Soil temp and seeding depth are the biggest factor in determining this. In this field we had 45-50 degree soil temps at 1.5 inches deep, it took 10 days to emerge. In warmer temps I have seen as quick as 5 days, in a cold dry spring with deep planting it could be as long as 14 days after planting. Barley is usually very aggressive though emerging quicker than oats, wheat, and triticale.
