You know what that battle needed more of? Extreme close-ups! Yeah, thanks camera and editing team. Next year use only super zoom lenses so we don't see absolutely ANY of the really impressive moves!
@@vupham5252cross one and renegade both are heavily biased towards traditional styles like Roxrite or Victor and always biased against unique bboys like Differ, Lil Zoo or Bruce Almighty
Roxrite typical set: some top rock, bunch of footwork, lots of upside down freezes and threads. Usually short sets. Differ is very tall and lanky. I'm not sure the outfit he chose counters this effect very well.
They both did great in this battle, I don't see why everyone is complaining. If two bboys kill it in a battle like this, we should be enjoying what we get to see and congratulating whoever moves on. This battle is just too dope to be arguing over. Props to both and the DJ.
@@diseasefire bro he had almost no footwork his last 2 rounds. The third one he literally was flopping. He has good tricks but his fillers suck, it looks really sloppy...
@@liemduong6729 he looked sloppy because he was tired bro but he's definitely a great dancer, check his videos he's got great musicality and originality
I agree with everythin you said homie, The main problem is that e-boys who dont battle/ go to competition, have a handful of favorite bboys they like to watch online, and when there bboy doesnt do well they get emotional and start to hate. Also anyone who takes what cros1 says seriously aint to familiar with the bboy scene. He's not the most liked person and your right he does have favorite bboys he likes to promote.
That linear spin by Differ at 0:44 was amazing ( check out my TH-cam freestyle dance and original dance move the Flip Kick: RAMON HART'S PERFORMANCE OF A LIFETIME ).
hes right every judge is looking for one thing the elements dynamics flow battle originality and differ has that but was way to tiered and didn't give it his all so yes he was really breakin to his standard
i think the guy your commenting to has a point though.if you look at differ's 2nd round,it doesn't really fit into any bboy category:uprock, floorwork, power,or freezes.it just looks like he's throwin out a bunch a moves and poses.while rox bboy(ed) to the beat using all categories and then some original moves.but I guess i gotta be one of those five judges to see that.
I think everyone has own opinion, that's not the problem about winning or losing in this battle, The bboy that you vote for not the bboy that the others like. So, whatever, Roxrite, Differ, who is your best bboy, that belongs to your opinion, don't argue about this shit because it doesn't matter. Keep voting for the one you love, don't try to beat down any bboys out there, respect them, and respect yourself, I think that's the most important thing, respect your thought and your feeling, ok!
The producers of the show told me to call it how I seen it. Its what I saw. What I thought. I have my views you have yours. Ive seen things develop from the 80's to now. I actually think Differ is dope he's hype he's got moves but watch the video again and listen to what Im saying. I wasnt dissing the dude at the time I was watching I was saying what I felt no holds barred. I can play it safe and play the middle but I just did what they told me to do.
lol, commentators talking about "Ohhh, you can't beat roxrite without footwork" "roxrite is the bboy's bboy" gtfo. roxrite is good, but i never liked him like that.
Me too.. They say he never crash lol he don't do hard enough moves so there would be a chance of crashing. What his flag freeze. How long he hold that? Never more than 2 seconds. His moves are similar though. Most of time he does head spin then shaking body left-right and then end on one elbow freeze, one hand freeze or flag freeze... No flip, no flare, no air flare, no suicidal, no threading, even his top rock are basic. He never does hard or kind of top rock that requires more energy and they say he never crash... 😜😝😄 Some will come and say he is bc one champion 😂😂. Now we all know how good Red bull BC One and its decision is. Even he crashed doing a Freeze too but they voted Roxrite over Lil G in BC One 2011.
@beefygremlin1 Bro, Cloud is Differ's inspiration, but he doesn't bite one bit. There's a battle of them against each other from 2009 and their styles are way different.
in my opinion cros1 had it right..and how you can you he's say he biased when he was one of the few older cats to vouch for flexum when he started offf. flexum is one of the dopest style heads in the US scene right now..but even flexum had all his foundations...
