- 'Love is Blind' star Paul Peden chats with ET's Will Marfuggi at the season 4 reunion. The 29-year-old opens up about his tense moment with the show's co-host ,Vanessa Lachey, as she confronted him about his post-wedding comments about his ex, Micah Lussier, in which he said that he couldn't picture her as a mother. At the live taping, Vanessa repeatedly pressed Paul for his reason for seemingly not sharing his concerns with Micah before or after their wedding. Paul says he thinks she had a 'personal bias' in that scenario.

Hello!! Why are people forgetting everything Micah did leading up to the wedding day?? She played Kwame into choosing her just to turn around manipulate Paul into the same, SHE WAS MEAN! She flirted shamelessly with Kwame on more than one occasion, she wasn’t even interested in Paul until Irina was!
That’s just what we saw. Imagining living with her and talking to her and seeing her with her raggedy friends!! I’m 100% with Paul ❤

People really don’t know what Narcissism looks like. What happened to Jackie was called Reactive abuse. It’s why she is fine and thriving today, but when she was with Marshall she came across as “crazy”.
Reactive abuse is when a narcissist or a toxic person deliberately triggers you into reacting to their abuse. In other words, they do or say something obnoxious, you react, they act innocent and ask you what your problem is.
She needs to be fired. Asking Zach and Bliss about a baby is inappropriate and she didn't hold Micah and Jackie accountable for mean girl behavior

Yes. I agree 19736218% with Paul. It was very apparent & Paul speaking the truth rattled someone’s feathers (Vanessa) hence why she tried to belittle Paul and say Im confused. No Vanessa you just don’t see the bigger picture or are you listening with intent to understand. & to the truth of why press someone for change to then cause resentment in the grand scheme of events. Perhaps defensive mechanisms to rejection micha had Paul speak first. & then turn the tables as to why Paul had no discussion with Micha about motherly ora. Prior to alter. Vanessa should have been left out of this reunion and allowed Nick to control.

The problem is Paul didn't want to tell what Micah did, he was avoiding specific answers not to make her look even worse, and she was going after him trying to be the victim. I'm annoyed with Paul defending her like that. Zach spoke my exact thought. She knows what she did, Paul was being nice to her and she trying to gain sympathy making him the villain.
Paul was sparing her. She’s already hurt about the mothering comment. But we all saw her character play out on tv. The clip before that conversation she was laughing at other people’s pain and now it’s like well Paul why do you say she’s not nurturing. Like when in the show did she display that?

Vanessa is a TERRIBLE host!!!! She doesn't let the cast answers, interrupts them, attacks them, is unprofessional and cringy at times and puts in her 2 cents wayy more than the cast members on the show. It was definitely hard to watch!!

The part that infuriated me the most with her was when Marshall expressed frustration that Jackie didn’t show up, and Vanessa said “have you considered HER feelings?” Screw that! Irina showed up. She was the only one on the show ever to not show up and get such a safe, private interview. She owed Zack an apology for bad mouthing him on camera, & Chelsea an apology for that two-faced comment to Micah “if she wanted your man she woulda had him.” And she’s totally out for blood on social media, acting like spilling Marshall’s comment is her defending the trans community - girl, you didn’t like he insulted your appearance, after probably 4 or 5 digs you already gave him. And MARSHALL is the sensitive one? Girl cried more than anyone and was allowed to stay home. Vanessa totally let her off the hook. And that was a heck of an accusation against Netflix on SM that the edit made it look like she cheated - no one challenged that or confirmed with production the sequence of events? Stop treating these women with kids gloves. Don’t be all like “consider her feelings.” she’s a grown-ass woman

Someone had said Zach was acting self righteous and I don’t see it! He had a right to call out irina & to defend his closest friend on the show. Micah was super weird and drunk a lot on top of being a bully! That’s obviously why Paul didn’t think she’d ever be a good mom he’s entitled to that opinion of her based on her character. He was already with someone else. Let's be serious, he was in a relationship when they were filming and he told his mother that he still loves M, in fact he told her too, why do you keep in touch with your ex if you have girlfriend? At one point he made it clear that he wanted to reconcile with her even if he had a relationship, say that on TV

@@rebeccarafuse17 Paul can speak for himself, and he explained his reasons perfectly. He's a science guy: smart, intelligent, straightforward... He didn't feel 100% with Micah and said no. As logical as that sounds, it was the best decision. Nevertheless, it was nice seeing Zack step in for his friend. After the last episode and the reunion, I can say Zack and Paul are some of the most authentic nice guys I have seen on this show.

