This doesn't make sense as there's no reason for you to slowly disappear as you should just stop existing entirely. Also If Marty didn't exist then there wouldn't be anyone to stop his parents from meeting one another. Which means they would get together and Marty would be born. Marty would then proceed to go back in time and ruin his parents meeting. This would cause a paradox since his parents didn't get together he should cease to exist. If Marty didn't... Well you get it. Also also In the new timeline, Marty stops his parents from meeting how they originally met and still has the memories of his old timeline like when his father telling him how he and his mom met. Does that mean that timeline still exist? Marty freaks out when he realized that he just screwed up his birth and makes it so his parents actually fall for each other while also unintentionally making his father stand up to his bully (of whom will become his future abusive boss). Marty makes a comment that his father had never stood up to Bill before which confirms that he still remembers the original timeline. When he returns he was surprised to see a different present day where his family lives a better life. This means, from the day he was born to going to the past, he doesn't have any memories of the new timeline even though definitely exist. If Marty remembers the original timeline that means it actually existed even though it should have no longer existed. That means the Marty we follow throughout the franchise is the Marty from the original timeline. The question is what happened to the Marty born in the new timeline? The one who's been living with his parents in the new timeline, did he disappear? They couldn't be the same Marty as they should've have had same memories and yet the og Marty was still surprised about the timeline implying he doesn't have those memories. This is just covering the first movie, it gets WAY more complicated in the second and the third movie. I like the movie but it definitely had the most confusing time travel story. I prefer movies like Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban where the original timeline still goes on, they don't change it but it was necessary for them to do so as another version of them did the same things they did in order to preserve their timeline. It's all nothing but a loop, no branching paths, no alternate timelines and no changing the already established past, present & future.
All these modern go back in time stories have in common that they run out of ammo and have to fight like the locals. I know 2 Korean series that travelled to the past but they are both medical drama/comedy. One is Dr. Jin and the other one is Live Up to Your Name. Both series are really good.
I've always wanted to try and make a movie where a large group of WWII American, British and German troops time travel into the future or past and help with a small conflict that leads to a greater one. The idea of seeing a WWII tank group with the soldiers in a modern town or to a small village has always struck me as interesting. Like the Movie Final countdown or Heavily soldiers. Like maybe
The Koreans even though they had a smaller fleet than the Japanese had special ships called turtle ships. These ships were surrounded with armor and were very strong, rather than the Japanese ships that were made of wood, focused more on visuals, and overall very weak and ineffective
@@traderzzz123 This is untrue. Yi did have turtle ships before the legendary Battle of Myeongnyang, but his predecessor Won Gyu (who took Yi's place as the naval commander after Yi was sacked due to court politics) lost them all near Busan in the Battle of Chilchonryang. Unlike in Myeongnyang, Won Gyu was only outnumbered 4 to 1 instead of 10 to 1 like Yi was in Myeongnyang. However, Won Gyu lost 90% of his ships during the battle (188 ships) and was also killed. And yes, there were turtle ships in that battle. Won Gyu still lost though. It goes on to show that Admiral Yi wasn't undefeated just because of his ships and cannons. He was undefeated because he was a damn good admiral that knew how to exploit his enemy's weaknesses while utilizing his navy's strengths.
The Japanese ships were not war ships, but transport ships because like Romans, they used their ships to anchor onto another ship and then send troops over to fight, rather than Koreans who actually had war ships which they used to ram, and the Koreans had proper Naval battle history.
Japan seems to like building vehicles of war with wood while everyone else is already moving onto better armored materials. Like in WW2, they were using wooden biplanes for the majority of WW2. When they attacked the US in Pearl Harbor, they were not ready for the modern, high tech planes we had. They knew their planes were so bad they just told pilots to Kamikaze when they knew they were going down or wouldn't be able to win the fight.
whoever summarizes these movies does a great job! there are some movies that i would never watch but the way you guys tell the story makes it seem interesting
The thing I really love about Korean movies is that I've never seen them portray their communist neighbor as the bad guys nor intend to let them die first. This is the reason why it's called "Freedom world"
@@blackman5867 true, I've met many Korean friends They see the other as their sibling No one but them can only mess with the other, you know, sibling bickering
Yes it's true, South Koreans treat North Koreans like fellow brothers and humans. Only in western films and media are North Koreans dehumanized down to the core.

