teens being forced to study *some* subjects they rn’t interested in.
i feel like school is about memory & grades, not learning - being forced to study subjects some ppl r not interested in.
when ppl leave school, some don’t even have any idea what to do in their lives for the future until they have an idea.
like my classm8 in college had no idea what to do & got bored w/ his A-levels, he dropped out.
then he had no idea what to do until he joined an engineering college course bcs he wants to make a difference instead of sitting around doing nothing after dropping out of A-levels.
    & he’s doing great.
just like me, during my GCSE options i had no idea what to pick until i had an idea on what to do & not what to do when i did my GCSEs.
i’m doing engineering at college now getting lots of distinctions/As (all coursework/classwork) when i got 4s, 5s/Cs when i did my GCSEs in secondary sch (all exams).
i’m bad or ok at exams, but i do well in coursework/classwork.

GSCE is a memory exercise nothing more nothing less. Children are so bright at that age and the fact that we have to teach them topics which are not even relevant is such a waste. If they don’t want to study history, geography another language then they shouldn’t have to.

I hear both arguments and I agree.
So I guess instead of zbolishing GCSEs entirely.
It should be given an option if you wish to take HCSEs or not.
