I'm about to buy the transcription. I have a question though. I'm currently at level 3. Would you recommend any warm-up or exercise before I start learning this song? Thank you!
Finally, this past winter I learned to play Clair de Lune. I am so grateful for my piano teacher who knows my capabilities better than I do. My last piano teacher in college was grading every note I played and my music making became corrupted. At last, in my dotage I am playing because I love it.
Hi Robert… thanks for posting this. Claire de Lune was my first attempt to play a classical piece on the piano, and yes it was a utter failure. But I see that you are using the techniques you recently presented (today is Sept. 7, 2023) in playing this. Maybe sometime soon I can get it into my fingers.
Thank you!! I’ve been working on this one for a while and trying to refine it. Thoughts on using the sostenuto pedal for any sections on the first two pages? Thanks again and excellent, expressive playing!
Robert, is that you're usual speed, all the way through? Or did you play it slower for the video? And the answer is: slower than usual. You played it faster here - th-cam.com/video/FwoSZ-nRTjs/w-d-xo.html
Very nice vid. And very nice sound. With debussy's tune - the change of feel at 2:23 - that part at 2:23 is ultra clever. But I don't think it matches well with the previous section of music. It is like wrong 'context' - as in forcing it. The mood swing is a bit over the top maybe. I modded it slightly to align some moods - such as at: drive.google.com/file/d/13stAxq8Se_lP-hSHZ5DaAwdCLuEgHn9q/view?usp=sharing
