The individuals on this hidden camera show are forced to make tough calls when directly faced with situations of racism, violence, hate crimes, and other hot button cultural issues. Catch John Quinones reporting on these individuals as they make split-second decisions to intervene or mind their own business. WWYD? airs Friday nights at 9|8c on ABC.
What Would You Do? (WWYD) is a hidden camera show, hosted by ABC News correspondent John Quinones, in which unknowing bystanders are placed in uncomfortable, and often compromising real world scenarios in public. WWYD’s hidden cameras focus on the average person’s responses and reactions to these issues of social responsibility. Topics such as gay couples being affectionate in public, date rape, racism and racial profiling, interracial couples, abusive parents, drunk driving, and harassment of the homeless are touched upon in this series. What will you do? Would you choose to intervene in these situations? Watch and join the discussion.

It's sad because situations like this actually happen, I use to manage a restuarant, one of the chefs was working a double, and sat at the end of the bar to eat his lunch, and the bar guests had the nerve to complain about him sitting there. Granted no one said anything to him directly, but the bar staff came to me and said they where uncomfortable with some of the conversations bar guests where having about chef. I came behind the bar just to hear what was being said, specifically a guy was really upset about this, I asked how his food was tasting he said great! I said you have that amazing guy sitting at the end of the bar to thank for it. The look on that mans face was priceless.

I'm gonna be real that shit had my blood boiling! Our family came here in 1908 from Italy to NYC. My dad was born in Harlem NY in 1930, I heard the stories of how they were treated by "regular Americans". I would not have been able to keep my mouth shut as long as half of these people. I've said things to people in real life before for the way they were treating other people. It wouldn't have been any diff here! Sad part was how emotional the actor was, it shows that he's been treated this way before in his own life here.

This really hits home for me. My parents were both immigrants and worked so hard to give us a house and a good life. I've always worked just as hard. I work two jobs and go to school. I always promised that I would protect anyone one I worked with, especially immigrant workers since I know they can be left vulnerable. I work as a full time shift manager in a restaurant and I always make sure that I protect my staff, who are mostly immigrants. They are insanely hard workers. Most of them start their work day at 5 am and don't get home until 11 pm from work. Bless their souls

Ive been thru this all my life, i was born and raised in an all white neighborhood, went to an all white church, and an all white school so this hits home for me. When i was 10 years old a grown man pulled a gun on me for dating his daughter. I WAS A 10 YEAR OLD KID!!!!! I had done nothing to the world and had my life threatened because i was different. If you’ve never walked in those shoes you cant possibly understand. And im 32 now and still fighting that battle. My wife is white and we are expecting a baby soon and sadly we had to have the talk about what our families would think from both sides (black and white). That in its self is sad. I told her our love and our family is our business. Our family members can say what they want about that but if anyone steps forward to our family i will defend us with everything i have. I dont care if we are related or not. Shes the love of my life and shes carrying my child. Dont f*** with that. I will draw blood defending my white wife and child. Dont care who you are.

As a kid, my dad worked with the Catholic Church at a mission helping these rural migrant farm workers in Long Island and they're honestly some of the nicest people I've ever met. We went out fishing in a little tiny rowboat on the sound and caught a ton of fish to eat, and they taught me how to catch crabs with a chicken leg on a string. Incredibly kind and fun people.
I think the main reason why we all binge on these WWYD videos is because deep down, we all still want to root for the good guy. we're not a jaded and cynical as we'd like to believe. so when we see someone stand up for another person, it lights up that part of us that still wants there to be heroes left in the world. at least that's how I feel

I was born in Mexico, I do have light skin, I don't think that I have ever been discriminated in this country, I'm not saying that it doesn't happen but I didn't see anyone stand up to support the couple making the rude comments. I believe that many people are rude and make rude comments but I don't believe that those comments unnecessarily racist, those comments come from the Dark Side of their hearts.
