Ok I believe you. You can play the Baroque guitar. Nicely done. Wow. Some of the most relaxed hands I've seen. Like you've been playing a thousand years.
Your passionate expression and discipline are amazing; the music is voiced as it is intended. I wish more people played like you. Thanks for posting this.
Absolutely exquisite music. It must be awfully difficult to play like that on a double string instrument, but you make the listener forget the effort. Many thanks for sharing.
Now I would think that play to what that degree of sensitivity and virtuosity you would have to practice approximately 75 hours per day. As we all know there are only 24 hours available per day, I would say that there is some supernatural power to this fellows craft. Bravo!
Man. This is music being linked with the soul of the player. So beautiful!!! Ps. I’ts not really the same. But i’m getting a 6 stringed Lute soon. I’m so looking forward to it!
Are the rasgueados reconstructed from historical literary sources, passed down, or are they approximations of what de Murcia an might have played? Thanks!
Awesome playing. I've seen some of your other videos, it saound really great. I have a question. In this video, do you only have bourdon string on the 4th course. It sounds like it but its difficult to see in the video. All best, Lars
Bravo! Is this really a Baroque guitar? I thought they were no more luthiers making this. It sounds beautiful. I loved the piece, the dynamics, very gorgeous matiz. I can feel influence of J.S.Bach on its fugues. Fantastic interpretation!
Reading about Sor brought me here. A text I am reading has a section which goes over the origins of the guitar, and includes discussion on construction of instruments, stringing, composers, their styles. I am really enjoying music by Gaspar Sanz and de Murcia! So beautiful! Thank you! These campanelas, they are beautiful, reminds me of what Lenny Breau was doing with harmonics, though in different ways. Seeing how composers mixed rasqueado in with ponteado and arpeggiations, wow it is amazing, so fluid, so much texture! What is re-entrant tuning?
Re-entrant tuning basically means that partly the double string set are tuned in octaves (mostly at least the d-strings) and the a-strings are both an Octave higher than on a modern guitar (like g-string - 2 fret). The deep e-string is completely missing. If you would sketch the basic tuning of the baroque guitar it would be like a "u".
@@tobiasstudtheol Thank you, and my understanding is now that re-entrant, means that the strings are not tuned 'from lowest to highest.' Diapasons are the long, non-stopped bass strings like on a theorbo. Bourdon is another word that has come up- I couldn't tell from context if a bourdon is similar to a diapason, or if it is perhaps the name of the 'doubled' string?
This guy is an artist. Amazingly expressive and natural - I just love it.
Passion, that's all it takes...no fame, no money behind it only pure passion. Very very good!!!
Grazie Umberto!
Bravo! You can really hear Flamenco's origins. Beautiful playing.
Thank you Jim!
Jim Davidson indeed!

Its my favorite performance.
Bravissimo Stefano! La sua versione mi ha ınspirato e sono finalmente riuscito a suonarla (sfortunatamente su una banale chitarra classica).
Your interpretation brings me closer to baroque spain
Ps: if u dont mind could you have a duet with oud player
Ok I believe you. You can play the Baroque guitar. Nicely done. Wow. Some of the most relaxed hands I've seen. Like you've been playing a thousand years.
Splendid performance, full of "duende"! El Ayre Flamenco fully intended. Best performance ever up to day. Even better than Rosario Cicero

In this piece and other from thus composer and gaspar sanz i hear the origin of my national folk of Argentina
Are the rasgueados reconstructed from historical literary sources, passed down, or are they approximations of what de Murcia an might have played? Thanks!
I think all three and music historians will also use paintings to find out how the instruments were played ^^
EXCELLENT
awesome!
Thank you Carlos!
Bravo!
Really great performance! I would love you to try one of my Stradivari model baroque guitars.
Thank you B4baroque!
Awesome playing. I've seen some of your other videos, it saound really great. I have a question. In this video, do you only have bourdon string on the 4th course. It sounds like it but its difficult to see in the video. All best, Lars
Hi Lars, yes only a bourdon on the 4th course. You are right.

Thank you vargasjj510! Yes this is a copy after Sellas.
Now I want a 5 coarse guitar! What is the tuning of this instrument? Anyway, that playing was awesome!
It's like a regular guitar with the low E string chopped off. And since it's Baroque, tuned a half step down.

Anyone wants to play a sea shanty with this beautiful thing?