Why aren't there more movies like this? I believe "Timecop" is the only one I can think of...and that just had one short scene of a future soldier in the American civil war. There are endless writing opportunities for this genre. So why aren't there more of these types of movies??
@@iceberg789 I thought about that..but ...I have to be that "Ackshually" guy on the internet. Technically...they didn't go to the past and also the enemies had weapons that far out paced the soldiers guns. That being said, it's as close to this movies premise that I can think of. In that line of thinking though... Army of Darkness would be on that list too. I just want a movie about a platoon of modern Marines in the Revolutionary war, or even against Alexander the great. Something where they would absolutely dominate. ....maybe that's why they don't make movies like that... because there would be little to no adversity.
They're not a very good selling plot for the consumers, more people wants a Hero played by a celebrity and kills everysingle enemy they encounter because of plot armor and all that bullshit There's also the lack of movies about normal nameless soldiers that Got into alien invasions and shit, remember Cloverfield? I always love the concept where modern day people travel back in time and meet one of their greatest historical heroes. Only to find their hero doesn't quite meet their high expectations.
So North and South Koreans go back in time to aid a legend of their unified country's past, and in doing so, they resolve their differences and fight as one Korea. And in the end, the nuke makes it back but the leaders of both N. Korea and S. Korea don't care about the fallen soldiers that helped shape their country's history all due to incompetent modern leadership/ political pettiness. It's a great film in my opinion.
I don’t think those generals were part of the tiktok generation (being probably over 40 in 2005) but yeah, it seems every military leader these days has an underlying political agenda or is just there to get paid. Long past are the days when military men fought for honor. This is mainly due to WW1 and 2, which were the first ‘modern’ wars, where honor and nobility stopped mattering, and it starting coming down down who had the best gun and were good at using them. Then nukes completely threw the whole concept of war upside down. Nowadays it’s better to avoid war at all costs to avoid another Hiroshima… But then again I say that in spite of the efforts of the Ukrainian military in the Russo-Ukraine war, so thankfully there are still some true patriots in this world
Original for this concept was the japanese movie "G.i. Samurai" from 1979 and another from 2005 "Samurai Commando Mission 1549" with a great opening scene. For me the best one was the 2006 Live Action TV JDrama series with just 2 episodes but each had a length of a movie called "Sengoku Jieitai: Sekigahara no Tatakai" and I love how both the movies and TV series involved soldiers time travelling along with their only helicopter, APC, Main Battle Tank, Military issued Toyota Jeeps, and Dirt Bikes in the warring states period of samurai due to a natural/scientific phenomenon unlike fantasy/magic with the Anime Gate. Now Gate is a great new take on the concept in medieval setting for a change but with fantasy and anime form and am here still waiting on season 3 :D. However there is another anime more realistic than "Gate" id more recommend but is so underrated called "Zipang" from 2004 with modern weaponry like the JSDF Mirai Destroyer time traveling to WW2! Now Imagine "what if" the japanese had a destroyer capable of launching nukes before hiroshima and nagasaki ever happened? There is a similar story to this also and its an american live action hollywood movie called "The Final Countdown" from 1980 with the USS Nimitz Aircraft Carrier sent thru time before Pearl Harbor happened! These titles are all so underrated and needs to be known but there is no shortage for this fun concept ^_^
whats really sad about modern koreans is that they were once brothers once unified country until both separated each other they forgot the cultures and their ancestors way sure they didnt go back to the future but they stayed and together again and fought the japanese war protect their homeland
I’ve always been intrigued by the concept of modern militaries traveling back in time or to a fantasy world. Anyone have any good suggestions for media using this concept?
I read the manga version of Gate. There's also a similar themed manga (edit: I scrolled down the comments and found the name, Zipang - which also had both manga and anime), and at least one manhwa with similar plotline also but I forgot the titles (been reading so much comics nowadays). Just gotta Google them titles or plotlines (time traveling army/military novels/comics/movies). Have fun!
Im happy people are catching up on this again but while gate has been great as an anime... id recommended a good live action tv series with the same premise of being transported in time due to a scientific phenomenon with soldiers but also along with their helicopter, APC, Main Battle Tank, and Military Jeep sent into japan's warring state period! The TV series is "Sengoku Jieitai: Sekigahara no Tatakai" from 2006! Good luck finding where to watch it online tho! There is the original "G.i. Samurai" 1979 japanese movie and "Samurai Commando Mission 1549" movie from 2005 for your time travel modern military appetite but id advise the 2006 TV series! :D
In a 2005 Survey, 43.8% of koreans considered Yi the most important korean figure of the past. I do not know what the remaining 56.2% where voting for, but they were probably split among multiple figures.
King Sejong + Admiral Yi Sun Shin are the most important figures in Joseon history which is why they are the only two statues in Seoul in front of the palace.
Love how the NK soldiers sacrificed themselves because they knew they're going to die anyway... Meanwhile the superiors didn't even care F those brave soldiers *o7* Admiral Yi, what a chad. Defeating the Japanese with 13 ships and suffered very minor lost. Didn't even lose a ship xD
@ERRATAS 0202 China won the war, but only because Joseon persevered long enough for the Chinese to intervene. Even before China joined the war, Joseon had won a number of key victories to keep itself alive (Siege of Jinju, Battle of Uiryeong, the rather successful guerilla campaign of Korean militias, and the failure to secure southwestern Joseon by Japan). Also, if you're claiming that the Battle of Myeongnyang was a fabrication... I suggest you look at the Japanese sources. Even they admit that Admiral Yi completely whipped them during the battle and there isn't any evidence to suggest that Yi's records of the battle were fabricated. Heck, he actually gave conservative estimates in his personal entries.
That is a movie I really want to see. While in the US Army I was in Korea, and I know the high estate Yi is held in. I've only seen this recap, did they show the ships with metal plating, or would that have been later, inspired by the two 21st century guya.

