOT) Touchscreen worked just once for a few minutes, when I was simply browsing for the issue solution. I rebooted my device and touch never worked again after. ANY HELP, PLEASE??

@@HPSupport Thanks mate! After trying everything from the page that you noticed(nothing helped) I found a weird solution that worked for me for a few minutes (then back to darkness). Hope this helps to fix the issue if you pass the info to your software troubleshooting department. After my Windows updated itself to ver.20H2 and my touchscreen stopped working I noticed a new item in the Device Manager -> Other Devices -> MAP MNS-instance. It was shown as if giving driver error. I tried updating drivers, but it didn't change anything. Today I suddenly realized - right after I DISABLED this item MAP MNS-instance my touchscreen WORKED till I restarted my PC! Now even reenabling and disabling of this MAP MNS-instance doesn't make any effect. But when I switched off Bluetooth it started working again!! And again just till I restart the PC )) It would have been funny if it wasn't so sad for me
No idea whom to report this to, but I extremely angry at Microsoft breaking my pc during the presentation right in front of my client!

Please help me, I'm on a 3 year old HP ENVY - 15t-as100 CTO and my touchscreen is not here. It's not in device Manager or anything no driver updates nothing. I even updated my bios to the newest f.64 update. Please help me as I don't know why I lost my touchscreen. In control panel device and printers I right click on my laptop and says need troubleshooting (driver error). It has something to do with my I2C HID device it has on warning and says This device cannot start. (Code 10)

I have a problem with my hp pavillion 360. As soon as i turn on my laptop the touchscreen starts malfunctioning popping up multiple tabs. Hello, i have hp elitebook x360 g3 and my touch screen broke and i replaced it with a new one with the help of repairs, but the touch screen doesn't work anymore, i tried all these steps and the "about" shows that my new screen is indeed a touch screen, when i try the uefi diagnostic test it doesn't show the components test after i press the f2 ,
Also after i uninstalled the touch screen drive and restarted my pc , the touch mouse doesn't work anymore

I purchased your smart friend help thing for 18 dollars just for them to tell me you guys can't do anything about this and that not even the extended warranty could cover this issue. You didn't help me, i told you before that step 3 "Configure the touch display" when i search for "Calibrate the screen for pen and touch input" i can't find it in my laptop and you only replied with a link that didn't help me with anything, how should i solve my problem ?

Mine in UEFI doesn't show what you have said, it only have memory test, storage test, hard drive language and exit. Nothing more. It's Windows 11

Nothing is working I checked the Hardware Diagnostic UEFI and it didn’t even show a touchscreen option after the component test. It was literally working fine a day ago
I went on device manager > Human interface and the only thing that flagged is the Intel(R) Precise Touch and Stylus (Intel(R) PTS) - Base Driver - Port #1
It’s showing: This device cannot start. (Code 10) STATUS_DEVICE_POWER_FAILURE
If this does not work then can you just trade me this for a new one i really need a computer for work I cannot afford to waste time

Any suggestion for Chrome OS users? Specifically HP Chromebook 14-da0000 x360 ? touchscreen is 100% unresponsive and remains disabled after power washing, OS updates, etc. The social media HP support team continues referring me to Windows based troubleshooting so any help is appreciated.

@@HPSupport Thanks for the response. After much troubleshooting, unfortunately, the issue appears to be a total random screen hardware failure (random in that it suffered no physical harm such as drops, spills etc.) Being just outside the manufacturer's warranty, HP refuses to support without costly repairs. For this reason, I would advise anyone considering HP touchscreen products, to look elsewhere.
