Neuschwanstein may be quite interesting for a first time visitor, but there are much more authentic castles and palaces in Germany. This castle was more of a kind of fantasy villa of the king from the late 19th century with painted frescoes, matching the operas of Richard Wagner. Nothing there is really old and historic...By the way filming inside the castle or taking pctures is forbidden.
If you want to see real castles from the Middle Ages, you should go to Rhineland-Palatinate to Burg Elz or Marxburg on the Rhine.😁😉
I'm sure there are! I think I like this one the most because it was the first one I knew of. I'm all about castles in general. I think they are fantastic. Thanks for the info! I'll look up those as well!

I've been there but it was closed at the time so I never got to see the inside. The castle is gorgeous though. It was worth it just from the outside.