I don’t dislike them as people, but every single reunion I’m actually distracted by the poor hosting/interviewing. I was hoping Cam and Lauren would do it, but I think most hosts don’t make the same blunders Vanessa does. She’s very enthusiastic, but very biased and the baby pressure wasn’t appropriate.

It's the production who's responsible for them, not Netflix. Netflix is the streaming service they use and is the one with the big bucks. All Netflix will do is cancel them so they can't continue to stream on the app.

Everything Paul said about Micha on the Reunion made sense to me. He explained himself very well. Shoot, I agree! Micah is no Bliss or Tiffany. She appears very surface level from what was shown on the show.
Agreed and then when you think about the behavior she showed with her friends I can see clearly why he would think at that point in time in her life she was not in a nurturing, motherly mindset.

Paul was very logical and articulate. I don't know what was so hard for Vanessa to understand. Also Micah was way too comfortable being seen as the victim when she didn't say yes either. It looks like she was trying to manipulate the situation a little bit.

Paul has always been portrayed as being extremely analytical and logical, to a fault even. Remember when he broke up with Amber and was discussing it with Kwame as if Kwame hadn’t gone through the same thing with Micah? That is Paul. He gonna be blunt but reasonable. The interviewer probably asked why he said no and he answered it. Oh well. There is nothing that Micah showed to the audience that would contradict what Paul pointed out.

Paul saw something really horrible about Micha or witnessed something of her character that led him to his answer. Obviously he was keeping it classy and trying not to embarrass or humiliate her. Vanessa wanted him to get messy and he refused. Sorry he’s not Jackie. Marshall and Paul are class acts.

I mean the night of Micah's bachelorette party during that cringy drunk call she made to him might have been a bit of a turnoff. Not saying a bride to be can't have fun and have a good time. But to drunk dial your soon to be husband and act like a highschool girl who just went to her first party... He saw how she gets at Shelby's birthday party as well... I think Micah might have a drinking problem because boy does she get weird after a few too many... That may be where the "I don't see her as a mother to my children" comment that Paul made came from. Micah needs to grow up and show that she can be responsible.

Vanessa did a terrible job showing her bias with Paul and Marshall. She did not hold Jackie or Josh accountable by asking them important questions instead she was too busy pandering to them. That said Paul and Marshall handled Vanessa’s bias well.
Edit: people across social media are calling for her to be fired. I think that’s a bit extreme. I do hope however that moving forward she takes the constructive criticism she’s receiving to improve her hosting and interviewing skills.
I don’t think she needs to be replaced as the host I just don’t feel like they need to run the reunions per say! They should continue to host the show all season and maybe they should have a famous therapist or Lauren and Cam if they both can remain objective but I’m rooting for a male and female relationship therapist duo to run the reunions! I notice that so many of the people deal with so much mental damage or stress especially if things went wrong during the show! It’s the Least Netflix can do for these people coming out and sharing their lives for the entertainment of others! IJS 🤷🏾♀️

This ET interviewer should be reunion host next time. I’ve watched a few of his interviews with other Love Is Blind cast members, and they were very well done with no bias-just letting them speak and asking good questions. For my part, I’m not looking for that classic reality show drama. These were regular people I found, and I really just wanted to hear them out without anyone being attacked. The cast members did an amazing job at not letting Vanessa get under their skin; extremely respectful people. I admire them!

