Great reaction - Pink Floyd is not just music, they give you a whole experience. Generally you should listen to a whole album in one sitting as the songs will often run from one into the next.
I have heard it said that Dave Gilmour, the lead guitarist, can get more feeling and emotion from one note than most guitarists can get from a whole song. This version of 'Comfortably Numb' at the Pulse shows was definitely a good one for you to hear him and Pink Floyd for the first time.

This guitar solo has been rated in many polls as the best of all time and I agree. It's incredible what David Gilmour can do with his Stratocaster. It always hits you right in the heart.
There are many versions of this song here on TH-cam (and I've probably seen them all) and notice that David always plays the first solo the same but the second solo is different every time. And it's a real treat every time! And in many other songs Gilmour proves what a fantastic guitarist he is.
"Sorrow" (from the Pulse concert), "Marooned" (original video), "Coming Back to Live" (original video), "Echoes" (Live at Pompeii), "Time" (studio version), "Mother" or my favourite "Shine on you Crazy Diamond" (original animated video) and more and more - these are all songs that if you listen to, you will never leave Pink Floyd. You'll find that Pink Floyd is not just a musical group but a philosophy of life. The combination of Roger Waters' profound lyrics (from the pre-1968 era) and the impeccable instrumentation of Barrett, Mason, Wright and Gilmour is timeless and familiar. Whoever it hits, it never lets go. I'm a shining example of this and I'm glad that even today's young people are returning to true "classical" music...
Please excuse my English - I'm from the Czech Republic. I wish you all the best in these hectic times.
And just a little warning for future reference: if you don't want to annoy true Pink Floyd fans, never (NEVER!) pause the video during a guitar solo. It's a mortal sin ;-).

It was this song that made me want to learn how solos and melodies work. I still think it's the best guitar solo ever, partly because it's not about going fast but emotion and creating a theme in the solo.

Honestly i don't think there is a best, Clapton on White Room or Crossroads, then you can move on to Jeff Beck. Its very personal, and that again can depend on your mood.

It's called the Gilmour ( yes this is the proper spelling of his surname) effect. When people can't agree on what is better a flash shredding guitar solo or an emo bending Gilmour guitar solo. The middle guitar solo is regarded by many of his peers as the greatest solo ever. The production value that goes into pink floyd music including live is the best you will ever hear. No one tops them.

I see in your face the same joy I expressed the first time I heard the music! The same happiness in the musicianship. Go for it! Listen to all of it! There are two live albums you should give a listen to: "The Who: Live At Leeds" and "Frampton Comes Alive". The last one was featured in one of the "Wayne's World" movies as a gag, where Wayne says jokes about everyone having it. "It came with a box of Tide" (laundry soap) he joked. But he was right. The Pulse concert from 1994 is an amazing musical and visual experience, and I also recommend you check out 'Sorrow' from Pulse. Thought you'd enjoy this epic piece of guitar work. I saw them live in 1975 and 1989 and they always put on a hell of a live show. One of the first bands to use lightshows of any description, back in the 60's. Other epic songs with great guitar work from Gilmour would have to include 'Shine On You Crazy Diamond' and 'Wish You Were Here', though there are at least 6 superb albums and a few more very interesting ones but the one to turn the lights off, relax and lose yourself in for 45 minutes would be the album 'Dark Side Of The Moon'. It was made 49 years ago last week and I think it's been on the Billboard 100 albums charts ever since. Also worth watching the incredible song 'Echoes', played live at Pompeii, Italy, which is a masterpiece. Also David Gilmour's solo albums have some superb songs and, as always from David, incredible guitar work.

I was 21 years old in 1979, the year that the album The Wall, which had this track on, was released. This is one of my most favourite songs of all time. This performance of it, is truly epic and it's such a pleasure to have observed you as you watched it. I gave it another dimension watching someone have the reaction to it that I have. I have always listened to it alone as It always makes me weep. I am 64 years old now and as I write this, it still has the same effect. If anything it is much more poignant now as the years have had their way with me. It is a reminder to me that I am not alone in the universe. From now on, I shall always say 'ambiance' in the way that you say it, in your native French. It sounds so much nicer than we say it here in the UK. We probably appropriated it from the French language anyway. Please consider me as 'subscribed' and a supporter. With very best wishes...

    Echoes: Live at Gdansk
    Or
    Echoes: Live at Pompeii
I prefer Gdansk, last performance of the song by david gilmour and richard wright (RIP), i see it as a culmination of their lifetime of making music and it is a goodbye of sorts between them, pompeii is awesome as well, done 30+ years before gdansk in a roman ampitheater with no crowd, just them and the ghosts of pompeii
    Also listen to:
    Wish you were here
High Hopes: live at pompeii (2016ish)
    Time
    Money
There are a bunch more, but these are good places to start.

For those who do not know where the name “Pink Floyd” came from…… Syd Barrett - original founder of the band had two favorite Blues Guitar Players in his record collection, two black men, “Pink Anderson and Floyd Council”. One came from North Carolina, (Pink) the other came from South Carolina, (Floyd).

When that disco ball opens David’s guitar absolutely screams out like a soul in deepest anguish and despair. That moment never fails to bring tears to my eyes. His guitar becomes almost human. Just incredible and completely unmatchable

This isnt actually the real Pink floyd version of this song. The only version of this song thats genuine is the version off The Wall album.
This is "Pink Floyd" without Roger Waters. Saying this is Pink Floyd is like saying you can have the Beatles without John Lennon. YOu cant.
And this isnt even a good version, because only Roger Waters - who was there backstage to pick Syd Barrett up again and again and get him on the stage (and Gilmour replaced Barrett after LSD screwed Barrett's brain) - can sing the doctor's part of this song. This version is crap. A lot of newbies are listening to the post 1984 "Pink Floyd" and thinking its the real thing. Its not.

