    In solid ground you can get away with higher hips and just a hard and fast toe kick off the ground. In sand it's better to approach the set with lower hips and send your knees fwd to get into that sort of sitting pose, this gives time for a comfy look and for a longer ascent phase where you can really push off sand that's already packed a bit a bit under you. It's all connected, once I figured it out I was able to avoid getting too much under the ball, have an easier time looking at the defense, reconnect easily with the ball after the look and attack *with power* at the top instead of weak or on the way down.

    I've always felt like I sink into the sand but can pogo on grass and indoor. This would explain it. I wouldn't believe it worked if it wasn't mark advocating it. I'll have to try it.

    Amazing tips!! As a self taught recreational volleyball player your videos are helping me a lot. I hope I get to join one of your camps someday if i ever visit USA. Now I have a new goal for off season to get this techniques figured out (as a fairly short guy for volleyball i need it ;) ). Great content!!

    In shock. So the final step with the left foot, it doesn't seem like the heel touches the ground at all. Am I correct in this understanding?

    • @brandonjoyner6046
      @brandonjoyner6046 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      There is a good chance it will still touch but the power should be driven through the ball.

    How about a slow motion for the last scene? Easy to re-edit!

  • @treeleupp8504
    @treeleupp8504 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    If you „kick“ the sand on the last transition step, don‘t you slide too much on the sand? Isn‘t a slight hope advantageous, because the sand gets denser faster below your foot and less momentum gets lost that way?

    • @brandonjoyner6046
      @brandonjoyner6046 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey there!
      Increasing your vertical has all to do with finding a workout program that increases hip mobility, leg strength and explosiveness. Do you currently have a workout program?

      @@brandonjoyner6046 Thanks Brandon! No excuses and straight out: unfortunatly not ! All indoor beachcourts are closed here in Berlin (guess why...) and I really feel that workouts on sand are way better for my body (especially the joints) than on hard floor...I´m more of the tall and slim guy. Any tips much very much appreciated!
