I'm surprised Hal doesn't want to use the ring more often as a hybrid lantern. I mean, will power is cool and all, but having hope is what gives someone something to strive towards. If you have an end goal, you have hope you will reach that goal, and therefore you will use your willpower to reach said goal. The two concepts go hand in hand, so i don't get why Hal didn't feel hope until that point, or why he want it off so badly
I went through some horrible stuff growing up, and I swear to god you captured it perfectly. The hope that there was another side to come out on. I never let go of that hope, and because of it I had the willpower to get through. Hope + Willpower... 100%

I feel that you explain the 101 stuff way to much in videos that are meant for advancement of bigger/intricate topics, its like teaching calculus but every time you differentiate you explain the power rule, or what a function is, if you don't know what a function is you should go back to pre calc!

Interesting. The reason Green Lantern never did as well as expected is because they kept building it's mythology to gigantic proportions. It became too dense for someone new to the comics to get into. The writers at times filled pages and pages with exposition and dumps of mythology that to a reader wanting to be interested and excited by a new comic it was impenetrable. The counter-part is the Silmarillion and Lord of the Rings. At times the latter is a work of fiction filled with dialogue and interspersed with action. It gained popularity due more than anything else by it's complete difference from similar works of fiction - they just didn't exist. The Silmarillion is really a book of history created by Tolkien to expand a universe he created. Most people try reading it and give up. The Green Lanterns are trying to be the Lord of the Rings, but writers get so enthused by their own creativity they instead go the Silmarillion route and readers go, "I can't be bothered. Batman, yeah, he'll be fighting criminals."

Jeff's consept of emotion always bugged me. How is willpower an emotion? That's like saying Physical Strength is a sense, like sight. It should have been bravery, since Hal was originally and all Green Lanterns originally needed to be born without fear. Also it would make sense that Bravery would have been the opposite of the yellow lantern fear emotion. ugh. It just seems like he didn't think that part out enough. But perhaps he has reasons.... All the rings should have worked off of willpower. That should have been the connection of all the colors. The one common denominator. Willpower makes no sense at all as an emotion.
There's no reason to believe that Larfleeze could destroy the universe. After all, that's where he keeps all his stuff.
