- In this video is shown easy DIY install on F-Series (F30) shift knob on bmw e60 .
Also can be done on E90, E92 , E39 and all older style bmw with stock shift knob .
Warning this video shown is show for DIY for my vehicle we are not responsible for any vehicle damages.

Thanks for the explanation but I would never do this. Just out a carbon sticker on the knob or something instead of messing with the transmission
so basically moves the lights from the trim on the knob itself? Also the P button does nothing or?

Yes the P button on top it’s just for show and the light is basically moved from the trim to the shifter. Hope the info helps. Thanks

Hey I really need help with this. I heard that it messes up the manual mode and it throws the car into 3rd gear while cruising at 6th gear can. Have you had any experience with the manual mode?
Hello, which one is for E63…? Nowhere to find, but i guess it's the same as E60…?
Hi it’s the same one as the E60 will for both that’s what it was said on the Manuel just have to sue the color wiring by the instruction Manuel.

I completed installation correctly, but the light still is still on the trim, suggestions?
Hi so I has similar issue it actually not you fault it’s actually the part you ordered there is 2 different model .
The first knob is just a dummy and no light on shifter just on trim. And just makes shifter look fancy no light up.
The Second model type it lights up on shifter and no light on trim .
So please check your model you ordered and the manual specification. I had same issue so I returned the first one I got and ordered from a different Selller.
the light only works for Neutral for me
Hi, i install the same knob, however after installing it is not locking and it can easily comes up with a small push even without pressing the side lock buttom, is this normal?
Press harder. Also, my one can get out with a bit of pressure, so maybe these knobs are all like that
Hi you have a give it a little force and hear the click and it will be set in and should not come off easily.
I change that shifter. Why my park light stay on and car is turned off
Hi I had the same issue I taught something was wrong and then I realized it stayed on for a minute or two then it turned off on it on. Hope this helps. Thanks

Does the OEM version of this shifter work or do you need to go aftermarket?
@@jamesdunphy2839 OEM does not work it’s only the after market which makes the shifter and light look like the F style the function is same no change.

Do you have to disconnect your battery in order to install? And why does the car need to be in neutral? Thanks in advance
Hi yes for safety you should disconnect the battery’s one of its terminal to avoid any damage to any electronics system. And neutral so you can pull out the shifter knob. Hope this info helps. Thanks .