Just watched it. And I agree with everyone. Venessa was sooo bias. She was calling people out for making faces during the interview but Venessa needed to look herself in the mirror. Every time when Marshall and Paul speak she has this serious face and was pretty rude to them.
Seems like Paul is getting more comfortable talking publicly. That’s good and I wish him well.
I felt bad for Paul and Marshall for how Vanessa treated them. I hate to say it but I also felt just a smidgen bad for Irena that Micah wasn't called out AT ALL for mean girling right along with Irena. This is why I don't care for weak ppl because they hide behind bigger personalities and enjoy participating in the disgusting behavior then shedding tears and separating themselves as if they did nothing. Paul dodged a bullet!
Omg this!! Like why did Irena get all the heat for that when Micah had as much of a part in the bullying as she did. If anything it showed that with Irena's low self esteem she kind of became Micah's minion because Irena wanted to be friends with the pretty blonde girl.
So glad everyone else feels this way! I said the same things about Vanessa in that moment and also couldn’t believe that they were treating Paul like he was explaining rocket science… “I’m so confused” Really? You don’t understand that some people exude a nurturing side, where some people don’t? Paul tried to take accountability by saying he had a part in it but I hardly doubt it. People have that quality naturally…
uh, probably the most frustrating part of the reunion
I honestly felt Vanessa's whole demeanour as a host was problematic at the reunion. She was being messy, bias and straight up rude with a condescending on her face. Made it a very uncomfortable watch
Great composure from Paul. He was able to articulate his point without visible frustration. Especially since it was going over Vanessa's head 🙄
Why did Vanessa ask Jackie “Why do you think Marshall asked for the ring back?” Why not ask Jackie, “If you chose to leave Marshall after 3weeks together, to be with Josh, and you told Josh you don’t have any intention in getting married in the near future..why did you want to keep a ring!” The ring was given to her by another man for the purpose of marriage!
You go Paul! Paul is a good man. He’s very intelligent, well-mannered, and soft spoken. He didn’t even bother to retaliate to the numerous times she gave herself credit for his wardrobe. Paul elevated her if anything!
Paul can really handle pressure with grace. Bravo
he did VERY well. good for him 💪🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 and i was super impressed with how he stayed humble + calm, cool, and collected while vanessa tried to beat a dead horse (ie by belaboring the “micah as a mother topic”) & not letting it go.
i think paul looked GREAT, was assertive 🔥 kept it professional, and was respectful towards vanessa. most in his situation (ie cornered) may not have been so gracious. and he didn’t HAVE to be so accommodating towards her, tbh. but he CHOSE TO and that shows maturity, grace, and class. there’s levels to this y’all 😎🥂🎩
lol, vanessa vanessa vanessa. why girl? as a host & a working professional, you’re supposed to stay objective, neutral (ie think🇨🇭switzerland), ALWAYS TREAT BOTH MALE & FEMALE CAST MEMBERS EXACTLY THE SAME, keep your own feelings / biases, jaded (warped) emotions + your personal life or marriage experience(s) COMPLETELY OUT during interviewing the cast members or asking the panel any personal questions. I can’t believe Venessa is trying to push the narrative with the bridesmaid. It is fine that he doesn’t see her as a mom she needs to become more mature and that is evident in her past behaviour on the show
Agreed. Vanessa was very cringey on the reunion show. Micah was definitely not called out enough. There is NO WAY she was going to say "Yes" to Paul at the altar. All season long, she did not seem "in love" with him ever. She continually pulled away from his kisses or turned her cheek to go in for a hug instead. I saw no genuine love on her part. Made fun of his clothes, apartment, said "we have to live in Arizona, etc." She made him go first, so she could play victim instead of villain. You know the things she allegedly said to the girls off camera would support this too. And the way she answered the question at the reunion...she was not very convincing

Paul handled himself well considering the pressure that Vanessa was putting on him with the questioning. I feel like you can tell a lot about someone by the company they keep... and that reflected in Micah's choice of friends on and off the show. Like Irina and Shelby....says alot about who you are if these are your closest friends. I'm sure Paul will find someone more compatible with him. ❤
I didn’t like how in the show irina was the only one getting called out for her being a bitch to the other cast mates in those clips when Micah was right along with her doing that mean girls bullying shit and the fact that Micah didn’t speak up and say that’s she would like to apologize for her mean behavior towards the other girls shows that people don’t want to apologize or take accountability for their actions unless they were called out or caught

She and the girl sitting next to her I believe came on the show to cloud chase, that's my personal opinion that's all. They had the wrong intentions from the beginning with the "LIKE" saying behinds. Just terrible human beings...

