I don't think I've seen a better example of enormous energy transfer from audience to singer and back. Authentic, raw and absolutely amazing. The best of what we can be to each other.
For those saying she lost a loved one, or got divorced...none of this is true. Lara was simply coming out of a really rough time mentally because of both her professional life and her personal life. She had had suicidal thoughts, to sum it up. She explained it several times during interviews. Her pianist and a fan arranged this moment, and the entire audience sang for her, changing the words to “On t’aime” which means “we love you”. Lara said during this moment, she realized the beauty of life, and that it’s really worth living it.
Gaby S you’re not refering to the right performance. This one is on one of her dvds, it happened in Paris. Here, they are singing the original song, but saying « on t’aime » and not « je t’aime ». The one you are refering to happened in Nîmes, where she collapsed to the ground in tears, André could not even sing one word because of how overwhelmed she was :)

Joshua Cruz this was because young Gregory LeMarchal sang it. He was s great fan of Lara’s. He died earlier that year of cystic fibrosis at the age of 22. However they did get to sing a duet together while he was alive. It was general knowledge that Gregory was vey ill and dying even while he was performing in his short career. The crowd was paying tribute to Gregory through her and with her at the time. She was touched by them and also crying for Greg.

Never have I seen such an impromptu, genuine, authentic, and emotional connection between the artist and the audience. What an absolute delight this was to watch. Over and over again. With some performers, they have this “untouchable” - “beyond reach” mystique to them. Not here, man. This is about as stripped down and real as it gets. Beautiful. So genuine and human. It’s June 12th 2023, I am still here listening to Lara. This is the highest honor any performer would love to get from his/her audience. I wonder what director, program coordinators were doing backstage when this whole thing went on. They don’t normally welcome any spontaneous creativity to cause the big show like this to go off from what they have been rehearsing… I guess they just had to let go and try to enjoy the ride. Each time I watch this clip, the energy is still there, pure and strong as ever, penetrating, waking, reviving all tissues in my body and fuel my entire being once again. Magical! This is where conservation laws get destroyed. They say “energy can’t not be created or destroyed…” each time the clip is played, we get a huge load of positive energy enters each of us, filling all the depleted reservoirs in out entire being !

This is the proof that there was a time where "fans" appreciated the elevated artistry the best singers could attain. Lots of fans could appreciate a decent singing but Lara was, of course, over the top - by multitudes.
Lara Fabian is my most favorite singer ever lived!!! The concert was conducted in Paris back in 2002. That period Lara was having a very challenging time in her life both professionally and personally (she ended up her relationship with French singer Patrick Fiori). The fans were singing “On t’aime” (we love you) to Lara and Lara was singing back to them “Je t’aime” (I love you) So I guess it’s hard not to get emotional when you have thousands right in front of you, that have been so touched by your music and expresses their love and support in a very special way... ❤️

Il y as plus de personnes étrangères qui donnent le mérite que cette déesse mérite, que de français. C’est bien triste que en France personne ne parle de Lara, c’est une légende de la musique, et personne lui octroie ce mérite dans son propre pays. Malgré ça, internationalement les gens parlent beaucoup de Lara, il y aura encore et toujours des gens qui apprendront avec elle et qui lui octroieront les vestiges d’une ère passé et la reconnaissance qu’elle mérite. Pour toujours une piece maîtresse de la musique française et de la musique en générale.
En France on trouve (en général) qu'elle en fait trop ..moi la première. A une époque c'était insupportable à regarder. Trop tragédienne dans son jeu. D'ailleurs elle a travaillé sur ce point. C'est dommage elle a une superbe voix mais je n'aime pas ce qu'elle fait. C'est pas mon truc. En revanche je suis contente pour elle qu'elle soit reconnue et qu'elle ait du succès ailleurs 👍 Et en France je suis sûre qu'elle a quand même quelques fans malgré tout. 😉
D'abord Lara n'est pas Française mais Belge imigrante Canadienne. Elle a démarré le plus gros de sa carrière au Québec où elle a eu ses heures de gloire jusqu'à ce que justement elle s'en aille en Europe où nous l'avons perdu de vue pendant plusieurs années. Elle est malheureusement revenue par la porte d'en arrière avec des participations à des émission comme LA VOIX où elle est une coach hors du commun mais nous ne l'entendons plus beaucoup tourner dans les radios...

