I remember my friend bought a small Hobart that size for welding automotive panels. It has the gas conversion, but he complained for months that it wasn't welding right... Until a mutual friend asked "did you check the polarity?" The Hobart welded great from that point on. 💪
This was basically me working on the floor while learning to weld. I have to say, it was actually pretty good experience, because once I got a table (albeit a cheap one), I was pretty darn steady being able to prop!
It's somewhat comforting to know someone as good as this guy can still miss things like polarity. Last week I was fighting my TIG machine like mad for an hour, burning up tungsten immediately. I finally noticed my ground and torch leads were swapped at the machine. Pretty sure my neighbours heard me groaning.
Those little 230v Lincolns(not the 120v version) are really good, under appreciated machines. Once you get the settings dialed in, they perform very well on mig. Same goes for flux, they can really lay down the heat. I know I ran my old one past the duty cycle more than a couple times but it was a timex in that regard, miles and miles of wire through it and it never stopped. They just need a longer whip as standard, you can order longer ones from HTP iirc.
Honestly, most of the 130 volt welders are junk. Gutless and have absolutely no power at all. Save your money, get a 240 volt machine and okay an electrician to wire you a 240 volt plug. Seriosusly
Impressive welding. Makes my welds look like a child did it. My biggest problem is dexterity and maintaining consistency. I noticed I tense up to much with my trigger hand.
I think the bottom piece should have 3 holes on each piece, I see it has little feet to let the air under it but if you put that in the grass or on dirt then those little feet will just go into the dirt and then you no longer have airflow. The holes eliminate that. Just my thoughts 💭
I felt like a buffoon when I forgot to flip polarity when I ran out of gas and had to finish up the project with flux core. But I see that it happens to the best of us.
Not his welder and he’s laying dimes like he’s TIGGING aluminum. My god man you are an alien from another dimension…and the welder needed a cigarette afterwards…..
Selling more stuff... On that subject, I have a couple of stainless steel, 11 gauge 4 x 8 sheets that are mill finish and a bit rough. Any ideas what I could make out of them that would be popular and profitable. I have access to a water jet CNC, TIG and handheld plasma. THANKS for your input.
If I had welds that nice, no way I'd grind them. Well done!

Hands up if you started welding kneeling on a garage floor 🙌🙌
I love how great the welds look even when welded on the wrong polarity, reaching your skill level is the dream
takes about a week but youll get there😂
wrong polarity? noob here.
Wrong polarity what?

Love to see the old tack and smack. It's a time honored tradition.
Got to love a satisfying short video once in a while.

no matter tig or mig ….still love your weld
The workpiece moved WHILE he was welding, and it still came out straighter than Chuck Norris.
Yep, and he's working those grinders like double nunchucks. Lol
It was the “sit on it” hold down technique that added the necessary mojo.
The duel wield grinders was a nice touch…😂 That turned out nice.
Mig welds look better than my tig welds fml I quit
Same here 😂
With clean material, using a half decent machine, argon light gas - anybody could make nice mig welds after a small amount of practice.
Practice practice practice
Come on guys look who it is 🤣
@@andybob1001 same 😂
Real authentic home welding, down on the floor with entangled cables and hoses everywhere
Stay safe and use MMA Buzz box AC welder 😂

Love the fire lightning skills 👍
I'm glad to see you are ok. I was wondering why I haven't seen anything from you in a bit. You still weld like a king. Looking forward to seeing more.
"Grinder and paint will make you the welder you ain't"

