Except they hung everyone waiting for the “media mod” for the 8 out to dry. The very reason most ppl bought that was under the belief the flip screen etc was “coming any day”. So everyone bought it and waited..... they kept saying it was delayed because of the entire global situation and everyone understood. Then they throw it out there the exact same week that a brand new product comes out which basically has the upgrades already built-in plus more. Fine, so let us trade in the eight for the nine because the upgrades for the eight were never delivered. They’re actually telling people to trade in relatively new eights for $100. I cannot trust this company anymore, I will use their competitors like DJI and sell this I guess. By the way the flip screen part is out of stock at the moment. Ha...
I think that’s why he stepped away. He puts so much effort in and people can become huge off of no creativity whatsoever. Seemed like a running theme through the whole video actually
The 1 hour, 37 seconds shot lol. This is why I watch his videos. It blows me away. The best part is that you need to pay attention to realize how much work that short sequence takes to make. Looks so organic.
Notice how Casey didn't talk about specs, didn't tell us about resolution, frame rate, battery hours. Didn't tell us much of anything really aside from price and a couple small details and yet we sat here and watch the ENTIRE video. This guy is a master at video creation and keeping you watching. God Bless that talent

Few more: Why is it crashing, much more often than one would expect. Why is the touch screen is super hard to use and will annoy you every day. Why the scheduled capture is not working. Of course GoPro won't admit it, but will "Improve" it with some not specified in time firmware update. Why the max lens mod wouldn't first screw to the correctly to the camera, after 100 tries and scrubbing metal from the lens body, it will eventually somehow will. Why is GoPro support useless and keeps repeating their scripts almost like bots.

It’s true that my phone takes good pictures & videos....however I bought my GoPro because I didn’t want to risk my phone on the chairlift or losing it in the water. Plus Gopro has all kind of accessories & is rated for those environments.
It's illogical to spend that much money if you already have something that works well. 450 bucks is serious money, so why spend on something like this when there are so many other, cheaper options available?
Casey, try the Insta360 one r twin edition. It gets you 2 cameras (4K + 360 degree) for a lower price than the new Hero 9. Possible to opt. upgrade to 1inch leica sensor

That’s not expensive for a video camera 🤣 Especially for a daily used tool to make your living with. Excellent would be more like a $48k PhaseOne photo camera or for video a $80k RED or a $140k Arri Alexa rig and not a Sony Alpha with some G Master lens and microphone on it (still a solid tool and easier to handle and carry around but nothing special) 😅

I'd say only get the 9 if you're looking to upgrade and dont already have the 7 or 8.
Get a DJI if it comes to stabilization

Its really hard to 'waterproof' a microphone, and often it just leads to muffled noise by protecting it, they did the best they could do.
