That's an awesome presentation. I wanted Pure Signal, but didn't really need the other I/O board functions at this time. Now I know how to get it done. Thanks for a great demonstration. 73!
Thanks for the shout out Chuck. For sure a great radio and one that I have been having fun with for a couple of years now. I can't believe people listen to me ;) And I consider it a gateway drug to the bigger SDRs.
So Don is a gateway drug dealer? Haha I want the I/O board, too, so I think I don't need to do this mod. I've saved it all in my cart, just another week or two to order. :) I think that Don needs to provide us all with 24/7 support now.😂
Very nice mod Chuck! The Hermes Lite 2 is a gamechanger. I would suggest some way to "strain relief" that coax on the board so that there is no pressure exerted on the solder connections. If one were to flap in the breeze, it could easily contact the main board and ruin ones day. 73 OM
Thanks for the quick and clean method for establishing the feedback for pure signal. Nicely done! My HL-2 is somewhere between here and MakerFabs but it should be a fun project when it arrives. 73 de Rob W1AEX
Also I just read something about a metal shim under the 2 little power amp transistors on the hermes board to help heat travel to the case better. Did you do this as well? Edit: nevermind I see that you have a screw and nut there. i assume the metal shim is under that.

Thank you for the comment!

LOL it is a gateway drug!

@@DonzLockz Hey remember who started me on this journey through his belief that I really needed to get one of these (Hermes): Tom VK5TOM. So . . . 🤣
I LOVE mine the RX is world Class!! Still deciding on an amp to pair…
Are you kidding me. It’s like magic lol
Don is the man. Thank you for this video Chuck.
Yes he is , YW. and thank you for watching!

Yea the strain relief was my first concern also, I got some short jumpers to help with that thanks!
Thetis is a wonderful software too

About to add the PS port so running across your video was timely…I’ve added the + board for the local mic, etc. Thanks!
Don is making me think about one aswell. Im gonna investigate more but that wifi option sounds appealing to me.🍻🤠
Interesting transceiver!
Nice video Chuck. ;) Maybe add some link in the video description of where to find the HL II board. And where the info for the PS Mod came from. ;)
Added Dan will have to look for the mod later and post.
What ist the maximum input power for the HL2? i have an amplifier that gives me approximately 200w and i have also a -40dB directional coupler....
So how do you use pure signal? What do you connect to the sma connector?
A RF sampler, I was told the one from VK amps is a good one.
pure signal golden screwdriver, nice!

Yes Dan that was what the screw and nut was for the shim.
How about soldering a connector onto the header, so the jumper is removable and not under strain?
any luck with pure signal, all i get is distorted audio reports
Don always spending people's money...
Right?
What’s up with the pure signal. They all sound the same and don’t tell me it produces more power, we have run without that marketing crap for years
I don't think I said more power. It just cleans up the output signal keeps it at what width you set it.
I'm sorry but Thetis sounds too much like Cletis.
Going to miss out Lee!
Nice toy, now back to a real stand-alone radio.
why downgrade?
@@slappomatthew ? Like cars, no one have to upgrade. lol
Just got mine LOVE IT!!!!! de VK2AOE 73.
Awesome! I'll be expecting many comprehensive videos on it, Mr Clown.🤡👍😁🇦🇺
