I bought an 05 TT 3.2 Quattro with DSG. Folks warned me that fancy transmission would be a nightmare. About 2 years in, it started shifting really weird and acting like the DSG was glitching. With trepidation I took it into the dealer. He called me an hour later said it was ready to pick up. Turned out the Brake Light switch had gone bad. The DSG used signal from the brake light switch to tell whether I was braking or accelerating, so it could guess which gear I would need next and pre-select it. Transmission was perfect. The brake light switch cost $40. Still have that car 17 years later and its transmission is still rock solid. It won’t allow me to go above redline, nor to lug the engine, and so its protected the engine as well as itself. LOVE that car.

I have exactly problem like you have here just now:) Brake pressure sensor 2, Well I wish with just clean up the connector can solve the issue, Gonna do this “try” this weekend! Wish me luck😅… my 20 years old TTQ , the brake light switch has been replaced last year by myself but my OBD2 has detected the issue with brake sensor ( G ..,)

I did clean n check it out the connectors but it didn’t help so Lastly I focused on G201 sensor, I believe this kind of sensor won’t easily breakdown except there’s something going on with the brake fluid itself, my OBD2 given me some codes related to brake sensors (1-2)Radio & ABS so I decided to just “ Bleed - Flush “ the brake fluid with 1L Class 6 ATE sl6 , and also change the haldex oil since I didn’t change this both for so many years maybe a decade !
After flushing the brake lines plus Changed the haldex oil, start the car let’s idle for 10-15 minutes , I used cheapest OBD2 autophix 7610 ($74) to clear all codes then I went to drive around for awhile, back home I did scan again and DONE😂, everything is just fine and even better now for almost a week ! The traction control is just doing great I can feel it !
