    I just installed mine , took off the one side panel , cluch cover , dust cover behind church , installed it , put dust cover back , cluch cover back , and aide panel , you didn't have to take all that apart !

    • @SometimeIsNow
      @SometimeIsNow  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey Louis, Thanks for stopping by the channel. 👍🏼 You are correct, you don’t have to take everything apart. I had mine apart because I was doing additional wiring by adding a GPS conversion plug and USB plug inside the glove box so I needed everything apart for it. I was showing where to grab the power front he factory Accessory plug. I guess I should have better explained myself. Did you make a video of installing yours? That would have been great for others to see how you did yours? Take Care

    Thank you for this video, it was very helpful. I have a factory installed plug and it was working intermittently and seen slightly loose. After seeing your video, I realized that you can tighten the plug just by turning the cap. I will try this and see if it solves my problem.

    • @SometimeIsNow
      @SometimeIsNow  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey jpaul,
      Thank you for watching the video. Great to hear the video helped. Just reach up under the console and hold the bottom part with one hand where the wires are and use the other to twist the cap and it should tighten right up. I’ve had to retighten mine a time or two so it’s not uncommon. Take Care 👍🏼

    • @jpaul4595

      Can you tighten without removing the hood to reach under console? can you just tighten from the top side?

    • @SometimeIsNow
      @SometimeIsNow  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@jpaul4595 Yeah should be able to just tighten the cap without holding the bottom just make sure the plug itself doesn’t spin a lot when tightening the cap. You don't want to twist up the wiring to much.. 👍🏼

    I didn't have good luck with that thing. That plastic nut/cover stripped as I was installing so I used a coax cable cut ( same thread ) and a washer to tighten then used the plastic nut/cover just as a cover. Then the 90 degree cable they give you was defective ! Man bad luck. I finally got it working properly this winter . I really think a stronger design is needed especially at the cost of the darn thing .

    If I wanted to use that assessors plug for adding USB power in the dash extension do you have to get some sort of splitter?

      @SometimeIsNow  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Michael, Thanks for stopping by to check out the video.
      Yes.. Grip-N-Rip offers two different splitters. One for a single accessory and one for two accessories. I purchased and installed the 2 accessories splitter and powered my dual port USB charger in the glove box and my GPS.
      Here's the links to both splitters:

    • @SometimeIsNow

      Hey Gianluca, Thanks for stopping by the channel. All I can think of is a plug got bumped and unhooked or you forget to plug something back in when you reinstalled the hood? That happened to me once. I unplugged a sensor and forgot to plug it back in and the check engine light came on when I fired it up. Just doublecheck everything’s plugged in. 🤙🏼 Take Care.

      You should post that video either way. That's good instruction that people probably want. If you get the 7.8-inch full-color display it has a GPS when connected to your phone using the BRP app. So if I happened to order that then I wouldn't need my Garmin anymore.