Well one of Differ's biggest inspirations is Cloud, so that's where we all see the influence.. If you saw when he battled Cloud at BC One 2009 you can see the differences and similarities in their styles. It's just inspirational influence, he was still original with his own Differ flavor.
im pretty sure that differ is not copying cloud sure their styles are the same but its not like when they both started bboying that back then in korea differ said to himself,(as a kid) theres a kid named in america named cloud....i wanna copy his style its all coincidence for all i know, but then again some people say that differ was around earlier like he started earlier than cloud did idk...
execution: roxrite was extremely clean...while I noticed differ repeat some footwork moves..and definitely crashed once...Foundation:Roxrite all day and with the lack of footwork and power differ displayed little of either. Roxrite was definitely more wellrounded. the only thing I would give to differ is his explosive flava and crowd pleasing tactics..other than that Roxrite was just as original as differ.
If you wanna talk about versatility, then Differ was definitely the more versatile bboy/dancer. Doing footwork doesnt show versatility. You have to look at the movements and the concepts/ideas. Differ showed way more different looking moves (true versatility) than roxrite did. Differ is doing what he wants to do, dancing the way he wants to dance. That's the way bboying should be done. He doesnt need to work on his footwork if that's something he doesnt want to present to the world.
Man stop hatin, Yeah differ had those moves back in 08, along with almost every other bboy thats been in the game for a while, everyone keeps there moves including roxrite. You keep talkin about foundation, differ has foundation its just a different style but all his foundation is there, as far as cros1. You do realize he aint the most liked person on the bboy scene right? Differ wasnt invited to ibe multiple times for no reason. If you aint at his level dont hate
Well, some people in particular complains that "he's not really breaking too much". That's Differ's style (they didn't call him "Differ" for nothing.). In bboying there is style and that's part of the dynamics of it.
It's time for bboys to evolve movement and its context; if exposing the bboyworld to new formations and vocabularies through a unique sense of movement means leaving out a little bit of footwork here or there than so be it. It's not like we are or should forget about footwork or the foundations of bboying, it's quite the contrary-- that we use them to create newer and more diverse elements. Bboying is like poetry, and we shouldn't reject certain poets for not using enough of a letter or word.
they all have different opinions its all about the way they think here's my question can anybody explain me how is it that shorty forced beat differ in the Red Bull BC One Asia Pacific Qualifier and at the rio's final differs makes it to the final battle and shorty force does not even make the first round doesn't makes sense. here's another question what if differs first battle was against junior? all his "ORIGINALITY" wouldn't matter just saying
differ really didn't do any breaking.to me his first round was the only round where he did a little dancing.his 2nd and 3rd was just huge jumps and poses
Yeah, Cros sure knows what he's talking about....that's why all but one judge voted Differ over Roxrite. I know how long Cros has been around. He's known for being biased towards certain bboys. Roxrite being one of them.
Feel like im watching these battles from a helicopter. Differ was really sick in this, and i think its the best i've seen roxrite in a while. tough call but differ for me, purely because i was always looking forward to what he was going to pull off.
you can see him mess up elsewhere. i know he is a beast, how he comes down with this great flow and calmness in battle...i admire his dance. but i dislike those myths about the bboy legends and roxrite crashes like every other bboy. i watch his battles, hear the music and by knowing most of his moves since 2012 and how he pulled them i know, when something does not go as planned. he hides it well though
He was bboying the whole time. Whatever he was doing is part of his style. You're limiting the definition of bboying to foundational moves. Bboying is so much more. He was bboying the whole time.
Differ and Roxrite won this, camera man lose.
omg.. stupid camera.. I'd rather c cam version of this
differ reminded me of cloud in bc one 2009... similar styles, made it to the finals but seemed to run out of energy at the end
You know what that battle needed more of? Extreme close-ups! Yeah, thanks camera and editing team. Next year use only super zoom lenses so we don't see absolutely ANY of the really impressive moves!
"Can't be roxrite with no footwork though." -Beats Roxrite.-

I love differ’s style it’s so unorthodox

Rssnkgp02 quick freestyle is the way certain bboys get down personally i like quick sets