We shouldn’t need to justify not wanting to be with someone. Not to this degree. He could’ve just said, ‘she’s not it for me’. Vanessa seems to be forgetting herself. Not just here, either, but in past reunions

I wasn't shocked to hear what Paul said about Micha not being motherly. I was shocked he said it on TV, but I knew exactly what he meant. She gave mean girl energy through whole show, then wants to act shocked that she doesn't seem nurturing. She was literally over there flirting with Kwame right in front of Paul. And making fun of everyone left and right. 💀

Vanessa is bias to all of the men. Like Jackie can be a completely rotten human being and she gives her the opportunity to say what she wants about Marshall while rooting her on and Marshall makes a face or an odd comment and she does these weird snarky comments.

I honestly thought Paul did a great job at explaining his perspective while trying severely hard not to offend/make anybody feel bad. He is entitled to how he feels about her. I don’t see the need of forcing him to explain himself further and further just because his response wasn’t what they wanted to hear. I feel bad that he was being attacked like that.

Vanessa made quite a few comments during the reunion that I found distasteful. I was cringing at times.
Perhaps Paul should’ve asked Vanessa if any outside force, including friends could affect their marriage and if she said no, then he could’ve answered back “well that’s all I wanted” Micah’s friend said she didn’t like Paul and Micah asked Paul “what do you think of that” and Paul responded “ I don’t care “and she said “you should care. “Well, Paul didn’t want to marry her friend he wanted to marry Micah . I think that was a big mistake on Micah’s part and ultimately led her down to a path of destruction in the relationship. Would you want to be married to someone who constantly check to see if everything’s OK with her friends? And your wife backing her friend up more than you? That certainly isn’t a mother, nurturing, attribute, etc. Micah should select friends that are like” oh, I’m happy for you. I trust your judgment, and I am with you every step of the way.” Not “ I don’t like any of your boy friends and I don’t wanna lose you because I like it when we party and get drunk together” that’s what’s really going on. I think Paul saw alot more and understood a lot better than Vanessa could really understand and see. what is he supposed to say “I didn’t like it that she chose your friends over me? “ That opens up the door for Micah or whoever to say “hey look everyone he’s making me give up my “friends” so Paul took the high road and just gave an answer that gave Micah dignity and said perhaps he didn’t allow her the appropriate time to display that mother, nurturing attributes.
Micah cares more about her friends than a serious relationship with anyone. Paul says “we’re not there yet”. I think Micah wasn’t there at all. That’s the issue.

Definately agree she isnt a good hosts. Hosts ask questions and let the casts speaks. She is very rude and cocky. The jabs she made at Marshall was unecessary. So he said Jackie might have been a man? Lets see Vanessa talk about how Jackie called Zack all sorts of name and someone a peasant?? Why dont she talk about the rude things Jackie said about the others? Vanessa is a fake woman empowerment... she makes actual strong women look bad.
I've never seen a co-host try to control a cast on a reunion show so much. Good on Paul, Zack and Marshall for standing their ground. 🤛
Vanessa has to go! She’s been one sided and can’t seem to be unbiased. If you’re hosting shows like this have your opinion, but don’t let that spill into your work. Your job is to make everyone feel comfortable to tell their story, yet she did the opposite! She was even cutting the men off! As women we have to hold other women accountable! I like her husband but the team gots to go!!

I agree that I don’t see a problem with her staying the host she comes off to mean well but probably not the reunions they should host out for that many shows do that as well sometimes they are just to close to production to stay objective
