Recently bought some recommended stocks and now they are just penny stocks. There seems to be more negative portfolios in the last 3rd half of 2023 with markets tumbling, soaring inflation, and banks going out of business. My concern is how can the rapid interest-rate hike be of favor to a value investor, or is it better avoiding stocks for a while?
The truth is that this is really not as difficult as many people presume it to be. It requires a certain level of diligence, no doubt, which is something ordinary investors lack, and so a financial advisor often comes in very handy. There are a handful of experts in the field. I've experimented with a few over the past years, but I've stuck with ‘’Aileen Gertrude Tippy” for about five years now, and her performance has been consistently impressive. She’s quite known in her field, look-her up.

Anadolu Efes is a Turkish beer company that owns 50% of Coca-Cola Icecek (which is the Turkish bottler/distributor that operates across the entire Middle East and Central Asia).

Paul, I truly want to thank you for all your wise video and the mental strength they have provided me (and I'm sure many others). For the first time after almost 2 years my portfolio is "green", and, yes, I hold meaningful size of Chinese stocks that dragged the numbers down. But even in the most red times, I slowly built that strength and didn't panick, and thanks to wise picks made following your ways of thinking I've turned the trend. And I don't mean of "copying" your purchase, but the process and mindset developed. Actually besides Baba, I don't think I own any of "your stocks".

Hello from İstanbul. Coca Cola İçecek - producer and bottler in EMEA region. Anadolu Efes - beer in Turkey, Russia, Kazakhstan, etc. TAV havalimanları - airports management in many countries.
Hey brother. I worked overseas for a decade and spent alot of time working for a company in Ankara. One of the plants was located near the Efes Beer plant. Great people in Turkey and some of the hardest workers I’ve ever had the pleasure to work with. God bless and hope your inflation comes down with the increase in interest to 50 percent that was announced.
Is it a set 1.25%? Or could it reduce the more assets the fund gets. Pretty common that a fund with $50M has a 1% fee but then it gets up to $100 or $250M and its down to .7
Ebay has been around literally since the internet, I don't know how much more value they have to offer

Topicus is a Constellation Software spin-off. It's the same business model but operating in Europe. Tiny Ltd is also a serial acquirer of mostly software companies. I've made videos about all these companies and founders on my channel.

Constellation Software is the Canadian tech version of Berkshire Hathaway that no one’s heard of and Mark Leonard wouldn’t have it any other way. I think there’s only one known interview of him and they stopped doing earnings calls years ago. 33% CAGR over a 20 year period……unreal.

Paul serious question, if spy or genenral etf gives us 9-10% per year, how is that true? Lets say you buy in March and spy finsishes $490..you buy at $520, i dont get it. Isnt it all about at what price you buy? i know we cant time the market.

It used to on average over time. Chances are this is not going to be the case anymore. Specially from these levels.

These guys will help you find value traps
Mohnish uses a synthesis of a couple different investment tools. Mostly he's known for looking for off the radar names with a long runway. But another thing that he's been toying with for a few years is his Uber Cannibals model. Basically strong companies that are doing large buybacks. That's where a few of these names, like Ebay, come from.

Just to add that the 2 first and biggest companies in the list from Turkey most probably are traded in "turkish lira". The inflation there is 50% and i really don't know what is the real value of the companies in usd. You may see huge increase in % and when converting in usd no returns..

How you evaluate a company. If its price is over what you think it’s worth, and you’re sitting in the green, you might sell. That’s easier said than done. I’ve watched so many companies run 50% higher than when I sold. It can be depressing, but watching them tank later is satisfying. lol
@@soonermagic24 yes, that is a strategy that can work. Like you mentioned sometimes they continue to run and sometimes they eventually fall back down.
@@notredave02 if you plan to hold the stock forever than you don’t worry about it. If it’s a short term investment look at technical analysis and treat it like a swing trade. I don’t think this is Mohnish’s fund. This fund includes businesses which someone else (creator of this fund) thinks Mohnish owns. Mohnish has always said he has 10x10 portfolio and clearly there are more than businesses here and also companies like Amazon, eBay, Microsoft etc. would have appeared in his 13F if he owned them.

Efes also has a 50 percent stake in Coca-Cola iceick. Which I believe is the biggest coke distributor in that area.

He’s a nice guy w knowledge. However, he made a foolish decision when he placed 100 percent of his investment funds into either Microon or another company and sold when it was low. Please correct me if I’m wrong as I know you’d never do that.
You are wrong. He 2xed. And his original holding was only 10% of his total capital. Never more. Reason you see that high number is because you are only looking at his us positions
@@Pikia666 I didn’t look anything up as I remember Paul talking about how the guy had placed 100 percent into a stock and saying he wouldn’t do it. I’ll try to research later and post Paul’s video w this statement over a year ago