i used to really love my little Lincoln.
Cam you recommend a decent starter welder that is 120 volt?
Honestly, most of the 130 volt welders are junk. Gutless and have absolutely no power at all. Save your money, get a 240 volt machine and okay an electrician to wire you a 240 volt plug. Seriosusly
Sorry 120 volt not 130. Big fingers
Welcome back to welding on the floor like the rest of us peasants lol
your mig sound so good....very fine sounds
I agree I wouldn't grind the welds down! I've been welding 30 years and they look awesome
Man does better looking MIG welds than I can with TIG then grinds them out and says "Grinder and paint"😭😂
I've finally learnt something about my welding. And im never never ever going to weld again.
Oh this is a video that... I was not expecting on this channel. 🤣
Wow,what a beautiful and clean welding
Good work ❤
I’m on my break. From welding…. Watching you. Weld…
Impressive welding. Makes my welds look like a child did it. My biggest problem is dexterity and maintaining consistency. I noticed I tense up to much with my trigger hand.
Fantastic video as normal all ways look forward to seeing them. Mig or tig the man’s at legend 👍👍👍
Easy peeezyy. Great job. If you weld cold n scared youll not get what youre after when its hot n fast. Nice stuff.
I love watching this type of videos 💙💙
It kills me that you ground those beautiful welds
I love u. I was very impressed when u busted out 2 dawalts at once. Very nice.
Excellent and hilarious! Cheers for sharing...
Nice to see you midge welding a bit. :D
Great welding!
You know what, that pit can be converted in templates and you can sell it as a kit for someone to welded! I’m down to buy one!
Watch till the end. That’s exactly what this is - an ad for a weld it yourself kit ;-)
Ooorrrr you can just buy the kit that he welded together thats already available.
ummm….
Link in the description
Awesome video!!! Very nice 👍🏽 you got them skills to pay da bills man
...make me the welder I aint!
Loved the video. Thank you for sharing.
amazing work!
That's really good for the first time.....LMAO. Nice work sir.
Ah yes, a splash of VP for a little extra seasoning!
Great video wouldn't hate to see more wire
Awesome thanks a lot. Hello from France 😁😁
I love this channel!

Came pretty close to seeing your face on this one! 😲
A joy to watch!
For what it is I would've stoved all the welds, but hey still a nice job! 😊
I felt like a buffoon when I forgot to flip polarity when I ran out of gas and had to finish up the project with flux core. But I see that it happens to the best of us.
Good job guys
5:32 when the beers kick in
this build looks 6061 times easier than it actually is!

Very likely MAG but I forgive your rookie mistake 😉😁 but seriously, you can see that you're a pro at TIG, the way you move your torch!
Why MAG and not MIG? Do you know the GAS or are you able to tell from the video?
in italia per consuetudine si definisce MIG tutto cio' saldato a gas inerte 100% ma anche a piccole quantità di miscela come Argon/CO2 , mentre si definisce MAG il CO2. Isnt this stainless? Its common to use 99% argon on that (which is an inert gas.)
floor welding IS THE BEST.I DO THE SAME !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!maybe i don't have time to find a table !!!!!!!!
welding sounds & look good
Nice project👏👏 How much was you welding at? You said it was maxed
My knees hurt just watching
So, did you have to switch the ground and gun cables around or were they wrong to begin with? Beautiful welds no matter what, nice work.
Very good ❤❤❤
Nice mate!!😁😂
I’m quite surprised the Tillman gloves could survive that little welding job 😝
I always use my Tillman for Mig jobs.
J'aime ce métier ❤
Excellent....👍
Built a bummer for a Jeep that had to come from the same factory. Mill scale was brutal.
Or not! Follow the link they said.
I’m surprised you didn’t hit the duty cycle of the welding machine and it cut off. Welds look good
Happened at least 4 times!
Excellent... 👍👍👍
Osm bro ❤️
Would love to do this project walking the cup the whole time
" Makes me the welder I ain't "
Very cool bro
Do you think it could work for some heavy duty planters to put flowers in as well?
Oh thats how you do it! : )
Shame to grind such nice welds
I like to keep it raw 😄
Tienes una excelente presentacion pero A la proxima se aplican primero los verticales y despues los planos para q no queden montados los cordones como hicistes en la segunda pieza ✌️😎
amazing
Very good
Thanks!
Thanks Chris!
Thanks for sharing
Do you ever wonder what it would be like to be a mere mortal?
🤣 lmfao thank you for sharing your humor !
Welding mig. Sama welding rood enakn yang mna bro..cara pemakaian ny ?🤝🤝🇮🇩🇮🇩
Better than SMAW welding
Thanks for taking the time to share with us all.
And please never weld down hill again.
Ty in advance.
xD
сварщик гап йок 👍 good
what's your pattern/technique to get really nice welds like that?
it was setup for DC+ ... because you were running flux core, previously? or aluminum? or something else?
Good👍👍👍
Bangladesh Theke Thank You❤❤❤
What are some of the disadvantages of mig welding?
What gauge is the metal in the kit?
B hàn đẹp mà nhanh như siêu nhân😊
show off 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Good 👍
