This guy needs to know his worth, don’t look at detailing as an hourly job, think of it as value added to your customers life. They pay for the added value not hourly rate, it hurts me to see you charging $80 for this biweekly maintenance, not only is this not a normal size vehicle, it’s an entire business on wheels, you need to have a quoting structure, not a flat rate structure, scalability and profitability are going to be near impossible with your current business model. You should be charging at your hourly minimum of $100, so as you said, you expect it to take roughly 3 hours, you should be charging $300 as well as a hair removal fee, I’d say another $40 at least. It seems steep at $340 but I’m truly saying this to show you how much you are giving away the prestige you call for as a detailer, there is scratch and shine car washes in my area that charge $80 a month for 2 automated washes. Don’t let the want for customers make running a very potentially profitable business keep you working a regular job hourly rate, you want to attract customers that are willing to pay the premium not customers that are looking for the cheapest guy, at the end of the day you need to go out and find those people anything that costs you more product, more time, more effort, should cost the customer, you’re not doing charity work, you’re running your business, constructive criticism not hate, hope you take it in and restructure a bit.

Man I wouldn’t touch this vehicle for any less than $200 first time wash and clean it’s not a normal vehicle on the inside and you have special cleaning conditions. Maintenance should be $100 per service on minimum. When I first opened my detailing business (almost 4 months ago) I was charging $50 to detail car and $60 for SUVs, trucks and vans. I quickly realized that wasn’t gonna work especially spending some much on chemicals. I eventually raised my prices at one point they were to high for my area and no one wanted service so I lowered them significantly and started getting work yet I’m still the most expensive in my area by $25 and I get plenty of work to keep me making at least $1k per week. I have grown my business in only 3-4 months I have done 35+ detail jobs already (vehicles and boats) have over 100 people that like my page and I have become well known for what I do. But if I were still charging as low as I started I wouldn’t have grown this fast because I wouldn’t have been able to invest and grow. Know your worth brother and raise them prices and make some money! It’s a lot easier to start high and lower your prices than it is to start low and raise them and take the chance of losing those customers. Also remember this, good work isn’t cheap and cheap work (mostly) isn’t good. Best of luck on growing and grinding.

Eventually though you are going to have to raise your prices.. especially if your driving a certain distance.. If your hard working and have stamina and discipline and you stick at you eventually get rid of all the low ballers ... that will put a smile on your face.

    $200 inside and outside

  • @evanvienneau156

Brother, honestly wuality work isnt worth $80. Please understand that your worth is much much higher than that. When i price out a detail i go on first charge of 200 flat per vehicle for inside and out. Add ons like hair removal and wax will be extra. Bi weekly maintenance will be 150 because you are giving them a favor by coming out ti their location and doing the work for them.
