Kid David has all my respects. I love how he genuinely gives props to Junior. I think David had a chance at the beginning but losing to a legend like Junior is nothing to be ashamed of. One of the best battles of BC One 2012
Still Kid David style is more reminding to a bboy ;-) , Junior is great his huge moves very athletic, but I missed the elegance and flavoured small moves that is remarkable in Kid David style.
Kid David are not with good situation on this battle, and I think Junior angry about Kid David keep doing short round and easy move r not respect the battle. However he maybe focused more on music and dancing but this is world final, u can not just do short round like only 10 sec and only playing freestyle.. same problem with Kleju.

I'm glad Redbull got commentators for BC1. Now I can listen to know what's happening in the battle while the director is filming the crowd, or doing extreme close-ups, or filming the parking lot.

Big props to Junior actually. If anyone noticed, he really expanded his arsenal quite a bit since the last i saw of him in 2005. He added mills and headspins to the set.

You're right. Real bboys may take time off, but the music and the dance always pull them back to the floor. I know I'll probably never be great, but I can't help the urge to dance when the right song hits.
Foundation Is Freedom. Junior is a legend because he is free, unique, and nobody's clone.
This is an epic battle. Both did really well at what they do. Different style is hard to judge. Really different ways of dancing but both hit beats and had style.

Flag spins aren’t anyone’s signature. It’s just a hard move to pull off, which is why Junior and Physicx are well known for pulling off very nice flag spins
well he has really skinny legs from when he had polio as a kid. that's why he developed upper body strength to compensate and strengthen his moves
For something with this amount of money in it they sure fucked up hard with there camera angles.

I don't know a lot about Bboying, I respect the game because I think that these guys are amazing. I notice that Junior does not have the greatest 'flow' and he is not as 'synchronized' with the music as other Bboys, but I still liked his sets more than Mounir's. As for Kid David, I think it is weak and a slap in the face of all the fans not to try, if that was really the case. You can't just give up.

If kid David's sets wee longer I feel like he coulda taken it
his footwork is on point
Junior didn't have to go all out, but he did. That's pretty much why Kid David didn't even try in his last sets. Junior used almost all of his signature powermoves because he knows there's no other way to beat Kid David's musicality. Although, he did save some of his other planche tricks for Mounir which wasn't enough for Mounir's musicality. So Junior basically knows that musicality is his weakness so he saves his best sets for bboys like Kid David and Mounir.

Both of them were really dope. However, Kid David was hitting ALOT of beats and in the book of bboying, listening and being smooth with the music is what is firstly important. Had Kid David's sets been longer, I think the winner in this match would've been different.

Junior listened to the music just as much as Kid David.. Just because he didn't do lots of footwork doesn't mean he doesn't listen to the music... Easy win for Junior.
kid david's top rock is so dope
with footwork and transitional turns. He hit the freezes and other moves right on time. Junior smiled a lot and was very critical when clearly it is the judges job to do that. Junior's first set hit very few of the 4 beat and it looked very sloppy. He tried to keep catching the 1 and 2 beat, but then threw himself around and then did signature moves that's weren't rhythmic. Breaking is about representing the music with well established moves that have been perfected and that can be displaye

Kid David was robbed. That thread that he did into the stance looking back was a great move that is unique. Junior needs to do some tops and footwork, yet his powermoves were unparalleled. Ehhhh...Kid David is the more complete breaker of the two because embodied the spirit of the origins. More than the moves, its important to represent the music. I respect both competitors a lot. It's not easy to do what they do.
if you watched alot of bboys for hour youl see that! what gets boring for junior doe is he doesnt use the music at all so sets are just combinations that dont alter!

@CafeDeArtistes Footworks are simple? Typical e-boy comment. If you want to do professional footworks, that's extremely hard and technical. Everything in bboying is, if you want to perform on top level. Toprocks, Downrocks, freezes and powermoves are all hard to perform.

Like I said, judges have to judge on many aspects of things in a battle. Originality, Technicality, Musicality, Flow, Transitions, Cleaness, Rythem and most important of all Expression. This wasnt a fair judging to be honest. Most Bboys would agree, but yeah... If junior win then he wins. Cant change past but this will help change better judging in the future.
I agree that he listened to the music. Kid David just represented it better because he was more rhythmic with his footwork, and he used a lot of the classic B boy freezes with his own flavor. He was merely quicker and more accurate most of the time even though some of the camera angles make it difficult to be certain of it. I respect your opinion, but disagree that it was an easy win for Junior . Look at the way that Kid David hit the big beats and then filled in the spaces

Junior's form is different. Also you can say physicx is biting orb. But he isnt. We are getting inspired by moves and we changing it to different forms. Thats not bite. Anyways, junior was doing hes flag way earlier than physicx even came on the scene.

one of the judges was storm he's been to more Jams than you've eve been he gave it to Junior. At the end of the day it's BCOne its catered to a different crowd and it's aim isn't to find who the best bboy is for 10 rounds of cyphering but who can do the most spectacular run. And if it come down to being real why don't boys like roxrite, wing, differ, menno, taisuke who are all legitimate beasts and are part of respectable crew boycott the event out of principle?
yeah i know who Bboy storm is and i know how much of a big deal he is but junior has been doing the same sets since bc one 2007 i think and dont bboy like roxrite and all the others say that its not about making full sets and its not about explosive flips and stuff its more about dancing to the music and feeling the music even storm says that thats why i think its bullshit not saying that junior is wack or owt all im saying when people have put like junior destroyed kid david he hardly did that you may be a fan of bboy junior i dont know but im sure dancing is about feeling the music and to me it didnt feel like he did i just think people need to truely understand what dancing is. and if the event is really about who can make the most spectacular run then really this whole entire establishment need to sort themselves out that's my opinion though.

I'm not disagreeing with you on that, Kid David is a beast and he murdered the beat and flowed on point. I prefer Kid David's style to Junior's I'm just saying for what BCOne is I can see why the judges gave it to Junior.
