I thought the same thing but unfortunately my One R suffered overheating every 20 or so photos, and constantly lost connection to the app (Android user, Pixel 4) which is required to use the camera. I wanted it to work. Apple phones might have better connectivity but it still wouldn't solve the overheating.
welld0ne welld0ne I’m considering between the insta 360 1 inch vs GP9. I’m not sure if you can help me because you seem to have it 3 questions on things I’ve read on Insta360 1 inch: 1) max record time of 28-29mins because of overheating. Does that improve if using an external battery pack? 2) When using external battery packs, you need to press the ON/OFF every 10mins? Means, I can’t leave it alone to record a 2 hr footage? 3) Are there any recording gaps when shooting longer videos? I.e. the cam saves the video into smaller blocks of 30mins and are there any gaps between those files? Usage will mainly for my drumming footage for concerts and as an action cam also.

Not worth to upgrade. I thought the MAX lens mods would be something interesting, here I see is totally useless, bulky and pricy (99USD???). I will keep my Insta360 ONE R for action and my Sony for professional projects, worth every penny

Fantastic review!! Question 1: Since it can work as a webcam, is there any way it could attach to an Android phone or tablet through a USB-C to USB-C cable for use as an external monitor while recording or playback?
