I have Loved Doris Day for years, she was one of my Father's favorite Singers, I guess he at least passed the love of music on to me, she was A Woderful Singer, and Devoted to the care of Animals what A Fine Human Being.
Doris Day began her career as a big band singer. Her later fame as a major Hollywood star has tended to eclipse the memory of her singing career, but she was an exceptionally versatile popular singer with a pleasant, intimate singing style that still resonates over 70 years later.
@@jamesbumbry8358 From what I read online, her son (Terry) died of melanoma in November 2004 at the age of 62. Doris was 82 at the time of his death. As you probably know, Doris died in May 2019 at the age of 97.

I once read that Doris Day had wanted to be a dancer, but those plans were cut short by an accident she suffered, I believe she was in a train crash. So then she sings like THIS...some people got all the talent...

Great song. Ray Noble wrote it and his orchestra had a huge hit with it in the 1930’s. Many people have recorded this of course but my favorite is Billie Holiday’s version.
Hoagy Carmichael on the piano. And not seen is Lauren Bacall who was actually the lead actress over Doris, who was still right at the start of her movie career.
One of my favorite classic jazz movies.... I found out later that it is a heavily fictionalized version of the Bix Beiderbecke story. I didn't quite catch what was going on with his wife, played by Lauren Bacall, when I was young...but she was apparently gay and left him. It was "coded" and not said explicitly in the film.

Yes! Doris Day will be in mind for many years yet to come!
Absolutely one of the greatest female voices of all time.
She's good but Ella Fitzgerald's voice I'd perfect. Doris admitted she copied Ella's voice. And she did
Yes….Doris Day’s voice is just angelic. So beautiful!

Doris Day was so wonderful. What a lovely voice and a truly special lady.
Just lovely......the whole thing just perfect.....those were the days.😘

R.I.P. Doris, what a heavenly voice.
Doris day was especially gorgeous in this movie.

Wow, I love that trumpet break -- that part made the entire movie for me when I first saw the film on television.

At the piano: Hoagy Carmichael. (Rio, jun/26/2020).

Doris a fabulous lady and I loved her
I love how the second time through the arrangement changes even though they supposedly start at the same place in the score. Lol 😆

Doris Day and Hoagy Carmichael on piano
I love you Doris Day's
One look on either actor and you knew they have the looks of a big star.
That they could act help also too.
Kirk was very professional and learnt the fingerings at the trumpet.
Hoagy Carmichael on the piano. And not seen is Lauren Bacall who was actually the lead actress over Doris, who was still right at the start of her movie career.
Bacall was whistling for bogarr

Hoagy Carmichael on the piano, composer of Stardust and many other standards in the American Song Book.
