I lived on walnut Avenue I left for Vegas in 1979! I graduated trenton central high school nineteen seventy five!! I can't believe the old neighborhoods.😢😢😢
Sad to say but the City has gone. I went to St. Joe"s elementary on N. Olden Ave and Trenton Catholic Boys high, I walk back and forth from E. State bus station and never ever had a problem, now I am not sure I would venture around like that. Left for colllege in NYC and stayed there and worked.
It's an old and reliable strategy. Land Developers buy : ¹ Old established (and Key) Family Businesses and Properties, ² Service Properties (= Banks, Pharmacies,), Tenements... In the interim, Entrepreneurs Lease business properties. Then, after a few years they're priced out of business via Rent Increases. The local economy suffers and residents have to travel for necessities. It continues until the Neighborhood dies.
Best thing one can do to change these areas is to keep re-electing and electing the same folk. Over and over and over. That will definitely, absolutely help

When your young and lack self awareness you look for you’re identity in other people, as you get older and experience life, you realize “AINT NOBODY STRAIGHT” out here. NOBODY!!!! Very sad to see many towns falling apart from drugs and unemployment !
Our government gives drugs to addicts it does not help the problem!