La musique d’aujourd’hui c des musiques à ambiance que t’écoute mais pas trop. Ce genre de musique là c le genre de musique qui t’emporte dans un autre univers. Tu peux juste pas rester indifférent face à ça. Il ne se fait plus de bons artistes comme elles. Des artistes dont leur chansons et interprétation perdure pendant des décennies. Ça c de la vrai musique. De la musique c des frissons et du respect tellement c’est sublime

I'm 63 I've seen a lot of gigs. But not like this. The measure of love incredible. No doubt. Even she feel it at the moment. Very very rare. Great person and artist to get to this point.
It’s June 12th 2023, I am still here listening to Lara. This is the highest honor any performer would love to get from his/her audience. I wonder what director, program coordinators were doing backstage when this whole thing went on. They don’t normally welcome any spontaneous creativity to cause the big show like this to go off from what they have been rehearsing… I guess they just had to let go and try to enjoy the ride. Each time I watch this clip, the energy is still there, pure and strong as ever, penetrating, waking, reviving all tissues in my body and fuel my entire being once again. Magical! This is where conservation laws get destroyed. They say “energy can’t not be created or destroyed…” each time the clip is played, we get a huge load of positive energy enters each of us, filling all the depleted reservoirs in out entire being !

This is the ultimate desire any performers/singers would love to get from their audience. During the worst crisis of her life, at the lowest point of her entire being, …, to get her out of it, all she needs to do is turn this on and all depleted tissues in her body would be fully fueled again. It would definitely reestablish her motivation and determination and prepare her for a fresh start with new success and happiness awaits for her. It’s amazing how a little lady on that huge stage could manage to connect directly to thousands of fans in the audience then and millions who watch her online now. She makes each one of her audience believe they are being loved and she has enough love for them all. I’m so glad I was born at the right time, right generation to witness these miracles. Lara Fabian is my most favorite singer ever lived!!! The concert was conducted in Paris back in 2002. That period Lara was having a very challenging time in her life both professionally and personally (she ended up her relationship with French singer Patrick Fiori). The fans were singing “On t’aime” (we love you) to Lara and Lara was singing back to them “Je t’aime” (I love you) So I guess it’s hard not to get emotional when you have thousands right in front of you, that have been so touched by your music and expresses their love and support in a very special way... ❤️

Il y as plus de personnes étrangères qui donnent le mérite que cette déesse mérite, que de français. C’est bien triste que en France personne ne parle de Lara, c’est une légende de la musique, et personne lui octroie ce mérite dans son propre pays. Malgré ça, internationalement les gens parlent beaucoup de Lara, il y aura encore et toujours des gens qui apprendront avec elle et qui lui octroieront les vestiges d’une ère passé et la reconnaissance qu’elle mérite. Pour toujours une piece maîtresse de la musique française et de la musique en générale.
En France on trouve (en général) qu'elle en fait trop ..moi la première. A une époque c'était insupportable à regarder. Trop tragédienne dans son jeu. D'ailleurs elle a travaillé sur ce point.
C'est dommage elle a une superbe voix mais je n'aime pas ce qu'elle fait. C'est pas mon truc. En revanche je suis contente pour elle qu'elle soit reconnue et qu'elle ait du succès ailleurs 👍
Et en France je suis sûre qu'elle a quand même quelques fans malgré tout.

D'abord Lara n'est pas Française mais Belge imigrante Canadienne. Elle a démarré le plus gros de sa carrière au Québec où elle a eu ses heures de gloire jusqu'à ce que justement elle s'en aille en Europe où nous l'avons perdu de vue pendant plusieurs années. Elle est malheureusement revenue par la porte d'en arrière avec des participations à des émission comme LA VOIX où elle est une coach hors du commun mais nous ne l'entendons plus beaucoup tourner dans les radios...

@@lilousev1633 c’est justement pour l’histoire qu’elle raconte et les émotions qu’elle démontre (trop tragique) qui fait d’elle une déesse de la musique. La musique d’aujourd’hui c des musiques à ambiance que t’écoute mais pas trop. Ce genre de musique là c le genre de musique qui t’emporte dans un autre univers. Tu peux juste pas rester indifférent face à ça. Il ne se fait plus de bons artistes comme elles. Des artistes dont leur chansons et interprétation perdure pendant des décennies. Ça c de la vrai musique. De la musique c des frissons et du respect tellement c’est sublime
