Thanks for the video … I followed your instructions and was able to replace the cord on my predator generator and get back to playing music on the street in Boulder
You just saved my night, and probably month, as I am living off grid in no where Hawaii and when my string broke I literally cried. You got me up and running in a few hours!!! Thank you thank you, you wonderful man!!! (This fix works exactly the same on a Wen 56200i by the way).
This should prove to be a useful and helpful video with a view count that grows year after year. Instructional videos are still a huge hit on TH-cam. Might want to add more keywords to your description though ;p
Of course my job didnt come out like the videos on TH-cam. The 3 bolt on the pull cord are just turning and not backing out. I now need to take apart the whole thing😢
I have a question about this generator predator 2000 watt. Mine I took in to have it looked at and they said it has to do with the side of generator?? He couldn't give me any more information just referred me to someone else but can't look at it until September. I know this is a far reach without looking at it. Do you have any idea what it might be. when turned on the red overload button comes on with no load on it and makes a awful noise running?
Sorry you are having trouble. I have no Idea. If the overload light is coming on with no load, and it is making a horrible noise that would sound to me like a generator/inverter problem. Sorry I couldn't help more. I assume it is out of warranty. Let me know how you make out. wish I could be more helpful.
So who else is having a issue with 2 of the 3 recoil bolts not backing out like the should. First time mine ever needing to replace the rope due it breaking in a emergency usage situation. If these 2 bolts don't come out there's no possible way to fix it and all I have is a paperweight.
@@THand141Homestead I gave up for the time being. A friend is loaning me his little White Westinghouse generator for the vendor show we need it for from May 31st - June 2nd. I put everything back together for the time being and when I get back I will have the time to disassemble and get it going again before going on and disperse camping. Gotta have it to run the Mrs. Cpap machine.
@@wetpresidents I ended up having to remove all the bolts that hold the entire cover off. Found out the 3 metal threaded sleeves broke loose from the plastic housing. It was a pain to get the entire cover off and rewind the spring/rope. I bet yours did the same as mine did. Having smaller hands or skinnier fingers helps out but hopefully the arthritis doesn't need to interfere like mine always does. So just try to tighten/snug the 3 bolts backup on the recoil. I believe there's 4 bolts and a couple nuts to remove the entire cover. Very tight for space. Just have patients. I di get i all figured out/ put back together and it was running better after I removed thw Emerald Ash boarer from a vent hose. Those are an evasive speacies here in Michigan.

@@THand141Homestead i appreciate that. do you know how I can test the inverter?
@@darmatm9416 no, that would be a higher level of maintenance knowledge than I have.
So that's how you hurt yourself 😂😂
Just one way of many! LOL

Did you get them out eventually? I never had a problem with mine other than it took forever because of the tight space.
