    Glad your weather seems to be good for harvest. The important thing this year with breakdowns is at least you were able to get parts!

    Love watching your late season corn harvest. Miss the 8820. I wore out 2 of them back in the day. Luxury back in the 80s

    I remember one night in the last 5 or so years returning from the northwest metro on 694 to Stillwater and there was a 50 to 100 car pile up on westbound 694. Looked like quite a mess.

      Yeah it comes and goes. One you're a neighbor asked for help and I was having a great year on 400 Acres of beans I hardly broke a guard on the Bean Head! He was complaining about his bad luck and he could only go a few Acres a day so I go down there and I stopped on the road in front of his house and I was going to follow his combine to the field. While my combine was sitting on the road and blew a hydraulic hose. Got that fixed we got to the field he ran 3 days straight and never missed a beat and I ran three days back and forth cost me about $4,000 in parts and I literally did maybe 40 acres

      @@jonstevensmaplegrovefarms3754 I used to break a guard once in awhile. No rocks here but running the header over very uneven ground caused the problems. The flex head only flexes so much.
      Not much for hydraulics on my old machine so am ok there. Now belts...thats another story!

      @@northdakotaham1752 belts? You go through a few belts? Have never had belt issues, my old JD and this combine for the most part belts run forever.

      @@jonstevensmaplegrovefarms3754 you probably have belts that are less than 20 years old! 😜.... some of those belts on my machine are a real bear to change. Not to mention they are really expensive. I run them as long as I can and keep my fingers crossed! This season was 16th year running this machine.

    This video seems like a reality of what farming is actually like. Its not going to break down in the shop. Lol
    So working on the ground is a part of it & in America is doesn’t matter the brand or what you pay. Corporate America is about profit. Make it cheaper until it stops working altogether. Then go back some.
    The CEO’s Moto must be If I’m not selling a lot of parts the engineering department is in a lot of trouble.
    How many revolutions did that bearing make compared to front end on your old truck? Not adding up to a good design.

      @jonstevensmaplegrovefarms3754  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks. Several years ago I used a snowmobile lift to pull the tranny out of my old JD combine and overhaul it on the lawn. Same time a fancy channel had to have dealer out to fix a simple tire breaking off. I got a lot of funny private messages from that one.lol
      The bearing was the victim of another issue.

    Hey that's no way to talk about Andy I know he said he was short, but I don't think he's that short to call him a midget, I never knew you went to New York to get parts, and then to have the bad luck to rear end the grumpy farmer
