      I started watching the first series back in 2014. I didn't have internet at my house and wanted to play Destiny, so I stopped at my gran's place for three months and would watch a few episodes before bed every night, it's a very fond memory I have. I'm now in my room with my own internet eight years later and this still scratches that itch it did back then.

Gordon could take a stroll through Cave Johnson-era Aperture Science and the only thing he'd likely notice would be realizing where those missing astronauts went in an "Oh, I always wondered what happened to them." in the same manner of someone finding a lost frisbee on the roof after three years.

    • @TheGreenTaco999
      @TheGreenTaco999 2 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      sunk cost fallacy isn't really a thing here because he made progress through the building, switching buildings would be stupid because he would start himself off back at square one but this time with less ammo and the same chances as before of needing ammo, but by continuing the same building he doesn't start back at square one. generally if you walk into any building and kill everyone in the room numbering 6 people for a total of like 11 if you account for the people dead before you got there, you can rest assured that more than 50% of the people in the building are currently dead, walk into a new building afterwards and you'll likely have to start all over with the only potential benefit to hope for being that maybe over 50% of the people in the new building are dead before you get there which usually isn't the case from my experience. One in the hand is worth more than two in the bush.

    Gordon makes a good point about the Resistance. They've got great ingenuity, but not nearly enough productive capacity to make the most of it-partly because the Combine is so omnipresent, they're constantly forced underground or into the very fringes of the outlands, and aside from maybe communication, their forces are exceptionally fragmentary... Cant blame him. Actually, I think Gordon's gonna have a rough time being motivated to do what he has to do in the game. Everyone around him is insane and he's stuck a future where some kind of techno advanced alien species has taken over everything. @@eyedine since Ross has someone helping him modifying the maps, these maps were most likely spliced together for better continuity. As a mapper, I can tell from experience. The smooth transition without any splicing of the video footage itself also shows (unless this is some incredibly good editing on Ross's end).

      @@deepsnow4994 The maps are not spliced, my guy. You can decompile every valve map and edit them directly and then reinsert them back into the game. The footage is smooth because they're demo recordings. Ross went over his process for recording Freeman's Mind years ago.

    "So you're seriously telling me that the suit of armour we specifically designed to allow someone to survive in an otherwise un-survivable situation protects every part of the body, except the one that came up with that idea? If I rode a motorcycle wearing only that suit, I'd be breaking the law in 20 states. And you want me to wear it into a room where we shoot poorly aimed lasers at a rock to try and tear apart the fabric of reality."

    2:51 If the Resistance had the Gravity Gun when Ravenholm was shelled then I'm guessing someone used it to kill a zombie there. Don't recall if the Gravity Gun is the only one of its kind or if the Resistance made a few of them considering their original use for clearing minefields and the like.
    At least, that's what I think might have actually happened in the shack other than just letting the player know that they can use the sawblades as very deadly ammo for the Gravity Gun.