It also seems to encompass every human emotion like real life and makes you wonder about time travelers and past wars. If this movie is ever remade, I'm definitely seeing it.

And we the people of all countries are still wounded from those scars ...... And the best part is we all see wach other as our eternal enemy .and that feeling will never be lost .... But noone cares about those who lost everything and suffered the most from partition ...... That one scene where yi makes them realise they have same motive to fight They are not as NK and SK but as korean .....
I recognize a few of the people in this film and I am not even all that knowledgeable in Korean cinema, though I am working on it. Seeing the dude from "Train to Busan" actually makes me think this film will be about twice as good as I had originally thought, just by seeing him. This might be an older film, but Korean films are pretty high quality, especially lately, its probably worth checking out.

The man must fuse his advanced technology with the weaponry of the vikings to fight the monster. It’s not time travel but that’s the plot. The main actor is Jim Caviezel who played Jesus Christ in the movie The Passion of the Christ.
Interesting concept, but if time-traveling soldiers with modern rifles were mowing down soldiers who only had swords, spears, and bows, this wouldn't even be a contest. The numerical advantage makes no difference when the guys to your left and right are dying at great distances to seemingly invisible attacks. They would have no way of knowing how ammunition worked or that these soldiers only had a limited amount of it, so they would turn tail and run. Every time.

He was undefeated because he was a damn good admiral that knew how to exploit his enemy's weaknesses while utilizing his navy's strengths.
are you Japanese? Cause you sound mad. Koreans won so cry about it
The Japanese ships were not war ships, but transport ships because like Romans, they used their ships to anchor onto another ship and then send troops over to fight, rather than Koreans who actually had war ships which they used to ram, and the Koreans had proper Naval battle history.
That is propaganda., Those ships were stolen from the Japanese
Japan seems to like building vehicles of war with wood while everyone else is already moving onto better armored materials.
Like in WW2, they were using wooden biplanes for the majority of WW2. When they attacked the US in Pearl Harbor, they were not ready for the modern, high tech planes we had. They knew their planes were so bad they just told pilots to Kamikaze when they knew they were going down or wouldn't be able to win the fight.
whoever summarizes these movies does a great job! there are some movies that i would never watch but the way you guys tell the story makes it seem interesting
True
The most unbelievable thing is North and South Korea being so cooperative with each other like that.
Well if you get transported back in time and you have no clue where you are, the more reason to cooperate with people from your time
The thing I really love about Korean movies is that I've never seen them portray their communist neighbor as the bad guys nor intend to let them die first. This is the reason why it's called "Freedom world"
@@blackman5867 true, I've met many Korean friends

Yes it's true, South Koreans treat North Koreans like fellow brothers and humans. Only in western films and media are North Koreans dehumanized down to the core.
@@blackman5867 They portray them bad in lot of movies but, there is still hope for both sides to unite as one country. So movies like this make them brothers etc. There was another I forgot the name , South and North Koreans fight defend one village from Americans. In that movie when they were anninhilated by u.s bombers one soldier shouted " We are Korean soldiers" , without North or South , meaning they are united in times of peril.
Why aren't there more movies like this? I believe "Timecop" is the only one I can think of...and that just had one short scene of a future soldier in the American civil war.
There are endless writing opportunities for this genre.
So why aren't there more of these types of movies??
stargate.
They're not a very good selling plot for the consumers, more people wants a Hero played by a celebrity and kills everysingle enemy they encounter because of plot armor and all that bullshit
There's also the lack of movies about normal nameless soldiers that Got into alien invasions and shit, remember Cloverfield? The scene the dumbass main character search for his girlfriend or some bullshit and then the US army comes in with 2 freedom tanks and a MRLS against a 20 metre tall alien with soldiers on foot only firing rifles hoping to god they'll hurt the bastard a little and kill the fucker.
Sometimes i wonder why our ancestors were far more patriotic then our tik tok generation
Nowadays it’s better to avoid war at all costs to avoid another Hiroshima…
But then again I say that in spite of the efforts of the Ukrainian military in the Russo-Ukraine war, so thankfully there are still some true patriots in this world
amazing story
Mystery recapped is having a time travel arc, and I'm loving it
Original for this concept was the japanese movie "G.i.
Very accurate analysis. Thanks for your research !
Zipang has a lot of war denial bs in it.
Are you telling me G.I. Samurai created concept of time slipping into the past? kek.

Watch the Outlander. During the reign of the Vikings, a man from another world crash-lands on Earth, bringing with him an alien predator.
Every time.