I was at one of these concerts in 1994, it was just unbelievably good. You miss some of the sense of scale with this video due to the constant overlaying of images but some of the wide shots do show it better. You owe it to yourself to watch the whole Pulse concert, even if not for your channel, set up in a dark room with your favourite drink and just let the whole thing roll over you.
Otherwise you might want to just look out Sorrow and The Great Gig In The Sky from the same concert.

David Gilmour can play a single note and have it sound sublime and grandiose; this is his greatest skill!! As far as vocals... he does exactly what the song needs; nothing more nor less!! Overall? It's never been about how phenomenal he is... it's been ALL about how tastefully he uses his voice, guitar effects, string bending techniques, finesse and style!! Is he the greatest guitarist ever? No. He however takes you on a journey with him, the song and his guitar!! Pink Floyd & Gilmour are The G.O.A.T.
Pink Floyd was formed in 1965... their (most likely) last album was "The Endless River" in 2014. PF had 15 studio albums... 3 live albums, 9 compilation albums not to mention multiple live dvds and solo albums performed by below members of the band.
Syd Barrett (short-lived founder; guitar plus) the originator and quirky eccentric; inevitably the consequential muse. * January 6, 1946 (rip 2006)
Roger Waters (bass) was the cultivator (seed sower), the lyrically conceptual prodigy, secondary vocal and co-maestro of songwriting * September 6, 1943 (age 78 years)
David Gilmour (guitar) was the placidity, guitar virtuoso, the silky smooth voice and co-maestro; the equilibrium. * March 6, 1946 (age 75 years)
Richard Wright (keyboards) was the essential underlying symmetry; musical nurturer. Occasional singer. * July 28, 1943 (rip 2008)
Nick Mason (drums) was the heartbeat, structure and foundation; the sole member involved from the emergence of PF to the last recording. * January 27, 1944 (age 77 years)
FYI: The following Pink Floyd albums are Concept Albums (all songs together tell a complete story)... Dark Side Of The Moon (1973), Wish You Were Here (1975), Animals (1977) and The Wall (1979). The Final Cut (1983) is ify, as it was the last album with Roger Waters being in the band - leaving in 1985. *search on Wiki the album title to get the story behind the concept.
I myself suggest the following EPIC 10 live songs; the studio and "Brit Floyd" versions are phenomenal as well!! : 1) "Shine On You Crazy Diamond" 2) "Hey You" 3) "Us and Them/Any Colour You Like/Brain Damage/Eclipse" (all 4 parts) 4) "High Hopes" 5) "Time/Breathe Reprise" 6) "Dogs" 7) "Sorrow" 8) "Pigs (3 different ones)" 9) "Welcome To The Machine" 10) "The Great Gig In The Sky" 11+) There's so many... !!
Fun Fact: "You don't need drugs to enjoy Pink Floyd but you definitely need Pink Floyd to enjoy your drink and drugs!!"
If you like Pink Floyd as much as it seems, sadly there is only ONE WAY you're going to see their music "live" in concert (2021+) other than an older dvd (or maybe Waters or Gilmour solo in concert; they're getting old my friend)... more importantly hearing the songs done exacting to the studio albums adding a very good example of the "live" light show... you may wanna check out the following group that's IMO far better than a tribute band!! The subsequent track is superbly performed by the tribute band "Brit Floyd" ~ Gilmour, Mason and Wright have said, "If they themselves wanted to see PF live, the only way that could ever happen is go see these guys." th-cam.com/video/RnHu3D8stGE/w-d-xo.html (one song from an entire 155 minute concert of PF Bliss; see comment at link for other tracks)
Final Note: Pink Floyd have left us the embodiment of their musical journey to share, enjoy and reflect upon. * always listen to Pink Floyd with headphones or an awesome sounding music system.

Roger Waters (Bassist; left PF in 1985) and Friends did a live concert of the entire "Wall" double album in Germany (1990) right after the wall came down; very historic!! The stage was at least a block or more long... th-cam.com/video/ohrFzuuUyi0/w-d-xo.html
Here is the Wikipedia explanation of that concert: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Wall_%E2%80%93_Live_in_Berlin

80's guitar - Judas Priest, have 2 guitarist that do lead and Iron Maiden has 3 that do lead, both bands have excellent lead vocalists too... 70's and late 60's guitar - Led Zeppelin with Jimi Page guitarist. Black Sabbath with Tony Iommi guitarist, the riff master. Cream with Eric Clapton guitarist. Deep Purple with Richie Blackmore guitarist, also later with Rainbow... Other great guitarists from these decades - Alvin Lee, Robin Trower, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Jimi Hendrix, the one who changed how the guitar was played in the late 60's.

Pink Floyd is perfect for you, since you seem to like the guitar so much.
For a next reaction from Pink Floyd, I highly suggest the song (Time) in studio version, with lyrics.
This song is part of the album (The Dark Side of the Moon, 1973), which is listed in the Guinness Book of World Records,
for the number of consecutive weeks (736) in the top 200 Billboard selling albums.
The album has continued to appear sporadically on the Billboard 200 since then, with a total of 958 weeks on that chart as of May 2021.
It is also to date, the 3rd best-selling album worldwide (between 45 and 50 million), all categories included.
