Stamps issued for colonies with that design always had the name of the colony, but stamps with the “ comunicaciones” imprint always belong to the mother country of Spain.
Yes! And that one is a portrait of king Alfonso XIII from before 1900... we kmow that stamp series as "pelon" who is an adjective that we use in spain to mean "whitout hair" that stamp its a good one!

Also Scott's catalogs are so expensive. What is your opinion on Scott's catalogs in the way of not having a complete set of one year if Scott's but having som Scott's catalogs that are a few years older along with newer ones?

The Egyptian stamp is EG 79, overprint says 'Kingdom of Egypt'. It shows Cleopatra.
I can only hope to get hold of a bin like that some day!

I understand separating stamps into countries and or topicals, but I am a beginner. How do you glance at a stamp and determine if it is valuable?
