    Did you notice a difference after the replacements of all the mounts?
    Nice video and great job using OEM parts!

      Thanks! And yes, it wasn't drastic but I do feel it. Slightly less vibration but also in turns an handling felt a bit firmer. Since the engine doesn't have a chance to flop around.

      @@RickTroutner awesome! My brother has a 2001 Es300 so I might apply this to that when I have some free time. It can use some work lol

      Great! In a previous repair not in this video I did the rear mount. It was completely shot and there was a major noticeable difference after doing that one. Make sure to check that one out. It requires removing the exhaust to get to one of the studs, if you can get it out without doing that you are very blessed. I ended up snapping one of the exhaust studs and had to get a mobile welder who couldnt get it out, then tow it to a muffler shop for them to fish it out. Not fun. A couple day repair turned into a couple of weeks.

      @@RickTroutner I’ll definitely check that out tonight! Thanks for recommending that. His es300 runs well but could use mounts and struts as well. I’m hoping I don’t run into that issue with the exhaust studs. I hope living in California will help avoid some of the rust issues, but you never know.

    Thank you for this video, I finally found someone who replaced that damper strut, I just replaced my front engine mount, the hydraulic one, because my car clunks when it downshifts at low speeds, I was wondering if you also had this symptom, I suspect maybe the rear mount, but I put a camera by it and shifted from drive to reverse and it doesn’t seem to look like the source of the clunk but I’m not 100% sure, as I haven’t drove around with the camera by the mount I just wanted to see if it was obviously broken, any input would be amazing I’ve been trying to track this clunk down for months lol

      DUDE SAME This is why I tried looking up this video. I figured I wouldn’t find one on TH-cam. I can’t find it anywhere on the Internet. I don’t understand all the hole cuts are wrong!!! I’ve ordered 3!

    Thanks fot the video! I have also been updating my ES and your videos have been very useful, could you please help me with the source where you got those parts?

      Online at a local lexus dealership. I tried ordering the transmission mount on amazon but it was completely the wrong one even though it said it was the "right" fit. It wasnt cheap but Im glad I did it.

    Did you purchase the vacuum tube for the front motor mount separately or it came together with the mount

    Hey where did you get your mount we are having a hard time finding the mount we need it’s on the left side where the driver seats?

      I ended up getting it from the lexus dealership since toyota doesn't have the exact mounts.
      The part numbers are;
      12372-20040 Side Mount
      12361-20070 Front Mount
      12307-20021 Absorber Sub-Assembly

    Before you changed the first motor mount when you would brake would the transmission feel like it downshift kinda hard

    • @RickTroutner
      @RickTroutner  ปีที่แล้ว

      Not that I remember. The symptoms were more of a strong vibration sitting at idle while it was in drive and an occasional clunk on acceleration. Also once you jack it up and take off the passenger side wheel its pretty easy to inspect it. Mine was so shot that enough rubber had come out that the engine was sitting lower than it was supposed to, it was completely detached and just sitting on the metal sleeve that holds the bolt. Thus the vibration.

      I have this hard downshifting issue as well at it creates a clunk noise sometimes, have you figured out the cause of yours, I replaced the front engine mount and it did not fix it, I sorta suspect the rear mount but I’m not 100%

    • @selix9386
      @selix9386 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Well I actually replaced the passenger side half shaft as well as the motor mount in the rear with it, but the clunk is still there when I slow down to a stop and it downshifts from 3rd gear to 2nd, it really does feel like the transmission is jumping below the floor board against the fire wall, maybe it’s the transmission mount, it’s only $20 maybe I’ll give it a try, have you had any luck trying to fix the clunk you have?
